Mick
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Gravygranny thanks for that tip. Forewarned is forearmed? He is a very good boy when out and doesn't really ask for anything. But as for me, may have to shut my eyes as we walk through!! xxx
Good morning from the NE coast where we had quite a bright and sunny start to Thursday but it’s raining now .
A warm Good Morning welcome to all our new friends who have found this lovely friendly thread .
I could have waved to your DS coming in on the ferry, had I known he was on it Funnygran . Sometimes the North Sea is so rough I can feel my stomach turning just watching it from dry land !
“enjoying” the grandchildren again today (if that’s what you want to call it ) the house has imploded and I have got up to a very sticky passage and kitchen floor . The girls were messing about “getting drinks” at well after midnight and it got to the stage where I was past caring . Looks like they are having a bit of a sleep in before I open the breakfast cafe . Fingers crossed they will all get up together at about lunch time
I have so much to do today and will have to fit some “proper work” in too as it’s wages day . I really don’t know where to start......probably with the mop .
Have a good Thursday everyone .
Love Gillybob xx
Good morning all from N Bucks where it might have stopped raining fir a bit but it is still blustery.
So many interesting posts and new people to welcome! This thread is better than reading the newspaper for entertainment (I bet Smiler the goat was smiling to himself!) and a lot less depressing.
Especial thoughts to those with ills, worries or hills to climb but wishing you all a pleasant day!
Morning all from a sopping wet north Wales! I’m meeting a friend for coffee and cake in Conwy at 10am and I so don’t want to go out.....
Welcome to the newbies- you seem to be arriving thick and fast this week - I will get the names and places right the more you post so keep posting! This is the one thread I frequent every morning without fail regardless of whether I post - always interesting reading.
Hope all with poor health, problems or bereavement in their lives (which is probably all of us in one way or other at the moment) have a better day today than yesterday x
Good morning Michael, Annie, to come and all others. It started off bright and sunny here, but has now clouded over, and is very windy.
I had planned to change the bed this morning, but if it's raining, not a good idea.
Yesterday I hung new bedroom curtains, and took the others to 'my' charity shop. The new ones have blackout linings and they are very good, much better than the old ones. Will be lovely in the summer, whenever that may be.
Mommawolf, how mad are some folk? You will have to put up scary pictures of your fiercest beasts, next to your non -access signs. Still I suspect it won't deter the daftest trespassers.
Hoping that Luckygirl managed to get some rest last night.
Also thinking of Squiggles and The Gillybobs. Is tomorrow the day, Gilly. ?
Marydoll, do tell how your Hot X Buns turn out.
Have a good day one and all. Keep dry and safe.
Oh my goodness, everyone sneaks in while I am posting.
Lots more to catch upon ?
Thanks all for the lovely welcome, I’m looking forward to participating, it’s a really nice thread.
In other news the heavens have just opened and I have just got literally soaked while clearing up my dogs ? in the garden. I knew I should have left it till later!
Good morning from a wet Isle of Man. It’s my last day here as I shall be heading home to Malta later today.
Last night we went to see The Sound of Music at the theatre which was very enjoyable. The cast did a lovely job, especially the children who were wonderful.
Sorry to hear you are snowed under with responsibilities again, gilly. I wish there was someone who could help you.
Hope everyone has the best day possible.
I think I will go back to bed now, before I change the sheets.
I meant to write Scribbles, in my first post. Apologies for changing your name. ?
And welcome to all the new folk.
(I'll see what else I've managed to screw up, in a minute.)
Good morning from a bright and not too windy NE.
DIL and GDs visited yesterday afternoon, they arrived all rosy cheeked from ice skating at Beamish museum.
Today they are off to York for the day, I am sure they will enjoy it.
Thinking about having lunch out but everywhere might be busy with it being half term.
Thinking of all the poorly people and the carers too.
Good morning from windy, wet Nottingham.
Online food shop to do & library later on.
Welcome Brook, Shelmis & Newquay
Thoughts with gillybob & her DH.
Hope all not well or struggling have a better day.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from a very blustery and dull mid-Notts. The wind is really howling around the house and down the chimney. Hope your appointment goes well Marydoll and thank you again for your kind words yesterday. Welcome to all the new posters- I'm relatively new myself and everyone seems so lovely and supportive. Wishing everyone a good Thursday x
Good morning everyone. I'm a 'newbie' - just joined Gransnet! I live abroad but hoping to return to the UK (my homeland) this week.....
Where I am it's a sunny morning but we have snow, vast quantities of snow which has been here for many weeks. Today I have to finish packing my boxes for my move. Sadly the removals company seem to have messed up; they have my money but I wonder if they will turn up....they keep altering the date and now tell me "at the weekend" but I'm inclined to doubt them (who does removals over a weekend??)
Perhaps you kind people could all send collective positive thoughts on this for me?!
I know the UK is windy, wet, and currently lots of poor folk are experiencing floods - my heart goes out to you - but I would give anything to be back home in the rain right now...
Good morning all from a wet wet wet South Wales. Wishing you all the best day you can, and hope the Gillybobs' hospital appointments tomorrow go smoothly.
Mommawolf's story reminded me of a time in the heatwave of 1976 when we were camping near Bodmin and woke in the morning to see a cow peeping through the gap in the front opening! We left quietly and slowly so that we didn't 'spook' them.
Best wishes to all.
Good morning Mick and the GM team, from a grey east London.
Welcome Brook, Shelmiss and Newquay.
Mommawolf perhaps their experience engaging with a goat, in the early morning, will deter your ‘guests’ from ill-advised camping in the future. ?
Like others, I am so pleased that things went peacefully and well for Luckygirl. Sending good thoughts to Scribbles and Gillybob and all facing challenges today.
Have a good day ?
Morning everyone from a now Wet NE, it was nice when I left for work but has now changed, as long as it stops for when I go home. Quiet day at work, boss has rang in sick, something he very rarely does. Had a phone call from DH when I got in from work I had forgotten to put his shoes on lol I knew I had forgotton to do something, daughter will have to put them on for him when she comes down. Had a lovely catch up with my eldest grandson last night and lovely seeing our great grandaughter, and all the other children at the party. Gillybob it sound like you have your hands full, its lovely to see them or have them overnight but lovely when they go home. We used to have the older grandchildren every Friday night they always took turns, but we don't have the room now for the younger ones to sleep over, which is a shame. Hopefully the Housing Association will get their fingers out and get us a 2 bed bungalow, but I am not holding my breath. Hope everyone has a good day, and that you get sorted Gillybob for your DH operation.
Good Morning All x Lovely " newbies "too, Welcome. It's taken me over half an hour to read all the posts
Miserable day here on the Costa Mersey, blowy wet and it looks as though it's in for the day. I won't be going far that's for sure.
Imagine camping in this weather Mommawolf, sounds like they've absconded. Good on the goat. I'd have a gaggle of geese as guards meself hahaha.
Busy fiddling with the TV as programmes have changed their usual slots. We were warned of course. I'm bound to forget the station numbers so I'll just switch to menu if I want to watch something.
Hoping everyone's appointments/tests go well and to those who aren't so well and struggling, hope things improve.
Hello Mick and everyone and lots of good wishes to everyone, especially to those facing such awful challenges and pain. I am starting to cry today - am finally allowing myself to know more fully that one of my children is leaving the UK in a few weeks to live permanently hundreds and hundreds of miles away in another country - and taking two much much loved grandchildren, who I've been seeing regularly most of their lives. I will miss them - I will be deeply sad - and of course I will finally accept. But I'm not there yet.
Welcome Dreamwanderer ?your return to the UK goes well.
Applegran
Good morning from blue skies in north Scotland. Quite dazzling and unexpected. mommawolf. We have no campsites that take tents anymore, which is sad for people trying to holiday on a tight budget, so we often have trespassers. If only they would be honest and knock on the door, as some occasionally do, they could be directed to a safe spot, rather than trespass and be a risk to animals and themselves. Manners and respect. We also have a lot of camper vans that park just anywhere and leave rubbish which is a risk to animals. They just do not want to pay campsite fees. Oh dear, rant over, half term problems. Off to have my tea in the sun good wishes to all in the sickroom.
Just to say- back from the doctor’s and making a coffee now. Apparently I have a fatty liver (like the rest of me then).
Advised to make lifestyle changes - less butter, brisk walks etc.
Thanks to all for the good wishes on here - much appreciated.
?
Good morning from Northumberland, was bright first thing but now wet and weary looking. Good blow out walk yesterday from warkworth to alnmouth and back, with ‘little sis’, DB3, DP and two dogs. (Just a thought, is there an acronym for sister as S seems to be used for son). Went to a very nice cafe on the edge of Amble after. (Amble actually has two nice cafes, one at either end of the village and both with vintage shops attached to them. Just thought I’d mention it in case you’re ever passing). Back to London today so hope drive back will be as easy as the one up. Have a good day.
