Married at 20, first baby at 24. Living abroad so no family to turn to. I often wonder how I did it. Husband worked away a lot.

Laurensnan Sat 29-Feb-20 09:42:55

My husband and I met at 15. Married at 20. 1st baby at 21, 2nd at 23 and 3rd at 25! We've been married for 37 years next month and have 3 grandchildren age 9 yrs, 6 yrs and 6 months. I feel I made the right decision having kids when we did. I was a registered childminder for 28 years so I was able to stay at home to raise my children and have my job too. Perfect world for me.

So glad I had them young
DH and I are reliving our youth now except now we have the money to holiday and treat ourselves
Would change any of it. Has so much energy when they were little to play and not care about mess. I loved it

I was 17 when I had my first , 19 for my 2nd 21 for my 3rd and 26 for my 4th , great having them young could do loads of things with them older parents can’t do, and was still young when the grandkids came along 34 for 1st grandchild , so still young enough to do things with them to, loved it

I was 18, and she was adopted, my choice.
2nd child, I was 25, and got married.
3rd child, I was 36. An eleven year gap between them. They are all adults now and thriving.

Cambia Sat 29-Feb-20 10:13:03

Married at 19, first son at 20 and second at 22. Still married and happy and so glad we had them . At 64 we have two grandchildren of 12 and 16 and we enjoy them so much. We still feel young enough to understand them and have plenty of energy.

My youngest son and his wife are still trying for a baby at 42 and I feel sad for them.

Saggi Sat 29-Feb-20 10:16:07

Married at 21(way too young) and decided wasn’t ready for a baby yet , as it turned out my husband was one already! So had my daughter at 26 ...then two miscarriages.... then my son at 30.

cupcake1 Sat 29-Feb-20 10:16:22

Married at 19, son at 21, twin son and daughter at 24. Negative: Too young to have such a great responsibility and totally clueless. Positive: Still young enough to be able to run around after DGC!

I was 18 years old when I had my first born, I got married when I was 16 I met my husband when I was 16, when I got married, everyone said I was pregnant which definitely was not the case., I was married for 34 years, then he became abusive and I had to go to women’s aid I was there with them for 7 months, I’m now engaged but will not get married again.

HannahLoisLuke Sat 29-Feb-20 10:21:06

Almost 19 for my first one, 23 for my second and 47 for my third, with second husband.
Trouble free pregnancies for all three, was still horse riding up to a week before the birth with my first, jodhpurs fastened with a rubber band.
All three labours sixteen hours, no pain relief even though I'd requested an epidural for my last. They delayed giving it to me until it was too late to have it so I had to carry on without.
First and third were hospital births, middle one at home, had to leave a New Years Eve party to get home in time. The very grumpy Scottish midwife asked if I'd had a drink, I hadn't and also said she hoped I hadn't called her out on a wild goose chase! My daughter was born an hour and a half later.
She wasn't my usual midwife and she made the whole experience unpleasant with her attitude.

Married at 21, first child nine months later. Eldest great grandchild now 22.

Bellasnana Sat 29-Feb-20 10:24:26

DD1 when I was 25, DD2 when I was 27, married their lovely father when I was 28, then had DD3 at 32 and DS at 35.

Happiest years of my life when they were all at home, bringing their friends. I don’t regret a minute of it and would do it all over again if I could.
