N&G I for one am glad that Grampy lives to fight another day. We are rather fond of him. Best keep the leg of lamb for when we turn up in the charabanc. If you remember, the last time we descended on you, we had hearty appetites and you sent us all to the local chippy. wink

soop Sat 14-Mar-20 13:25:19

I should have written dizzyblonde . I apologise for the missing "e".

Susan56 Sat 14-Mar-20 13:29:50

We have made the decision to postpone our holiday,we were due to travel in a couple of weeks but it is trivial in comparison to having to cancel a wedding, feel for your daughter kitty.
DGD came home from preschool yesterday and showed us how to wash our hands and told us we have to say hello and goodbye by bumping elbows. When it was time for us to leave,we bumped elbows then she jumped up to give us giant cuddles and kisses??
Ann, you have given DH and I a giggle!
Stay safe everyone and thinking of you all?

dragonfly46 Sat 14-Mar-20 13:39:14

Happy Birthday Lins hope you have a lovely day.

My DD is due back from Australia next Saturday. She is then planning to come up and retrieve her dog. In the meantime I have my last chemo so I hope when she comes she is not infected.

soop Sat 14-Mar-20 14:03:53

dragonfly hmm It's such a worry especially when you have a compromised immune system.

Izabella Sat 14-Mar-20 15:37:23

Happy birthday Lins

Sourdough bread and home made jam on the side for all.

Carillion01 Sat 14-Mar-20 15:42:04

Dear dragonfly, after all you have worked through please stay safe. Xx
4.30pm here, just got back from our picnic. DH loved the fresh air and bacon butties. Didn't venture onto the sand, didn't expect him to but he did have another walk to the gate and back yesterday. Very proud of him although he's impatient with himself. Xxx

Carillion01 Sat 14-Mar-20 15:43:36

kitty sending a big hug and love. Xxx

kittylester Sat 14-Mar-20 15:56:29

Thank you carill!on.

Photo of yesterday's birthday boy and his mum.

Also a photo of Wolfie who, according to Bertie, face planted!!

kittylester Sat 14-Mar-20 15:58:16

Dragonfly can any different hand over be contrived?

Lins1066 Sat 14-Mar-20 16:16:45

Welcome Dizzyblonde.
Thankfully only one candle on the birthday cake Smileless - a Unicorn, courtesy of a three year old - or else the smoke alarm might have been triggered. The cake is a Victoria sponge, home made and delicious.
Thank you all for your kind wishes, you have no idea how much they are appreciated.
There are dainty sandwiches, ham, cheese and egg and cress..
BBQ chicken, mini pork pies.
There are a myriad of cup cakes, lemon drizzle cake and millionaires cheesecake and cream. Dainty plates, care of soop, and a variety of tipples.
TOYA ???

Lins1066 Sat 14-Mar-20 16:18:49

Lovely photos kitty, there is a slice of gluten free cake for you ?

kittylester Sat 14-Mar-20 16:23:50

Thank you! lins, is anyone else feeling really lowered by the flipping corona virus. I cant seem to stir my stumps to do anything. And, as for being deprived of the dgc.....sad

soop Sat 14-Mar-20 16:39:36

Special photos, kitty.

Carillion Your husband is making amazing progress. More (((group hugs))) especially for him.

Lins1066 You certainly know how to spoil us lot with a superb birthday spread. I have made bought a Tesco finest carrot cake for the buffet. There was a bottle of proper Champagne lurking in the cupboard. Shame to leave it there. HAPPY celebrations and many more to come.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 14-Mar-20 16:39:48

kittylester I am thoroughly fed up, couldn't go up to my sisters this weekend haven't seen her since Christmas sad

Have got the beginnings of a chest infection and feel horrible, but due to her circumstances cannot afford to infect her.

As for not seeing the GC............???

annsixty Sat 14-Mar-20 16:43:26

So sorry to have missed the party lins it all sounds delicious.
Happy birthday to you.
kitty my H andS would certainly approve of the sweatshirt on the birthday boy.
Both were/ are lifetime Rams fans.
Whatever does Grandfather say?

soop Sat 14-Mar-20 16:44:01

You are a star, Izabella. Thank you for thinking of us all.

My middle son, now in his mid fifties, has been on the phone for a lovely, long, newsy chat. We've all agreed to "watch and wait" and hope for the best. Our annual family gathering is planned for two months time. Staying positive. It's the only thing to do. smile

Galen Sat 14-Mar-20 16:44:27

Not seeing the dgc is the worst of it I think. Wonder if they’ll recognise me when I do see them in x years time!

soop Sat 14-Mar-20 16:45:51

Oh dear, GrannieGravy, I meant to say how sorry I am to hear that you have a chest infection. Bless you. Keep warm and rest for as long as it takes for you to recover. flowers

soop Sat 14-Mar-20 16:47:03

kitty Mum and son are very alike. smile

Dec46 Sat 14-Mar-20 16:47:21

Not visited for a while. I've been trying to get things in place in case I become ill,I'm usually healthy, but realise I'm more vulnerable living alone.Today I packed an emergency bag, toiletries, underwear etc and redoing my Will on Wednesday all quite depressing but necessary.
However I've decided to look ahead to 2021 and plan a special Birthday celebration to enjoy with friends instead of just planning my Funeral which I'm sorry to miss!

soop Sat 14-Mar-20 17:05:31

Dec46 I appreciate your quirky sense of humour. grin I shall be eighty next year. You've planted the seed of how best to celebrate in my head. So...I shall give the matter some serious thought.

First of all...a twenty minute spin on my exercise bike is next on the agenda.

I am sending all good and positive vibes to you lot. TOYA. I have every intention of joining you all tomorrow in our kitchen. smile moon

kittylester Sat 14-Mar-20 17:31:43

It's not just Pa, ann. All his aunts and uncles on our side are avid Forest fans. His mum, on the other hand, would be hard pushed to name a football club at all. grin

Bellanonna Sat 14-Mar-20 18:41:49

I’ve beaten you to it by a year soop, so September sees me celebrating 80 years. A bit scarey. I think Dec46 will be 75?

CherryCezzy Sat 14-Mar-20 19:01:09

Maw I didn't come into the kitchen yesterday so I hope you got my birthday message on mick's thread. Sounds like you had a lovely day ?.
Bit late in the day but hope you are enjoying your birthday ???.
Welcome dizzyblonde. I'm a newbie too ( joined 3rd March). I'm also in my mid-fifties and not a grandmother. I'm not even a mother. I am an aunt to 2 adults, one girl, one boy. Both my DB and DSil died a good while ago ( there was 20yrs gap between DB and me). My DB has 3 boys and I feel like their 'surrogate' Nana, even though I can't be anything like the real thing.

Things went bump (again) for me this morning (I was still asleep) when I fell out of bed due to (another) seizure. I 'came to' on the floor and realised I had taken the whole duvet with me. I'm a bit bruised ? but I live to fight another day grin.
Sorry to hear you are under the weather GrannieGravy. flowers.
Sorry to hear that so many of you all are having such disappointing interruptions and postponements due to this dratted CV. Hugs to you all
Lovely photos kittylester.
Be kind to yourselves everyone.
TOYA x
