Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s sunny but very windy. The palm trees are dancing like crazy!

I hope it calms down by 2pm as Mondays = my ladies group at a buzzy local bar = wine + tapas + friendship. My favourite afternoon of the week ha!
???

Hope your swollen eye continues to settle down Susan56 its often the way once we make an appointment isn’t it?!

Sensible I think GG13 to perhaps attend the gym less - age & asthma are a consideration aren’t they?

kitty you made me laugh about the choice of colour for your new carpet! Your husband doesn’t really stand a chance there.
?

Marydoll your comment is unsettling to say the least. I hope issues get sorted pronto.

gillybob I will pop back later to see how things are in your household. Did you get your tooth/mouth sorted in the end? I recall you’d had 3 courses of different antibiotics.

Hopefully Monday will be kind to us all whether we have any plans or none. x

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Dreary but dry in South Yorkshire. I have been awake half the night and feel as if I have been run over by a bus! DH is cheery and full of beans! He’s singing!! We cannot possibly have singing this early in the morning! Nothing much planned today except to walk down to the supermarket and buy some bread, and custard tarts to take over when we do the school run later. Have the happiest day you can, and hugs to all who are struggling.

Good morning to all from a sunny south west London. Got to make soup this morning, and go to my sewing class this afternoon. Book group this evening, quite a busy day. I was sorry to read about the nasty comments on good morning Sunday, it's obviously been taken down as I couldn't find it yesterday. Have a good day everyone.

Mythbirtthedragon Mon 09-Mar-20 08:39:28

Good morning from east London, bright and sunny outside. Tennis at lunchtime today and this evening, a stand up comedy show in town. Had quite a big response yesterday after putting late BIL’s car up for sale; thankfully DD’s partner went thro them all and sorted out a realistic purchaser, trolls seem to be everywhere. Have a good day.

conor Mon 09-Mar-20 08:40:24

Good morning all from a bright sunny Essex. Lovely day yesterday as more visitors for the new baby so DSs house was busy again and no cooking for me. I could get used of this!! Disappointed on Dancing on Ice final as my favourite didn't win! Marydoll I did see the unsettling post on this thread last night and very confused by it all?
Cleaning and local shop for me today. Hope the shops haven't run out of essentials. Hope everyone has a good daysunshinexx

It hasn’t grannysyb I’ve just read it. If you go into ‘Forums* choose ‘chat’ and scroll down.

This seems such a distressing way to tarnish the memory of Mommawolf who seemed a lovely woman and kept us all entertained, every morning, for eight weeks.

I for one (like others) am convinced she was a genuine poster. And her daughter too when she informed us of her death in a tragic accident.

Since then? Some ‘newbie’ posters have upset me I’m sad to say.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Walking Netball this morning and spring cleaning this afternoon. We tackled the shed yesterday and have given away a lot of excess pots etc. Hope to do the same indoors.

Good Morning from Co Armagh . It is very dull out but I have hung out the washing anyway , it is getting a good blow .
I can see a lovely Blackbird foraging in among the border plants , I hope he is depleting the slug population! The mini daffodils have all got a slightly chewed look

Anniebach Mon 09-Mar-20 08:51:25

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning all from sunny Perthshire.

A perfect day to get on with more pottering in the garden now that I have been out with my neighbour for an early morning dog walk.

Best wishes to gilly, Dragonfly and others dealing with struggles.

Have a pleasant day all.

dragonfly46 Mon 09-Mar-20 09:05:40

Good morning, pleased I didn’t wake up til the rain had gone kitty it is lovely and sunny now.

Planning a small shop this morning but taking DH with me in case I fall over ?.
Hoping to feel better today as I had a long sleep.

Got the robot mower working yesterday at the first attempt so just sitting back now.

Pleased your eye is feeling better Susan and welcome to the newbies.
Still have Mary, sorry to hear your sad news,, Ellen and of course Gilly in my thoughts.

Auntieflo Mon 09-Mar-20 09:07:32

Good morning Michael, Annie and all. It is a beautiful bright and sunny morning here, and I am being lazy, taking a long time over breakfast. Well, why not. I have nothing concrete planned.

DH has a blood test appointment later this morning, then is off out to lunch with his friends, so, I may venture into the garden and tackle the weeds, of which there are many.

Kitty, don't have a dark carpet, it will show every spec of anything.
Custard tarts Greyduster, are they the Portuguese ones, or the English ones?
Either way, buy an extra and send it on to me, please. smile

Like others, I have been puzzled and upset about the posts relating to Mommawolf. I so enjoyed them, then the sadness of her reported death and the nastiness that has come since. I cannot believe it was all a big con.

Sending all the best of good wishes to all the ones on our sick list. Thinking always of the Gillybobs.
Have a good day one and all.

gillybob Mon 09-Mar-20 09:07:51

Good morning from the NE coast where we have a lovely bright and sunny start to the day.

Managed to finally spend a couple of hours in the garden yesterday. It was lovely being outdoors. I cleared up as best I could but the soil was quite damp so the patio and path are in a bit of a mess today . It’ll just have to stay like that for the time being.

Still waiting to see a specialist about my mouth Urmstongran thank you for remembering. The pain isn’t so bad but I still can’t lie on my right side or my face swells up. Have still got that horrible burning sensation in my mouth too. Wish I hadn’t started that root canal work and just had the damned tooth out in the first place. I can’t bring myself to go back to that dentist as I am now terrified and I never was before.

I found last nights posts quite unsettling too Marydoll and feel quite upset by it all. As I mentioned on yesterday’s thread Mommawolf (Jess) sent some kind PM’s to me only a few weeks ago. I tried to look them up but they had all been taken down on the first day we were told she had died (even the ones from me to her ) sad

Off to “that place” for Monday morning torture in a few minutes. I always spoil my weekends for worrying about Monday (my absolute worst day of the week) . How I envy those who can just enjoy each day as it comes . ?

Hope we all have the best day possible.

Love Gillybob xx

Btw meant to say Grammaretto when we lived in Glasgow we were told that the Scots spoke the best English!

Taichinan Mon 09-Mar-20 09:11:12

Good morning all, this time from a little hollow in the middle of Scotland - back to the Angus coast later. Poorly DGD3 is much better and will be back to school tomorrow. DD spent a lovely day with friend yesterday walking in the Lake District in howling wind and freezing rain (how can that be wonderful?!). Nothing planned for today except for 90 minute drive home. Later on I shall pop in to see the new Instructors of my old tai chi class - at their invitation I hasten to add! - to see how it's going. I too saw that post Marydoll, and wondered. ...... Very sad. As you say, this is a happy, up-beat and welcoming thread. Have a pleasant day everyone and keep cosy and dry. Thoughts and ? to all those who are poorly xxx

Mapleleaf Mon 09-Mar-20 09:17:27

Good morning all,

The sun is shining for the moment, but it's not meant to last.

I have a funeral to attend today. A colleague who became ill and gradually deteriorated. Very sad.

I hope the GNHQ can get to the bottom of what appears to be going on. All I can say is what is wrong with some individuals that they feel the need to deliberately upset others and try to derail things?

I hope you all have a good day, and ?to all feeling unwell or sad.

Callistemon Mon 09-Mar-20 09:49:56

Good morning all from a sunny and calm S Wales, however, I think the forecast is for more wind and rain!

Sorry to hear that your mouth is still hurting and causing you bother, gillybob, what a so and so it has become.

We're supposed to be going out shortly so I must go and get ready instead of hanging around with you 'lovely lot', much as I enjoy your company.

Have a good day, or the best possible one
Best wishes to all who are having difficulties or are under the weather

vena11 Mon 09-Mar-20 10:02:00

Good morning from a dry sunny Bristol.
Just back from the school run and a walk, thought we would do our walk this morning as its to rain later.
Nothing much planned just the school pick up later and get them their tea. hope everyone has a good day and dragonfly and Gillybob I hope you have a better day.

Grammaretto Mon 09-Mar-20 10:27:39

I don't know who was derailing who! I thought MaryDoll wrote an excellent post in which, to paraphrase, she said:
It doesn't matter if the posts are real or invented, we should respond just the same in the spirit in which they are written. (is that what you said MaryDoll?)

Some Scots accents and voices are very clear, it's true Dragonfly . Bill Maclaren - the voice of Scottish Rugby and Magnus Magnusson - still miss him on Mastermind.
The Borders accent can be enjoyed here:

Good Morning All x
How the dickens can it take 2 hours to shower then cut and prepare veg for my pea and ham soup ? But it did !
I breakfasted at 07.45, showered at 8 dressed----washed hands again smile then began peeling and cutting veg and here I am after another 20 minutes reading posts.
If I'd been working I'd have been well out of the door within no time.

Anyway, it's fine and sunny so far if a little breezy. The gulls were squawking earlier so a sign of windy weather. They drown out the lovely songbirds.

Must get the hoover out, but unfortunately the cats will scarper as they don't like it at all. What with that and the bin men, they need tranquilisers grin It's because it's so quiet here that the least noise disturbs them.

Susan I imagine you use a warm cloth to bathe that eye ? There's not a lot else you can do really. Maybe the GP can prescribe an antibiotic ointment. It's not pleasant for you at all.
You'll be feeling down too Marydoll after your news, poor child so sad.
Go easy Dragonfly and take care when out.
Thoughts to Gillybob and others who find themselves battling on through illness or upset. So many lovely grans to name. xx

BlueBelle Mon 09-Mar-20 10:57:18

Good morning everyone late to post today been busy (not housework I might add)
Hope everyone’s well, a fairly bright start but seems to be dulling over now still very cold in East Suffolk
I do hope this nastiness stops I must say I ve missed most of it but I don’t understand where it came from, or why, that’s where I m puzzled ..why ?
On to a happier note I m off to meet school friends today for lunch some I ve known 70 years We all moved away and had careers, families etc most of us had drifted back to our home time over the years and now meet up every month
Happy days

Morning All, and especially all the new posters. Had a lovely day yesterday and spoilt over in the road, breaking my glasses and cutting my head!!! After a visit to our local urgent care - just to appease my dh and family, I have now got a large plaster on the front of my head, not very good for the photos tomorrow for my Great Grandaughter office adoption service, will have to stay at the back. I see to miss quite a lot of posts on hear, and never get a good morning Saturday, so find it difficult to cat up with what is happening. I have everyone keeps well.

grandMattie Mon 09-Mar-20 11:39:26

Thank you all for your very warm welcome! I am touched to tears...

Still nice, but not for long, methinks - cleaned t all the door jambs and handles. I loathe cleaning! Making gluten free brownies and 5 doz cup cakes now. shall be knackered by the end of the morning.

lavenderzen Mon 09-Mar-20 11:41:02

Good morning from a very cold Derbyshire. Looks like snow may be on the way!
So after all those posts! I was upset for days.
Hope everyone has a good day, I shall put the heating up and try to get warm.
Take care all the poorly ones and those with worries.
