In Gemini Towers we have a new plan to help us survive the isolation. A daily timetable . It will begin tomorrow and follows helpful hints from the tv tonight.

7am Dawn chorus. Opera singing in the back garden.
( thanks to Gareth Malone for the suggestion. Husband not keen. I have a sore throat but nevertheless....)

10am old fashioned PT hour jogging round the daffs till out of puff. No kit ? Do what we did in the old days. Tuck vest in.

11am Tai Chi or our version thereof. Also in back garden ( hope it doesn’t rain )

Lunch
PM
2pm Chinese language lesson . Could prove useful.
3pm Meal planning using Blitz cook book. Spam fritters maybe ?
4pm Meditation hour. In garden if fine. Loud chants of Om and banging of gongs/chimes /dustbin lids or whatever’s to hand .
5pm Watch Big Brother Boris’s guide to isolation for the old guys on the telescreen.

I’m too tired to plan the evening. Any suggestions ? Would any one like to join us by videolink tomorrow ? ???‍♂️??

I’m going to teach my husband Pilates! We’ll see how long that goes, before we end up having a row! ?

I don’t understand all the angst. There’s a whole new world to explore within these four walls.

Gaunt my (new) dear friend ! ☺️We are not GOING anywhere. Hahaha.
But we can have a virtual ( nearly put virtuous ) glass at a time to suit you. Mine’s a g and t - go easy on the ice.

Gemini oh come on, I fancy The Olde Shippe don't you? That group of ancient sea farers will be over by the ingle supping their jugs of sea water flavoured with bits of sea weed and the occasional pebble (times is hard) telling ancient sea faring tales. And if the male voice choir are in they might let us join in the sea shanties. What do you say?
Two gin and tonics please.

Twist my arm !
What shall we do with the drunken sailor ?

Omaoma57 Fri 20-Mar-20 12:33:51

As I usually go to the gym with my buddies.. social distancing has meant a complete rethink. So today.. a run with hubby around the local canal, then some Pilates, then a walk, all keeping very far away from anybody. Afternoon, language course for an hour.. watch the news and maybe then out into the garden to try and sort stuff out a bit. Tomorrow much the same... i cook from scratch so thats an hour of my time used uo but the evening's will have to be reading and trying to find something to watch on TV

Somewhat tongue in cheek I suggested to DH that he could pass time by addressing our Christmas cards (have some in hand). I'll not put stamps on he says - you know, in case! confused my ghast was flabbered!

See you at 3pm Gemini. I've dug out the yellow, spotted thingy, which is on the small side as I haven't worn it for 50 years - it was at the bottom of a drawer, which I've now sorted into an orderly fashion. I'll be doing butterfly stroke, as it's more energetic and will improve my biceps! This morning I took the dog for a lovely walk around the lanes, saying hello to the sheep and nodding to the alpaka, then suddenly he spotted another dog, lunged and pulled me over, dropping the lead - I was not amused angry. He is now in the doghouse! Looking forward to my swim grin.

Jane10 Fri 20-Mar-20 13:11:22

I'm up for the virtual swimming too. I'll be chubby dipping (skinny dipping for avoirdupois challenged)

Hi all. Having to start knit and natter a little early as I have to go out.
Lesson one.
We will be knitting with wool. Wool comes from sheep.
This is a sheep (Gertrude if you are interested. Lives on a nearby farm and has offered to help providing supplies)

Jane10 Fri 20-Mar-20 13:52:03

What do you mean you have to go out!!!

Doodle Fri 20-Mar-20 13:52:34

Gertie (as I’m allowed to call her) will also help with any novice knitters as she is a dab hand with the needles too having learnt from her grandma BaBaa when she was but a lamb.

I have put a bag of wool on the table and supplies of knotting needles so help yourselves.

Doodle Fri 20-Mar-20 13:54:47

jane10 just in the garden to put in some plants not elsewhere ?. Please note, the knotting needles are just for jane10 who wants a nautical theme and the other needles are for knitting ?.

Newatthis Fri 20-Mar-20 13:54:56

Not a morning person so I would miss the 7am singing and 10am PT but the Tai Chi sounds good.

Doodle Fri 20-Mar-20 14:01:43

Coffee and walnut cake ? on the side for later......I said later jane ?.
Would those who have knitting skills please assist the new knitters. I thought we could start with something simple like a scarf ? or gloves ? for the more adventurous, socks ? or woolly jumpers ? (no not that sort) for the more experienced.
Now while I go round and help with the casting on will someone sort out a brew brew and we can all get going.
As mentioned I will have to pop into the garden to check up on DH so Gertie will keep an eye on things. Would anyone like to comment on what they are knitting.

Jane10 Fri 20-Mar-20 14:20:54

I'm going to knot myself a lovely bathing costume for the virtual swimming at 3. I'll leave the cake till after that as I'll need something restorative.

Gaunt47 Fri 20-Mar-20 14:22:40

Can I use up that big pile of black yarn which everybody seems to be avoiding? I'll knit a blanket.
jane that cake's for everybody you know.

rowyn Fri 20-Mar-20 14:54:26

"I'm going to knot myself a lovely bathing costume for the virtual swimming at 3"
Jane 10, isn't that macrame?

Littleannie Fri 20-Mar-20 14:56:34

I am still studying the cut your own hair video on YouTube. DH has sharpened the shears for me.

Gemini17892 Fri 20-Mar-20 15:12:27

Knitted swimsuits eh ? My mum actually knitted herself one of these after the war and was really embarrassed the first time it got wet . ?
Ok then hold nose jump in. Arms up. Kick legs. Patsy70 take that cap off you look silly. Like your cozzie though ???
Right that’s enough of that !

Gemini17892 Fri 20-Mar-20 15:18:52

Doodle ? You there ?
I’ve got a pattern for isolation scarf for your knit and natter group .
Thanks for the delish cake. Wasn’t much left after Jane10 got at it though.

HillyN Fri 20-Mar-20 16:28:23

I tried knitting and nattering but looking at the result I think I'd be better in the knot and natter group. confused

Patsy70 Fri 20-Mar-20 16:30:41

Phew, that was exhausting and the water so cold shock. Looks like I'll have to make my own cake! cupcake

Gaunt47 Fri 20-Mar-20 16:43:19

You do know Patsy that what looked like a yellow scrap of cloth was found at the bottom of the deep end don't you?

Doodle Fri 20-Mar-20 17:31:57

Phew. Sorry so late back folks. I got stuck in the greenhouse.
So let’s see what have we all been up to.
jane what an interesting project. Are you sure the pattern you’ve chosen is wise? The holes seem to be in some, ahem.. interesting places blush
gemini oh yes a wonderful pattern that would be a good one to follow.
gaunt a blanket would be a good choice. Sorry about the cake, I will bring a Victoria sponge tomorrow and make sure you get yours before jane has a slice (scoffs the lot ?)
