No thanks, although I will listen to what Boris has to say, and then thank God that Corbyn isn't PM.
"Old fashioned" expressions that young people have never heard.
In Gemini Towers we have a new plan to help us survive the isolation. A daily timetable . It will begin tomorrow and follows helpful hints from the tv tonight.
7am Dawn chorus. Opera singing in the back garden.
( thanks to Gareth Malone for the suggestion. Husband not keen. I have a sore throat but nevertheless....)
10am old fashioned PT hour jogging round the daffs till out of puff. No kit ? Do what we did in the old days. Tuck vest in.
11am Tai Chi or our version thereof. Also in back garden ( hope it doesn’t rain )
Lunch
PM
2pm Chinese language lesson . Could prove useful.
3pm Meal planning using Blitz cook book. Spam fritters maybe ?
4pm Meditation hour. In garden if fine. Loud chants of Om and banging of gongs/chimes /dustbin lids or whatever’s to hand .
5pm Watch Big Brother Boris’s guide to isolation for the old guys on the telescreen.
I’m too tired to plan the evening. Any suggestions ? Would any one like to join us by videolink tomorrow ? ???♂️??
No thanks, although I will listen to what Boris has to say, and then thank God that Corbyn isn't PM.
I have such good intentions but enthusiasm is dwindling - however cupboard clearance is top of the list.
Rosyanne
Today I should be at yoga. We've all agreed to get our mats out and all do our yoga at home at the usual time. We'll I'm not. I'm skiving!! So naughty. After yoga we usually all go to a cafe for a coffee and chat. I'll happily join the virtual coffee and chat session at 11.
This a strange kind of freedom.
well you made me laugh here
friday morning when I got here.
just back from visiting our local Asda to an hour or two of designated time for self isolators
what a laugh,, it was packed.. and still trollerys, the deep ones, over flowing...
but I got my paracetomol, so I won`t complain.
now what can I do?
You're going to be popular with the neighbours if you sing opera at 7am in the garden!
Glad I don't live next door to Gemini. Opera in the garden at 7 am. I would have to break my no swearing resolutions.
Thank you Lucca. That made me chuckle.
I started the day with a lengthy discussion between me, myself and I as to whether I should tackle the washing or the washing up first.
I caught a cold last week. A PERFECTLY NORMAL COMMON OR GARDEN COLD and have absolutely no energy.
Got both seen to and am now printing out the user's manual for my new phone, which I hope will arrive, as promised, today.
I drowned my old one in fruit juice, one day when I started coughing while pouring a glass.
Well I have time for a quick post before Tai Chi. I I love tai chi because in my case it just means waving to my neighbour over the garden wall.
Dancing queen went so well it carried on into PT hour. Good job spy cam was turned off. The sight of none too slim OP jogging in her oversized Sloggis could have gone viral on You Tube.
Gaunt47 was an absolute star. I could hear her from my garden . She knows all the words.
Quizzer don’t be miserable! ? Gareth Malone ( my guru ) says everyone can sing. He doesn’t know that I was chucked out of the choir at primary school for not keeping in tune. And that at high school I was spent most of the time in the cloakroom next to the music room because she threw me out for talking during the Trout by Schuman or Schubert or somebody . If you join my choir you can choose the next song.
Patsy70 You have given me a brilliant idea… Virtual swimming
The thing I hate about swimming (apart from the fact that it’s exercise ) is that not only do you get freezing cold but you get water in your eyes and on your glasses. You have to dress in the most ridiculous garments and you have to take your kit off in front of everyone else but .....you have given me the perfect thing - virtual swimming!
Anyone else coming for a dip at 3 o’clock this afternoon?
You have to sit in your armchair and wave your arms around a bit but it’s not too strenuous. If you want to you can dress in a yellow polka dot thingy but it’s not compulsory.
At the moment i just have the energy to get out of bed and go to the toilet.I am a asthmatic and have been told by the clinician that rang me back from 111 than rang my doctor .Who rang me back that if my systoms get any worse do not call 111 but 999 and tell them potential coronavirus patient
I am going to empty out the cupboard under the bathroom sink, clean it, and sort out the old toiletries. There! Anyone envious? My house will be immaculate at the end of this.
A 'Whatsapp' yesterday that made me laugh so much:
'Your grandparents were called to fight in World Wars. You are being asked to wash your hands and sit on the sofa'.
That's a very upsetting place to be Houdini - sorry my jolly post followed that - I hope you feel better soon.
Gemini thanks, I think I got the harmonies right. But sorry I was half a bar behind everyone, I was literally singing in the shower and noticed the time just a tad late.
I hate getting my hair wet so at 3pm I'll be putting on a shower cap and waving my arms about and making splashing noises.
I am trying to teach my cat & my tortoise to talk 'human'. Cat has gone to sleep & tortoise cant get out more than grunts & hisses. Now going to search the internet to find out how to talk reptile. Cat is easier, just say 'yes Boss' & do as she says.
Rollon going back to Volunteering in my Charity shop before my cat kills me for waking her up!
Good job I love them both!
Well our choir, motivated by one bright spark, has already arranged for 'virtual' rehearsals.
At 10 minutes to 10 each Tuesday , in their own houses, choir members will 'warm up' ( Bella Senora... tata te te etc) , then at 10am sing the songs we were going to perform at our next concert, knowing that others are doing the same.
It will probably be the best sound we've ever made!!! Or not.
Anyone is welcome to join in - sorry we can't send you the music!
I haven't bothered to post before as was lucky enough to be busy and out and about. How things have changed! My good deed for the day was to clean out cupboard under the kitchen sink only to discover a leak. Now we need a plumber!
Also wanted to mention all the amazing staff at our Sainsburys yesterday. It was utter chaos but they were all unfailingly helpful and smiley - even in the face of unbelievably aggressive customers when the doors had to be closed for a while. We're supposed to be 'all in this together'?
This isn't a day long schedule. It's just something that made my day, yesterday. I had ordered some dog food and went to pick it up at the vets. The door was locked and they weren't letting anyone in but the bag of food was there. I offered to pay over the phone as soon as I got home and they were grateful for that.
Once home, I phoned with my card at the ready and the receptionist said, Oh Mrs Popbottle, we didn't realise when you picked it up but it's your free bag! (We're in a loyalty scheme - 6th bag is free but I always lose count.) My exercise was dancing round the kitchen! ??
Gemini - by the way, what time are we all going for a drink this evening?
Here's an idea for the keen swimmers! Get your cozzie on, lie down on a skateboard facing the floor and scoot with your legs while making swimming motions with your arms! I saw a really funny clip of FB of someone in Spain doing that. He was obviously training for a triathlon as he then went past the camera on a child's bike!
No skateboard? Improvise with golf balls or a rolling pin under a tray.
What a lovely surprise !
Did you sing Dancing Queen ?
have signed on for FREE O U course introduction to Latin - lots of other free courses there
Teacheranne ! ???
Would you like to demonstrate please ?
And also explain how I’d get up again if I got onto the floor. Many thanks ?
