Engagement Party and then Hen Party
.........to be broadcasting the announcements about coronavirus measures.
We know him as someone with scant regard for the truth and his manner of delivery is bumbling. He lacks gravitas. I wonder if some of the idiots who have ignored all the rules just dismiss what he is saying because it is him saying it. There are strong feelings about him.
Might be better if the CMO were to deliver these rules.

As someone asked
“Did the brexit dog eat the e-mail?”
But Whitewave; he didn't see the email....so how can we blame him....
My response Labaik is to say, where do you get your so called facts from? (EU email.)
On protective clothing it’s only some who are not getting enough, and of course, it’s those we hear from.My DIL’s hospital have got what they need, but there is such a need for so very much ( in terms of masks etc) that it’s a supply problem, and no doubt will be sorted out as quickly as possible. This pandemic isn’t something that could ever have been prepared for, not by any country in the world.

Johnson’s slogan
“Brexit do or die”
he really meant it didn’t he?
The above was to janipat
endless.....I get exactly what you say, GN isn’t always the best thing to calm any anxieties!
Come back soon.?
So lemongrove; what is your response to the fact that the EU offered to help with the acquisition of ventilators and medical equipment but the government 'didn't see the email'. And why our nurses and doctors are not being provided with the protection they need.
Ah! In that case I do apologise, you are not the ‘former member’ that I always thought you were.
I support what Johnson has done ‘so far’....and as he hasn’t been PM or even Conservative Leader for all that long, it isn’t saying much!
There are many posts by me at the time of the Leadership campaign saying that he would not be my choice ( not that I had a vote anyway) so if you can find one of my posts saying that I thought he would be wonderful, then I will also donate
£100 to the charity of your choice.?
However I do think he is doing well on the corona virus front, not that it’s just him it’s a whole team of people working flat out, and I can’t think that anyone else and their team could do any better.True, he isn’t a details man or a great orator, but seems to surround himself with good people
And of course, the medical experts.
I believe in, and trust, the medical/ science advisors Boris is taking advice from. To not believe in what our government is trying to do, is also not taking the experts advice. I for one, have become anxious as so many others have, and gransnet is making me worse. So I’m unsubscribing...... for now, until it’s all over. I wish all of you the best and pray you stay healthy.
And for the record lemongrove I voted LibDem, not Labour!
Haha lemongrove I absolutely loathe Corbyn, no supporter of his and if you can find one post of mine where I ever have supported him I'll donate £100 to a charity of your choice. There's a challenge for you, prove your lie! You on the other hand would support Johnson not matter what, and are happy to ignore any proof of his incompetence.
The figures about the testing came from Johnson's own mouth, you can find the recording on youtube. The testing figures are actually official ones! I am not constantly trying to point score and I resent your unfounded accusation. So you're perfectly happy for Boris to tout enormous totally artificial numbers, not out just by a tiny bit but nowhere near. I despair, if the government are not held to account to do what they are claiming then we'll never get through this.
I know that you say upthread you are not a left winger janipat...
But I did read your posts on politics for quite a while!
It’s not about being in thrall, it’s about seeing that everything that can be done ( reasonably!) is being done, and as far as I can see, having being tuned in to all announcements since this crisis began, it is being.
Arguing about figures from various sources is a fruitless exercise. It’s a national emergency not a debating society.
Instead of nit picking about ‘discrepancies’ in the figures being touted around, look at what is actually being done.
There will always be discrepancies, because these figures come from different sources.
If you were not such a Labour supporter janipat who supported Corbyn at every turn, you would not be trying to
Constantly politically point score at every opportunity.
They're now saying that didn't agree to EU help with getting ventilators etc because they 'didn't see the email'.
lemongrove as someone who criticises anyone who isn't in thrall to this government would you care to comment on my post about the huge discrepancies in the figures being touted around? It's not unreasonable to expect at least accuracy from our government.
You are absolutely right IMO francisfun
Jane10 I agree with you all the way, (and if not aggrieved left wingers, what on earth are they?)Aggrieved Lib Dems or aggrieved Greens maybe.
They can’t say who they would like to be in charge but moan constantly about what Johnson and the Cabinet are doing.
It’s to be expected though.
As for all the Corbyn critics, I am not a huge fan and hoping we will have Keir Starmer leading the Labour Party soon, however he did say something quite profound in PMQs the other day.
He pointed out that this pandemic has:
made it clear how deeply we depend on each other in our daily lives. ... “At times like this, we have to recognise the value of each other and the strength of a society that cares for each other and cares for all
This was in particular reference to people like cleaners, supermarket staff and delivery drivers who are not highly regarded by some in more privileged positions, but whom we are now depending on to keep us all safe and fed. As well as the fantastic NHS workers and other emergency services of course.
I hope once we are on the other side of this crisis we can all respect one another's contribution to society a bit more.
"Squash the sombrero" Greymar?
He absolutely did. While looking quite pleased with himself at his amusing turn of phrase. He can't help himself apparently.
Janipat, I think deliberately misleading is probable. It must be so lovely to have faith that they are hard at work, behind the scenes, organising and preparing everything.
I tend to think it's desperate damage limitation. We just don't have the resources (and can't increase them fast enough) to deal with the looming disaster. I blame everyone who voted for the destruction of our safety net, the running down of services, the shrinking of our police force - for what? Oh, yes, to pay a little less tax!
Winters coming folks.......
Didn't see you've already answered your own question
WOW
Who is your question for Greymar? franceisfun or me? If me, yes I heard it with my own ears, one of the few I have listened to, I prefer to read written accounts.
Yes he did, I can't believe it.
He didn't really say that did he???
