Just came back in, bbrr cold out there, after the clap - gawd that sounds soooo wrong!! Round of Applause - much better. Clapping started just before 8pm here. Nobody to be seen but lots of use of sticks on metal and metal on metal (spoons I think). Cold evening but warmed the heart ❤️

Here’s something to make you all smile

CherryCezzy Thu 02-Apr-20 19:58:26

Glad to be of service Smileless ?

You start it Doodle and I'll smuggle or break in ?

Doodle Thu 02-Apr-20 19:45:12

greyduster my DH has had a lockdown letter too. I am joining him in the lockdown as we don’t have enough room to be separated from each other even if we wanted to.
You too cherry. Perhaps we ought to start a thread. The lockdown gang and their partners in crime ?
izabella that is a seriously lovely awwww moment.
You son is doing a great job soop (and so handsome too ?)
charley is Tara having spag bol and red wine too? I hope you’re not leaving her out ?

Smileless2012 Thu 02-Apr-20 19:35:58

Of course Charleygirlwinewaste not want not. I'm quite happy for Dylan to come for a visit but I must insist on having it in writing, in triplicate with at least 6 witnesses that he'll come home; eventually.

A definite Aaaaaaaaaah from me Izabella

Oh Cherry now I can't get that song out of my head!!!

TOYA

Charleygirl5 Thu 02-Apr-20 19:02:39

...............that is Tara saying hello.
Izabella definitely ahhh. He/she is gorgeous.

Smileless a house cat would be lovely for me and he would get so much love, affection and attention he would not want to return home.

Tara has just come home so I can start my supper. Spag bol and it is so much nicer when I use red wine for cooking it and no way could I leave a lovely bottle like that on its own so I will have a couple of glasses.
TOYA

CherryCezzy Thu 02-Apr-20 18:59:45

Aaaaaaaaaah absolutely gorgeous Izabella

Can't help with regards the sloe Gin Greyduster as I don't drink alcohol at all and my WP finds sloe Gin too sweet, he likes a gin & bitter lemon though. Those pesky letters, I got one too - no same room too. Don't see how that'll work for us.. hmm ??? On a lighter note I have been singing "Always look on the bright side of life" all day - keeps the chin ( and knees) up ?

Like Charleygirl I think I too saw your son on tv soop. He's raised a princely sum too ?

TOYA

Izabella Thu 02-Apr-20 18:32:48

Aaaaah. All together now

Nannytopsy Thu 02-Apr-20 18:11:52

There’s only one answer Greyduster - suck it and see! Please give us your verdict. If it helps, slow gin is nice with sparkling white wine! ?

Smileless2012 Thu 02-Apr-20 17:57:55

No he doesn't have a cat flap Charleygirl as being a sphynx he's a house cat. Goes outside on our roof terrace but only if it's warm enough.

He's well able for himself if our cockapoo annoys him so I'm sure will have no problem being Tara's champion.

I've never had sloe gin Greyduster but maybe a neat gin is in order in light of your DH's lock down letter!

Have a good evening everyone, I'll be thinking of you all clapping along at 8.00 pm. TOYA

Greyduster Thu 02-Apr-20 17:42:39

Ok, so here is my burning question of the day. I have run out of gin?. Has anyone put tonic in sloe gin, because I have lots of sloe gin! I feel as if I need a stiff drink because DH has had his lockdown letter from the surgery so it looks like we are now seriously confined to barracks and, if I read it right, shouldn’t even be in the same room!! He says he’s going to lodge an appeal with the GP but I don’t think it’ll get him very far and anyway, after years of my patient training, he’s predisposed to doing as he’s told!
Well done to your lad, Soop! That’s a goodly sum he’s raised.
Hope everyone is staying well out there. TOYA.

soop Thu 02-Apr-20 17:28:05

Bye for now. I will be back with you all tomorrow. All kind thoughts and thank you for your company. smile moon

soop Thu 02-Apr-20 16:40:01

Charleyg Correct! He's a legend in his own home. grin

Nannytopsy Having pedalled furiously for thirty minutes, I am in need of malt loaf with lashings of butter. Hang on...I shall make a brew for us lot.

Charleygirl5 Thu 02-Apr-20 16:10:42

Smileless Dylan will have the house and me to himself until around 7 pm I am sure he would love that. Has he got a catflap? Tara's male bully has attempted to gain access but he has not quite mastered it yet- still- it has only been two years.

soop your son was on TV recently was he not- "mountaineering"?!!

TOYA

Nannytopsy Thu 02-Apr-20 16:03:17

Malt loaf with cherries and fruit on the table. Sadly, I didn’t have any walnuts. I feel lashing of butter needed for this!
We have spent the day cleaning and tidying today and I am about to cut DH’s hair before I clean the kitchen floor. Back in the garden tomorrow ?

soop Thu 02-Apr-20 15:55:49

Oh my word, with all this wonderful food around, I had better pedal my exercise bike for a wee while. No pain. No gain. Or words to that effect. wink

Smileless2012 Thu 02-Apr-20 14:16:01

Afternoon ladies. You've certainly been busy Nannytopsy it's looking good already.

I've put your proposal to Dylan Charleygirl and he seemed pretty pleased although of course it may not be for some time yet.

There's a thought Grandmafrench maybe I should goonto singles and make the G last longer; on second thoughts, maybe notgrin.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 02-Apr-20 13:00:25

Hello folks x

I have escaped to the haven that is my bedroom, DD has finished this mornings "lessons" with the five year old GC and they are now watching a Disney film.

Mr,GG braved Aldi's this morning as provisions were low, (especially the wine fridge). I have made up a cleaning solution of 1 part bleach to 5 parts water, I wiped all the shopping rigoursly Mr.GG looked worried when I turned towards himgrin

We now have lamb chops, new potatoes and veggies for dinner later - yummy!

Whilst tidying a wardrobe shelf yesterday I found two new crossstitch kits so they shall keep me out of mischief.

I have left some apple sponge cake on the side ?
