Welcome!

Susan We feel that little Henry is one of us lot. Virtual gentle hugs especially for him.

corner Men! How many times has MacS murmured...I don't know how that happened...and I respond with a special look. wink

When I fell a* over t** in Tesco a wee while ago and was taken to hospital, the hip that is causing me jip, was badly bruised right over the ball and socket. Our GP phoned and thinks that the pain I'm experiencing is connected with that tumble. Anyway, I am going to see him early next week. We shall see.

I dare hardly say that there is the promise of yet another gorgeous sunset. I cannot resist taking photos. I have hundreds on file. All beautiful, all different.

Time to shower. Time for a brew. Time to change into my "leisure suit" - baggy top and elastic-waisted pants...no bra. Bliss!!!

Love to you all. I intend returning to catch up with you in the morning. smile moon

Susan - here's hoping the new medication does the trick
Soop - thank you for yet more lovely photos
N and G - I expect the young father will take some time to live that one down!

I am trucking on quietly and trying to take each day as it comes. The highlight for me is reading to DGD aged 5 at bedtime via facetime. We are deep into Enid Blyton. Sometimes she gets mummy to ring me in the afternoon because she can't wait for bedtime for another chapter.

I lost my cool a little with one of my neighbours who was complaining that the paper and cardboard bins are now only collected every 4 rather than every 2 weeks. I snapped that these men are risking their health and we should be damn grateful we are getting any rubbish collected at all. I further suggested he should pin a thank you note to his bin.

One of my neighbours and her children arrange a different scene of teddybears in their front garden every day. Today the teddies are having a tea party. It never fails to raise a smile.

Thank you for all your lovely words about Henry.x

Afternoon ladies.

I agree dragonfly alcohol is always welcome and the more to share it with the merrier, so cheers GrannyOwlwineand a warm welcomesmile.

It could well be hay fever dragonfly might it be worth taking some allergy medication to see if the symptoms ease. We give half a tablet a day to our little poodle because he has an allergy to grass. Our vet suggested a couple of years ago we use 'over the counter' ones as it's a lot cheaper then the ones they'd supply.

I thought we didn't need to stop until lock down was over Charleygirl; have I got that wronggrin.

Brandy and babycham now there's a blast from the past Purplepixie, with so much to choose from it's getting very difficult to say no, and I wouldn't want to offend.

Great news about Henry's medicine Susan early days but positive all the same.

Congratulations of the new arrival to your family N&Gflowers it will be some time I'm sure if ever that that over excited dad's allowed to forget that the son he thought they had was a daughter.

Do take care of that hip soop. It's great you have such a good GP but even so, better safe than sorry.

Poor Mr. C cornergran, sounds like he's been a bit accident prone today. Mr. S. has days like that too, never just the one always at least 2 or often 3hmm.

Feeling better than I was this morning now this week's trip to Aldi is over. Lost my cool with a lady who just didn't seem to understand the concept of social distancing; she walked toward me, in the wrong direction and then reached across to get something off a shelf.

Men are the worseangryand seem incapable of following the directions of the arrows on the floor. Mr. S. laughs at my total lack of direction but at least I can follow the direction of great big arrows on a supermarket floor.

To say I was a little stressed and slightly annoyed by the time I got to the car with a trolley full of shopping would be an understatementangry.

Time to take the dogs out and then bath Dylan when I get back before tea.

Take care everyone TOYA.

Hello grannyowl, delighted to see you, you’re just in time. A glass is seriously needed here.

Mr C is now banned from anything red. So far we’ve had to clear up from a spectacular nose bleed, more red stuff from a cut toe ‘I don’t know how I did that’ hmm and a few minutes ago tomato on the cream rug. Now, I can ban the tomato, thinking hard how I can ban blood. So far got no further than Dracula grin.

I hope the new regime will settle Henry, susan, lots of positive, hopeful thoughts for you and your family.

Your medical support is superb soop, good to know it’s there for you.

New life is precious n&g, no matter the gender smile. Lovely to hear good news. The seasonal clothes swap also happens here. Only two sweaters? You’re hopeful grin.

Well, I have an urgent date with a garden chair and a book. It’s a hard life.

Be careful out there everyone.

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners.

Thank you soop for that lovely gallery of sunsets.

Welcome GrannyOwl!

Charleygirl5 Fri 24-Apr-20 13:27:13

Welcome GrannyOwl- you may not realise it but the AA are rushed off their feet already with this lot. It is very kind of you to bring more alcohol but no is not in their vocabulary- most do not know when to stop.

Susan sorry to hear about the young man but he is receiving superb treatment- let's hope that the latest medication works.

soop the sunsets are just gorgeous. Your GP will tell you to rest and if that does not help the pain he will send you for an xray. Joking apart, please, please look after it- you are doing it no favours.

Purplepixie You spoil us lot something rotten. I can almost taste the apple pie and custard...my mouth is watering with anticipation.

soop Fri 24-Apr-20 13:02:18

dragonfly Do you think that you are suffering with a severe dose of hay fever? Keep us updated please.

N&G Welcome to the world, little newborn. sunshine

Susan56 It's kind of you to take the time to update us. Little Henry's recent setback must have seriously affected all the family. He is far too young to understand what is happening to him. Poor wee one, he will be feeling awfully confused. Please may there be a significent improvement before too long. Love to you all. smile

Purplepixie Fri 24-Apr-20 13:00:28

Also welcome Grannyowl5! [smile}

Purplepixie Fri 24-Apr-20 12:59:30

Soop - Thank you for the beautiful photo, so stunning. It looks like you live at a lovely part of the world.

I’ve brought along warm chocolate chip cookies and an apple pie which I made this morning. Scampi and chips for tea tonight and then apple pie and custard. All are welcome.

Usual ritual of hot toddies tonight with a brandy and babycham or two. Have the best day that you can have and see you all later. Stay safe.x

soop Fri 24-Apr-20 12:50:57

A warm welcome Grannyowl5. We're happy to share our cake with you. We are equally happy to accept your thoughtful gifts. Pull up a chair and we'll all have a glass of cheer with our lunch. flowers

NanaandGrampy Fri 24-Apr-20 12:50:26

Afternoon all!

I have been doing the great seasonal clothes swap. In our new small home I cannot just leave all the clothes out lol Year so about this time I swap winter to summer. Being a sensible girl I left out a couple of sweaters in case lol

Welcome GrannyOwl ! You HAVE been paying attention bringing alcohol ! We love our cake but some of us love our alcohol too ????

Glad Henry’s new medication is doing better Susan. Our SiLs sister had her new baby yesterday . She is so looking forward to getting home with her ......but...... her husband announced the birth of their little boy, re using that 20 mins later to it being a little girl !! I am not quite sure how he got that wrong but we will be chuckling at him for quite some time!

Beautiful sunset Soop , that’s chicken soup for the soul!

Enjoy the sunshine all x

dragonfly46 Fri 24-Apr-20 12:48:26

Susan so pleased to hear the new medicine is helping. What a worry for you all.

soop what a wonderful GP you have. I hope he has good advice about your hip. We are able to get a telephone appointment any time we want at the moment which is a plus but they do not see you of course. I have one this afternoon as recently my eyes just stream and stream. I am hoping there is a solution.

Welcome GrannyOwl you will find it very calming here in the kitchen thanks to soop and many others. Yes alcohol is always welcome.

I have just ordered a big bag of flour from Amazon so will be bringing cake in due course.

Soop, thank you for asking about Henry.Been a difficult couple of days with quite bad reactions. Our daughter phoned the gp on Wednesday who immediately phoned the hospital. She had a call from a member of the paediatric team within half an hour.He has been given a different medication and the consultant will phone next Thursday for a review and depending how things are will arrange to see Henry. Its only been a day but the new medicine seemed to be helping so fingers crossed things will improve.
Thank you so much everybody.Your care and support means such a lot to my whole family.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 24-Apr-20 11:53:32

Beautiful photos soop

GrannyGravy13 Fri 24-Apr-20 11:53:04

I was going to get up shower and hair wash, was even contemplating a touch of make-up..........unfortunately the baby (15 weeks today) had DD up all night resulting in her having a migraine so I have been on Granny duty since 7.30am. He has finally gone to sleep on my shoulder so I ave to sit and watch daytime tv.

Keep safe and well kitcheners ?‍♀️

GrannyGravy13 Fri 24-Apr-20 11:47:22

Grannyowl5 all alcohol is welcomed by me.

GrannyOwl5 Fri 24-Apr-20 11:43:22

Hello the kitchen...after peeping round the door frame for a while I have decided to take the plunge and push the door fully open. I have followed all your alarms and excursions with interest and admiration and feel I ‘know’ many of you already. I am not a great baker of cakes, but come bearing several bottles of alcoholic content which I hope might be acceptable ???

soop Fri 24-Apr-20 11:34:21

Last night's sky was stunning...hope that these photos cheer you.

soop Fri 24-Apr-20 11:30:46

Charleyg The GP's wife has just delivered our morning paper. She remarked on how quiet the local surgery is. I mentioned the hip. She is going home to ask her husband to give me call. Dear, kind people. We are blessed.

soop Fri 24-Apr-20 11:28:13

Carillion I took several of last night's sunset. Found it really difficult to select a few faves. Will share with you later.

Susan What is the latest update regarding little Henry?

Nannytopsy The world has changed almost beyond recognition BUT many peoples have helped to make a real difference during the lock-down. and social distancing. In a sense, there is a new connection that will never be forgotten once our lives return to something like normal.

Dearest ann No need to go anywhere that unsettles you. Folk who need to be abrasive are never going to have any appeal, and I steer as clear as I can from their posts. flowers

Charleygirl5 Thu 23-Apr-20 21:57:19

soop if you are not careful I will be saying buggeration to the lockdown and inviting other GNs to join me visiting to nag you and MacS about doing too much in the garden.

This is not the time to injure your hip and you should expect it to last another 10 years. A revised THR is not an option at present so please, please stop the excessive work in the garden. Nag over.
