After the fun ?we had yesterday, trying to solve a maths puzzle , I thought I would post a simpler one, then we can build up the difficulty over the period of incarceration!?
Not only do you have to solve it, you have to explain how you got your answer. ?
Good luck! There will be an ? from the teacher for all of those who solve it.

The trouble is I just found it by luck..
Is there a method that I should be using?

The problem solving strategy is: Guess, check and improve.
It's also good to keep a note of what you have tried already if it doesn't work.

Put them in order in the square then use arrows, it makes a diamond, then draw in the lines, if that makes sense!

Whitewavemark2 Wed 01-Apr-20 11:53:06

A lot of guessing ?

calliston what on Earth are you talking about?????. You have to make allowances for my dimness!

Btw are you doing Joe Wicks? I’m doing the senior.

Marydoll, I spend time solving a puzzle and by the time I post, solutions are already there (May I suggest a 24 hour window to give everyone a chance to post? (I live in the US, so many of you have already solved it and I'm just waking up
.....I enjoy these immensely, so here's my solution for whatever it's worth.

PS. If you multiply the median number by 3 it will always give you the sum

Here is one to start you off for the morning.

An assistant at the butcher shop is six feet tall and wears size 10 shoes. What does he weigh?

Your sock drawer only contains 18 white socks and 18 blue socks. How many times do you need to reach inside the drawer and take out a sock to guarantee a matching pair?
