After the fun ?we had yesterday, trying to solve a maths puzzle , I thought I would post a simpler one, then we can build up the difficulty over the period of incarceration!?
Not only do you have to solve it, you have to explain how you got your answer. ?
Good luck! There will be an ? from the teacher for all of those who solve it.

The answer is darkness, but the rest are equally valid. ?for you all!

Now tackle the big one.
What's the missing number and why?

Back later. smile

On the circle puzzle is the answer 17?

Whitewavemark2 Thu 02-Apr-20 09:32:09

Will look at that at lunch time. Busy morning planned?

Bathsheba Thu 02-Apr-20 09:37:58

17

Bathsheba Thu 02-Apr-20 09:39:37

Oh, you want the why as well!

OK, so it's 17 because each number is the sum of the two numbers diametrically opposite, either side of the line.

gillybob Thu 02-Apr-20 10:45:10

What Bathsheba said for the explanation !

gillybob Thu 02-Apr-20 11:47:36

Bump ....I’m waiting for some more of these ....please Marydoll smile

Marydoll Thu 02-Apr-20 11:59:09

An apple ? for all of those who said seventeen.

Sorry Gilly, I've just finished a telephone cardiac consultation, the doc was most impressed at the fact I was posting puzzles for my friends..
Care in the virtual community at it's best! wink

Divide 30 by ½ and add 10. What’s the answer?
Be careful, it's not as simple as it seems!

Marydoll Thu 02-Apr-20 14:14:08

Bump

gillybob Thu 02-Apr-20 14:21:32

70?

Glad you managed to impress the doctor Marydoll . Hope you got some good news. smile

Marydoll Thu 02-Apr-20 14:22:53

Whitewavemark2 Thu 02-Apr-20 14:23:28

Thank you for that I have been looking for this and couldn’t find it.

Will now tackle today’s puzzle

gillybob Thu 02-Apr-20 14:30:42

Oh dear Marydoll you do push those boundaries don’t you ? grin

Callistemon Thu 02-Apr-20 14:31:34

70

Whitewavemark2 Thu 02-Apr-20 14:33:08

17
So starting from three o’clock and going clockwise

1+7=8
5+8=13
9+7=16
7+4=13
4+1=5
And so
9+8=17

Whitewavemark2 Thu 02-Apr-20 14:38:49

I’ve marked myself as being correct?

Hope your heart stands up to our efforts ❤️

_30. =60+10 = 70
0.5

I used a calculator though.

Marydoll Thu 02-Apr-20 14:42:20

That's cheating Whitewave ?
I'm an old fashioned gal, I expect mechanical calculations.
You are all top of the class! ?for your reward chart.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 02-Apr-20 14:51:40

You see that’s where this massive hole in my ability appears!

Marydoll Thu 02-Apr-20 14:54:11

I was only joking. It's great people are having a go! ?

I will be back later.

Triangle puzzle: Add numbers in adjacent triangles on the opposite side of the wheel.
9 + 8 =17

Riddles: butcher weighs beef and to guarantee a pair you must pull at least 3 socks

Most recent puzzle:

(30 x 1)
2
above =15

15 +10 =25

.....and yes, some of you already posted some of the answers, but please keep in mind that it's only 9:30 am here. smile

Marydoll Thu 02-Apr-20 15:01:33

Willa, good afternoon. I respected your wishes and didn't publicly acknowledge the correct answers.

Where are posting from, if that's not too cheeky an answer?

Callistemon Thu 02-Apr-20 15:02:05

Is the butcher one a new one or did I miss it?

Marydoll Thu 02-Apr-20 15:02:25

All correct, apart from the last one

Marydoll Thu 02-Apr-20 15:03:27

Butcher one was a wee, cheeky starter this morning early on..
