Boris Johnson is in intensive care, two weeks into suffering this virus. He is obviously very ill, or he wouldn’t have been admitted to hospital, transferred to IC with 24 hours.

What they had in common was the attempt to be a strong symbol of leadership in unprecedented times. If Mr J survives, and I sincerely hope he does, he will need a period of real convalescence. We need some real consideration to be given to whether a deputy PM should be appointed, someone who can instil more confidence than Mr Raab does . Alternatively, a government of national unity. The LP has a good leader now, the Lib Dem’s not so.
