Although it depends whether the rabbit saw a) 6 individual elephants, on different parts of its journey, or b) saw them all at the same time, all together.
If a) then each elephant saw 2 monkeys each holding a parrot, so that would be 6 x (2+2) = 24, plus the rabbit, making 25 in total.
If b) then the elephants all saw the same 2 monkeys, each holding a parrot, so 1 rabbit, 2 monkeys and 2 parrots = 5 in total.
I'm not even going to post my answer, in case I get it wrong! Miss Marydoll's maths class would never let me forget it. I too was overthinking, looking for catches.
