Tomorrow I’m going to drive 150 miles to Devon & spend the day with DD3, DGD & DGS. I’ll take the children on the beach for the morning so Mummy can get on with her work in peace! We’ll have lunch at the posh fish & chip restaurant then walk back through the park. Maybe have a beach BBQ in the evening. I haven't seen them since January so lots of catching up to do. ...... if only

I’m going to don my walking boots and rucksack and meet up with my walking group and walk the Norfolk Coastal path in this glorious weather.

On the way home I’m going to stop off at a Fish Restaurant and have a meal that I haven’t had to cook myself!

I'll drive to Leeds Castle, stoll around the grounds and go to the coffee shop out by the maze for lunch then watch the birds of prey display. Stroll back a different route or maybe take the land train.

I'm surfing on my favourite surfboard through the rolling waves with my DCs and then we've made a fire on the beach and we're watching the sunset.

DH is fishing for trout with GCs and he'll cook that on the fire. Then we'll have a midnight feast with family. Loud music is being played ....can you hear us all singing?

Never surfed in my lifegrin I've got very little coordination but one can dream

I am going to meet up with my whole family tomorrow for lunch at our favourite restaurant. I will have a special hug with my new grandson.
Later some of us will go to the theatre.

I am sailing with my ex, AC, GC and GGC on our Sunseeker to the French and Italian Rivieras and having the fun that we enjoyed when our AC were children. Swimming, diving and exploring along the way. We'll map our journey and the children will

...(blast, posted too soon)
children will write about the places we are going to visit and take photos of each other doing handstands off the deck and racing like madcaps along the beach, sinking tousled and tired into our arms to be carried onboard and into their beds. No routine, just pure fun.

Tonight DH and I are dining at a little French bistro. We will be having freshly made fougasse, tuna salad and chickpea dip.
Then we are heading off to the theatre to watch a fabulous production of Treasure Island. We might even have cocktails during the interval.

As an aside, have any of you do e a YouTube virtual walk. We revisited our honeymoon, and had a virtual walk around Positano. Beautiful.

First thing I’m getting my hair cut then off to Liverpool to see my son who is having his gap year there ! Long awaited ride on The Dazzle Ferry ⛴ across the Mersey . Lunch somewhere of his choosing and a mooch around John Lewis to treat him to something nice . Check into the hotel we normally stay at , drink in the bar before wadding to dinner at The Art School Restaurant .
Leisurely drive back in the morning to Reality .

NotAGran55 Thu 16-Apr-20 16:45:27

Wadding ( ?) = heading smile

I'm off to Liverpool on the first train in the morning - a 9 hour journey. I used to live there and miss it. Will stay in the Youth Hostel near the Albert Dock where they're so welcoming and then go to the Anglican Cathedral and drink in the atmosphere and after that go to a cheap cafe in Bootle and chat to locals and feel like I'm home again. I wish.

I’m off to the Roseland or Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. 3DDs sons in law and 2 DGS. The weather will be warm and sunny and we will just be together enjoying the freedom of our caravans and the beautiful beaches, coves and villages.

ArtySue Thu 16-Apr-20 23:03:10

Wave at me on the way ginny cos I'll be leaving Cornwall when you're coming here... ?

GabriellaG54 Fri 17-Apr-20 00:43:53

ArtySue
I've stayed in that YHA a few times when I go 'back home'. Great breakfast.

ginny Fri 17-Apr-20 06:58:55

Will do ArtySue. I’m on my way !

NotAGran55 Fri 17-Apr-20 07:07:57

Artysue If you get off the train in Wiltshire or Berkshire you could come with me in my car - it would be great to have some company . I’m setting off soon after my hair cut ?‍♀️ smile

I can drop you off at Albert Dock , it’s near to my destination.

If anyone fancies coming to New Zealand, I'll treat you to the best breakfast ever at Elevation, which has a beautiful view as you eat your gourmet food.

I can then take you to the top of Mt Eden, which is an extinct (we hope) volcano and you can sit with your legs over the edge of the crater and enjoy the views of Auckland to the Waitemamta Harbour.

A visit to the Museum where you'll see many fine exhibits and the history of the South Pacific. A Maori kapa haka will entertain you.

Back to my place for a lovely salad; will you have salmon, cheese or chicken with that?
A slice of home made cake or butter shortbread with a cuppa on my deck will help you relax.

Then it's off to Music in the Park, one of the many free concerts where, depending on what sort of music is featured, we can 'do a Glyndebourne' (oooh, posh) or be a bit more casual with folk or rock.
No need to bring the wine, I have a few bottles chilling in the Eski.

Taxi home and one last conversation on the deck as the sun goes down and we sip cocoa, hot choc or Horlicks, or even another glass of wine.

See you soon grin

I'm finally going to work to finish my latest project. And then I'm heading to my DGD's graduation party, I've prepared a special video with congratulations for her, used some nice templates, but I still hope to attend her party in reality!
After that I'd go straight to the opera or maybe the cinema. I miss spending time watching or listenig to something good outside of my house.

Nata Fri 17-Apr-20 07:46:16

BradfordLass73 I'm in! New Zealand has been my dream since i can't say when!

morethan2 Fri 17-Apr-20 08:27:48

ninathenana I’ll wave to you as we pass Leeds castle on our way to Folkestone. We’ll park at the Lee’s and walk towards Hythe following the coastal road. We will stop and watch and listen to the sea. Fish and chips for lunch then catch the bus back to Folkestone. Before we leave we’ll sit on one of the benches and look out at the English Channel.

ArtySue Fri 17-Apr-20 08:32:11

Thanks NotAGran55, will do! I'll see you at a station somewhere in Wiltshire - you choose (cos I don't know any of them ha ha) - I'll be wearing a knitted carnation. grin

ArtySue Fri 17-Apr-20 08:34:44

And GabriellaG54 lovely to meet someone who knows that YHA. Can't wait to get back there.
