Happy St Georges day to all Gransnetters in England and beyond. Best wishes from this Gransnetter north of the border

I thought he was born in Turkey and his mother was from Palestine (now the Israel part), also part Persian and was a Roman soldier from a Christian family.
He is also the patron saint of several other countries.
So quite cosmopolitan!

Alishka the children made "self-portrait" dolls for Mother's Day.
Left to right they are the same 2 year old boy, a 4 year old girl, 8 year old girl and 10 year old boy.

We may think of St George as English but he was Greek but then the same applies to Prince Phillip smile

V3ra, perhaps you both can customise some other kitchen tools? You both seem to have a special talent, it'd be fun to do, and it would be lovely to see and give us a laughsmile

All Hail to St.George!

FACT of the Fictionwink

During the Middle Ages people turned to St.George for help during epidemic diseases, including leprosy and Plague.shock
Never more relevant than today, surely?

B9exchange Thu 23-Apr-20 16:22:42

Happy St George's Day to everyone. I would have put the flag out, but sadly only seems acceptable to do that when England are playing football! grin

V3ra Thu 23-Apr-20 16:18:42

it's also the date of Shakespeare's birthday, and co-incidentally the same date that he died.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 23-Apr-20 14:04:23

lemongrove Thu 23-Apr-20 14:03:34

Cry God for Harry, England and St George [not the present day Harry] grin

Maggiemaybe Thu 23-Apr-20 14:00:23

St George's Day? Is it? I've barely got my head around what day of the week it is. grin

I'm quizmaster in our family Zoom quiz tonight. I'd better get some questions about England in there. And get looking for that flag we bought for a long ago World Cup. hmm
