Happy St Georges day to all Gransnetters in England and beyond. Best wishes from this Gransnetter north of the border

Well thanks and happy St George's Day to you and everyone.

I agree with grannypiper. Why an Irish shamrock but nothing English, Welsh or Scottish? Please give us a red rose, a thistle and a daffodil.
? (just found a red rose in the computer emojis but no thistle or daffodil).

St George's Day? Is it? I've barely got my head around what day of the week it is. grin

I'm quizmaster in our family Zoom quiz tonight. I'd better get some questions about England in there. And get looking for that flag we bought for a long ago World Cup. hmm

lemongrove Thu 23-Apr-20 14:03:34

Cry God for Harry, England and St George [not the present day Harry] grin

GrannyGravy13 Thu 23-Apr-20 14:04:23

Happy St.Georges Day folks ??

lemongrove Thu 23-Apr-20 14:04:38

it's also the date of Shakespeare's birthday, and co-incidentally the same date that he died.

Missfoodlove Thu 23-Apr-20 14:10:11

B9exchange Thu 23-Apr-20 16:22:42

Happy St George's Day to everyone. I would have put the flag out, but sadly only seems acceptable to do that when England are playing football! grin

Jabberwok Thu 23-Apr-20 16:25:30

God for (the Queen!) England, and St George, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Prince Louis! Not forgetting Shakespeare, birth and death!!

Alishka Thu 23-Apr-20 16:28:07

All Hail to St.George!

FACT of the Fictionwink

During the Middle Ages people turned to St.George for help during epidemic diseases, including leprosy and Plague.shock
Never more relevant than today, surely?
