Removing a hot bowl of tomato soup from the microwave.

No, sadly. Since chemo I no longer enjoy that fuzzy headed inebriated feeling. Just my addled brains to blame I’m afraid.

GagaJo
Had you been at the cider when you posted at 22.10 yesterday?
A faze phase of drinking+spilling eh? Tut-tut ??

Not on myself lately, but I’ve given the carpet two drenchings, red wine and coffee. The fiendish lockdown jigsaw’s on my coffee table so drinks are relegated to the floor. I was quite dismissive when DH worried that I’d kick them over. Thank goodness we chose a multi-coloured carpet.

Himself is nearly as bad. He knocked a bottle of soy sauce out of the kitchen cupboard yesterday and his explanation as to why he hadn’t mopped up was that it was the same colour as the floorboards.

Is it a hazy memory harrigran?

harrigran Fri 24-Apr-20 23:01:14

I never spill water on myself, it is always red wine or the best pink Champagne and the last time was probably lunchtime.

spilling cider

Unforgiveable!

GagaJo Fri 24-Apr-20 22:10:19

I went through a faze of drinking and spilling cider a few years ago. God knows why. The drinking or the spilling.

A can of Pepsi Max today when our foster Pup jumped up and knocked it out of my hand!
She then decided to shake it off her coat and al? Over my best sparkling white cotton Top,
I just hope that it wont stain, its soaking in a bucket of cold water for now, I will put it on a machine wash tomorrow.

I only drank merlot because we had no sauvignon blanc!

It doesn't go so well with fish.
But it was very nice.

merlotgran Fri 24-Apr-20 21:20:23

Merlot's in short supply chez merlot at the moment so it's sauvignon blanc tonight.

You get what you're given these days grin

Can't afford to spill any.

Callistemon Fri 24-Apr-20 20:55:56

We moved on to the merlot merlot

Same vineyard, very nice, very mellow now.

Juliet27 Fri 24-Apr-20 19:16:00

I've just put the sherry bottle back in the wine rack without its lid on! The dog enjoyed licking it up off the floor.

merlotgran Fri 24-Apr-20 19:15:51

Spill it, gilly?

How very dare you. grin

The last time I knocked over a wine some years ago, I didn't realise it had trickled down the frame of a valuable (to us) water colour.

I'd taken it down while decorating and thought it would be safe propped up by the side of a bookcase. I didn't spot what had happened until I went to hang it back up and noticed some serious damage to a lovely landscape.

It cost me over £100 to have it restored. shock

It would have been much cheaper to have chucked it down my front!

Callistemon Fri 24-Apr-20 19:09:43

Mine's a rather nice organic shiraz this evening, too good to spill!

(In case anyone thinks I'm posh, it was on offer).

gillybob Fri 24-Apr-20 18:54:15

No prizes for guessing what merlotgran spills on herself grin

merlotgran Fri 24-Apr-20 18:18:07

I do miss my mouth sometimes.

I think it was Jimmy Tarbuck who used to say, 'I have a drink problem, I keep missing my mouth?' grin

My bedtime hot chocolate a few weeks ago - It got me, my pyjamas, the duvet, two pillows, duvet cover, bottom sheet and hot water bottle cover.

I still have no idea why it decided to take such a dislike to me.

‘Beverage’ has just struck me as a very weird word. But maybe they all do if you say them over and over -beverage beverage beverage beverage...
Sorry, I haven’t spilt anything down myself for ages. I did slop some tea on the carpet recently though. That’ll teach me to try to take a cup of tea up to bed in one hand, with a book in the other, so no hand free for turning the light on, and oops,
tripped over something lying around the hall floor.

Callistemon Thu 23-Apr-20 20:52:41

I didn't spill red wine on myself but slopped it all over the kitchen floor en route to the garden.
I was carrying my dinner in my other hand .

I do miss my mouth sometimes.
DH says "I don't know how you managed to miss your mouth, it's big enough"

MawB Thu 23-Apr-20 20:41:12

That’s like “When did you stop beating your wife?”

I don’t spill beverages on myself. Simples.

BabyPink Thu 23-Apr-20 20:24:39

You done a me then grin. I fell asleep on the sofa last week with a full cup of tea in my hand. Soon woke up when it flooded over my trousers. That was the last beverage I spilled but I'm sure it's time for another soon.

SueDonim Thu 23-Apr-20 20:13:38

I haven’t done that for a few days so I must be due for a sousing. It’ll be my morning coffee, most likely. grin

vampirequeen Thu 23-Apr-20 20:08:30

I missed my mouth when drinking orange squash this afternoon.

Carol1951 Thu 23-Apr-20 19:52:22

A question to pass the time.

I'll start with mine. It was my cup of coffee this afternoon while sitting in the garden. For some reason I thought shutting my eyes whilst still holding the mug was a good idea. Waking up to the sloshing of coffee all over you is quite the experience.

What's yours?
