Good Morning Everyone,
Its a nice bright sunny start here in Brackley this morning.
Yesterday, for the first time in 5 weeks I set foot in the Market Place , as waited for the Chinese take away to open .
Quieter than normal , but still saw many ignoring rules .
But when I went into the take away , they had a plastic sheet up with a gap so you could pay the money.
Partly ate meal, left some for another day.
Today, will do a 0930 Waitrose open , get what I need for the remaining days ,also planning ahead for next weekends meals ,and look at Chicken options ,see what is cheaper boned or filleted.
Mick

I take it back the sun is out in Oxfordshire so it will not be an indoors day after all. Good, DH has an outside door to strip and paint.
I will make encouraging noises from a distance, and supply cups of tea.

Good Afternoon from the NE coast where we have another grey and very cold day. What's to like?

Had no internet connection earlier and seriously thought we'd been cut off grin .

Central heating on.

So sorry to hear about your horrible neighbour MaryDoll why do people like him have to stick their nose into other peoples business? angry on your behalf.

Hope everyone has a better day than mine so far.

Love Gillybob x

A late good morning,in fact good afternoon from a sunny market Harborough. Another day of this eternal lockdown and I will go nuts! In fact I think I am half way there already.

Stay safe. X

Good post kate and marginally better than virtual grans swooping in on broomsticks! grin

NanKate Sun 26-Apr-20 12:09:55

What a dreadful man your neighbour is Mary. I want to give you a virtual hug mary and your neighbour a kick up the b*m. I would keep a written record of every coming and going at your home and then if he sends for the police you have written evidence of everything legitimate you have done. Best of luck ?

Good morning from East London. We should go to the allotment to cut the grass but might go tomorrow when there are fewer people.
I have ordered several packets of sunflower seeds, large varieties that can be seen from the flat.
The fight against the pigeons on the side of the house goes. Humanely. A CD on a pole outside a window and squirts from my super water pistol.
They just laugh.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all from a fairly dull Newcastle. We've got so used to the sun that this has come as a bit of a shock.
Marydoll I am "fizzing" on your behalf. What a horrible neighbour and I can understand how this must have caused anxiety and upset. As others have said ignore him - he's a bully and will hate to think his nastiness has been in vain.

GabriellaG54 Sun 26-Apr-20 10:45:40

Hi GNers...are you all up and ready for another glorious day of sunshine?
BBQs, wine on the drive, roast dinners...what's not to like?
No run today, it is Sunday after all, a day of supposed rest.
After a very early watering of plants and filling a hanging pot on the trellis with a lilac flowering plant (haven't looked at the label) I ate breakfast in the sun.
Thick Greek yogurt with Lizi's treacle granola topped with rhubarb compote.
Very filling and a cappuccino rounded it off nicely.
A request for rhubarb on social media meant that I was able to offer 1 of my 2 remaining bunches to be picked up today.
I shall leave it on the courtyard table.
Had a bit of a fright on Friday after the washing machine door wouldn't open.
Gawd! What to do. There us no 'handle' as such, just a button to press, to no effect.
??
Tried several times with mains switched on and off, looked on Google+YouTube. No luck in finding this model.
Yesterday went through it all again, even a short faux wash but no dice.
Panic mode. Several methods such as credit card and fishing line (used umpteen lengths of dental floss plaited) but no luck.
It's on a broad ledge with a shelf and rails directly above, impossible to move.
Anyway, about 7pm tried again and after leaning and pressing it miraculously opened. Thank goodness!!
Only leggings, sox, pjs and nix but they would have smelled musty if not dried.
Oh joy...I was smiling in my sleep.
Nothing on today, just read, phone calls etc and an afternoon nap in the sun.
Good vibes and ???+☀️ to all. Enjoy your day and take care.
??

Morning all,

Turning overcast here, I think it may rain soon.

Marydoll, I'm fuming on your behalf. What an obnoxious moron. I think you should all just continue as you have done, and ignore him. If you all hide away, he's won - don't give him that satisfaction. None of you have done anything wrong, and if he reports you again, I think the police will be having a stern word with him! Stand up to him, all of you, he'll soon scuttle back under the stone he's come from.

Hope everyone has a decent day. Not sure what I'm going to do. Had a busy morning yesterday, then spent the afternoon sitting in the garden, reading a book, it was so warm. Don't think that will be possible today, though.

GrandmasueUK Sun 26-Apr-20 10:36:37

Good morning all - I'm echoing all the others Marydoll ignore the curmudgeonly one - nickname him Oscar the Grouch!
Lovely sunny day, here again, west of Manchester (ish). Have been up for a while, in pain, after falling downstairs yesterday and discovered yet more bruising coming out. Facetime later with son & his family in Portugal and daughter just up the road.
Not a lot planned for today apart from a roast chicken dinner and keeping an eye on my supermarket shopping for tomorrow. Hopefully, the Jersey royals stay on the list - they have been on and off for a week now! Oh, how I have missed them.
Stay safe and have as good a day as you can.

Susan56 Sun 26-Apr-20 10:18:14

Good morning from the Shropshire borders. Not as warm today and rain forecast later.
Marydoll, what a vile man and what a waste of police time.As others have said you and your neighbours are not breaking any rules.I think you should carry on and ignore him.
Ellan,I understand your anxiety about visiting the surgery.I have to order my monthly prescription tomorrow and am already having moments of panic about collecting it.
Not a lot planned today, roast dinner at some point but otherwise a more relaxing day as overdid it yesterday and a bit achey today.
Have a good day everyone.

moggie Sun 26-Apr-20 10:03:14

Good morning from bright Nottingham.
Short walk y’day & cut the grass while DH stained gates.
Beef casserole for dinner today.
Sorry to read your post Marydoll how upsetting for you & your lovely neighbours.
Have a good day everyone

Good Morning from the Southside of Glasgow and another sunny day.

gma lovely to hear of my fine home city this morning. How I miss the need to water everything all the year round!

Grammaretto Sun 26-Apr-20 09:59:19

Oh Marydoll it's so awful it's almost funny.
Please don't change anything . Maybe wave and smile? This poor individual has no friends so calls the police for someone to talk to.
I am sure this incident will feature in the book you are writing, or could be.

Police were called to a community garden near here because one man was seen working in it!

BladeAnnie Sun 26-Apr-20 09:51:45

Good morning all from an overcast and still mid-Notts. I believe DD or SIL is coming to drop off some shopping he did for us. Whoever comes it will be nice to have a chat from the upstairs terrace. Other than that it's a quiet day in store - I've just started reading 'My Pear Shaped Life' by Carmel Harrington and it's un-putdownable!! Is that even a word?? Stay safe and may we all have a pleasant Sunday x

jacq10 Sun 26-Apr-20 09:50:56

Marydoll - as has been said by others I am fuming. What an idiot! I can't imagine anyone buying a home in a nice cul-de-sac and, at a time like this when everyone needs to pull together (which obviously has been going on), creating an atmosphere and alienating his neighbours. Does he live on his own or have a family around him? The good thing is that you have and I'm sure your DH is as upset as you but can imagine how someone on their own would feel with this going on. Weather not so bright up here today so it's a good day to have an "in house" day and re-charge your batteries. Your many friends on here will be thinking on you.

Gelisajams Sun 26-Apr-20 09:50:09

Good morning from a misty Morecambe Bay. Cumbria has completely disappeared from across the Bay. Just back from this morning’s bike ride. It’s only the fourth time I’ve been out on the bike for years and was feeling I’d got stronger and more confident as I pulled up outside our house. I’m not sure what happened but the next minute I hit the deck to the concern and bemusement of my DH who was just behind me. I leapt up as quick as I could before anyone saw me. Talk about feeling stupid! I don’t seem to hurt at all thankfully except a dent to my pride.
Hoping the Marydoll neighbourhood can work together to rise above the intimidation of their awful neighbour. It’s the last thing needed at this difficult time.
Take care and keep safe everyone.?

Oh hello maybelater. I dont usually join in these threads, but I so love Chester, we were there in February just before all this started. It has given us some lovely memories.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 26-Apr-20 09:47:00

Goodmorning Mick and all x

It is a beautiful clear day here in S E Essex, the birds are singing and the sun is shining.

There was great excitement in Gravy Grange on Wednesday with the arrival of a Morrisons Delivery, even more so as I had managed to get a Tescos delivery for next Sunday.........I have just had an email from Tescos informing me that my delivery will be here between 13.00 - 14.00 today. I do not know whether to laugh or cry, but I do know that shopping at silly o'clock in the morning in order to secure a home delivery is not a good idea !!!!!

Fortunately the bulk of the order is cleaning and laundry products grin

Mr,GG has offered to cook dinner this evening so we have Indonesian Spicy Chicken which is one of his signature dishes

Marydoll if I was in your situation I would just ignore the bugger please do not let his attitude have any repercussions on you and your neighbours lives angry

Keep safe and well folks ?

Maybelater2020 Sun 26-Apr-20 09:35:29

Good morning from an overcast Chester. Still in my pyjamas it is taking longer each day to get up and dressed. Nothing planned but no doubt I will find something interesting and enjoyable to do. Maybe a nice long walk, maybe some gardening or I may even curl up with a book.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Grandmafrench Sun 26-Apr-20 09:32:46

Marydoll don’t let it churn you up! Life is far too short to look as if you’re negotiating with bullies. This man (man?..?)
clearly has form. As others have said, the Police won’t be keen on a regular time waster. As long as households don’t have other households on their property, what you do and what conversations you have shouting to your neighbours must continue. Have fun when you can and if you feel like organising tea and cake in your own front gardens now and again, when you can wave, shout or talk on your ‘phones, why not. Arses like him would probably try to stop the nation standing outside and clapping for carers if he could. You’re all old friends, he’s totally outnumbered and needs to be regularly reminded of that. Carry On Regardless and forget all about it.

harrigran Sun 26-Apr-20 09:25:42

Good morning from a slowly brightening NE.
Sat and read on my front terrace yesterday afternoon, a short chat with a dog walker as they passed.
A neighbour, who has been furloughed, has been accepted as an ambulance driver and he was telling us as he stood at the end of our drive.
I am afraid he is a little naive, when I suggested it was brave of him to put himself in the front line he said " oh I wont be at risk I am just the driver " but then proceeded to tell us that the covid ward at our local hospital is like a battle field scene.
Enjoy the pleasant weather and take care.

EllanVannin Sun 26-Apr-20 09:25:20

Good Morning All x
Where's the sun ? Rather cloudy this morning so a marked difference today. It's very still with not a flicker of a leaf but it could pick up as the day goes on. What does it matter anyway, I won't be going anywhere ?

Marydoll, as if things weren't bad enough that you're made to cope with an obnoxious neighbour as well. What a beast !
A horrible atmosphere you can well do without. It sounds to me as though the man's " lost it " with the lockdown.

I was delighted to have had a phone-call from a lovely friend yesterday. There are 5 of us in our " circle " and we all worked at the same hospital and remained close friends ever since over a period of 30/40 years. It was so good to hear from her. We were all supposed to have met up at her new house for eats and long chats, but-----------sad

Friend is working from home as she is still attached to the NHS, a clever girl with a Masters degree, but beautiful with it and about 10 years from retirement yet, our younger member.

I don't know why but I keep getting worked up now and again as I'm due at the surgery ( nurse ) for an INR and picture myself wrapped up like a mummy grin I've taken such great care socially isolating that it just fills me with horror to think that if you're going to pick something up it'll be at a surgery or hospital. I wish it could be done outside smile

When I was on the phone, I'd had a round of scones baking in the oven shock by the time I got it out you could have stopped a train with it----still edible though.

A couple of lovely lean and thick pieces of belly pork today so I'll roast some potatoes and do some carrots with it. Strawberries and ice cream for afters. That'll keep me out of mischief !

Here's hoping everyone's doing alright in this long " stretch ".
I don't know what I've done to deserve it ! Stay safe and well. xx Hope our Gillybob is coping with things a bit better x

Clear blue skies in Norwich again today, but garden very dry! Sorry but I want it both ways!!sunny warm and rain during the hours of 9pm to 9am!! Will plant courgettes and squash today as rain is forecast for early part of next week !! Hopefully!
Our DD and DS have been and continue to be brilliant!! Shopping, pharmacy and bank all taken care of.....a big treat for them and their families when we return to normality! Our weekly newsletter from DGD hotly anticipated and FaceTime most days!

Grandmafrench Sun 26-Apr-20 09:21:49

Morning all! Day 41 of lockdown......from the figures here, it seems to be working. Unfortunately, it is also hateful.

Sunshine, blue skies, birdsong and food in the cupboard, so must keep on going and finding things to be positive about.

After breakfast in bed, a shower and a stroll around the garden, I’m ready for coffee, underneath an awning.....this will save the annoying but necessary “sunscreen slather” until later.

Going to investigate some online plant and shrub providers today and catch up on emails I’ve neglected this last week.
Have a really good Sunday, if you can, everyone. No wobbles today ?????
