I was reading yesterday that many people are now staying up later and getting up later. Have you changed? We still go to bed around 9pm and get up between 5.30am and 6.30am.

Short walk with the dogs at about 9 pm. Start getting ready for bed after that. Usually in bed around 10 pm. Read for indefinite time, ( depends how good the book is ). Lights out 11.30. Get up as dogs require out usually between 8 and 8 30 am. In summer maybe in bed a little later. Retired so no change during lockdown.

I go to bed around 1am now, sometimes 2 am! I wake up around 8 am, and on and off in the night. My sleep is wrecked along with my body clock ?

luluaugust Fri 01-May-20 11:47:50

Around 11.30 and awake at 7, just slightly later but I put this down to reading more and I do like to finish the chapter.

About 11 here too which is later that pre lock down. Awake between 6 and 7. 5-45 this morning with the neighbour taking his rubbish down to the end of our lane for bin day.

Craftycat Fri 01-May-20 11:36:04

Yes- going to bed between 11 & 12 every night- unless I am watching something good on TV in which case it is later- & waking up about 7.30 ish ( cats see to this!) but stay in bed listening to news etc until about 8.45-9.00.
DH would stay in bed all morning unless I nag him- which I do! To be fair he has always been this way.

Moggycuddler Fri 01-May-20 11:23:21

Staying up a little bit later maybe, but not much change. Bed around 11 to 11.15, up about 7.45.

Juicylucy Fri 01-May-20 11:12:58

Bed around midnight up around 9. Nothing changed here. Always been a night owl.

Petalpop Fri 01-May-20 11:12:32

Bed 10.00/10.30. Up at 5.45 am. Nothing has changed in our house as DH is still working and he takes the dog out before work.

hicaz46 Fri 01-May-20 11:10:12

I’ve always been a night owl so no change in bedtime, usually between 12.30 and 1.00. I am however staying longer in bed getting up at about 8.30. No reason to rush now as nowhere to go.

TrendyNannie6 Fri 01-May-20 11:08:23

Bedtime around 1130, asleep soon after , get up around 7ish

Riggie Fri 01-May-20 11:07:24

Yes but thats because we dont have to get up so early. DH is normally out of the house before 7 for his commute but is now working at home. I am main carer for DS who is disabled so "normally" I am having to get him up, ready and take him to college, but hes not at college either and with dh here, getting ds ready is quicker with teamwork!!

timetogo2016 Fri 01-May-20 10:44:00

Yes ours have changed.
We go to bed between 10-30 and 11pm and bring cups of tea up to bed untill around 11am.
It works for us and makes the day a little shorter too.
It helps me caatrch up with you lovely people too.

Annaram1 Fri 01-May-20 10:43:53

Gosh how early a lot of you go to bed!!! I go at around 12.30 or even 1.00 am if there is something interesting on TV. And I always have to go to the loo at about 3.30. Get to sleep again or if I can't I go into the kitchen and get a drink of Ovaltine. Then sleep until about 6.30 or 7 am, and that is it.

Disneyfan Fri 01-May-20 10:39:40

Bed the same time or at least close to. My problem is staying asleep. I've never had a problem before but I find myself waking throughout the night. Yesterday I gave up and got up at 3.30am!!

NanaPlenty Fri 01-May-20 10:09:14

I’ve always woken up about 630/7 am and gone to bed at 10 but since lockdown I’ve got later to bed in the evening sometimes even reading until midnight (I heard of for me) . My sleep quality (apart from anxiety during the first week or so) has improved and I’m actually waking up feeling refreshed. I’ve been dreaming a lot about all sorts of people and places. I think that living in lockdown has removed everyday stresses for us and we are living a slow simple pace of life so from that perspective it’s been good for us. Missing everyone now though.

Grannygrumps1 Fri 01-May-20 10:06:43

I get up later than I was. But I’ve only recently retired and not got into a routine. But I stay up later as I now feel I need to watch the 10:00pm news.

ninathenana Thu 30-Apr-20 16:34:31

Bedtime is still 11ish. DH gets up anytime between 5am-7.30am I usually get up about 8-8.30am.

maddyone Thu 30-Apr-20 16:28:38

We’re usually in bed around 10.00 to 11.00. Wake up about 8.30 to 9.00 to find DH is already up and about. He brings me a coffee in bed and we have a little chat or watch a bit of SkyNews before I get up and dressed. This last week I’ve banned the news in the morning because it depresses me. The timings are similar to our normal routine, but if I had somewhere to go to I would have got up earlier. There’s nowhere to go to now.

Hetty58 Thu 30-Apr-20 16:17:11

Usual times are around midnight - then up and about 5 or 6 am. If I feel tired I'll have an afternoon nap for an hour or so. Then I might not be sleepy until 2 am. It hasn't changed and doesn't matter at all now that I'm retired.

AGAA4 Thu 30-Apr-20 15:17:44

Usual bed time of 10.30 but wide awake at 6am almost an hour earlier than usual.
This means I am dozing off about 9.30pm and missing the end of my programme so don't get to know whodunnit!

SalsaQueen Thu 30-Apr-20 14:24:21

I go to bed 10.30-11ish, get up a couple of times in the night, then I'm up at 7.

Witzend Thu 30-Apr-20 12:53:11

I don’t have a usual bedtime.
A lot will depend on how I slept the night before (often not very well) what time I woke up (varies enormously) and whether I had a zizz on the sofa in the afternoon.

I don’t know why I so often don’t sleep well nowadays - there’s no rhyme or reason to it, and no common factor at all.

Tweedle24 Thu 30-Apr-20 12:45:19

Before this I was off to bed after the 10pm news headlines and up about 7.30 but, I have been going to bed later and not waking until 8ish.
Last night I went to bed earlier and was up and about, showered, dressed and laundry started by 7.30. I suddenly realised that I have still been living in GMT. Need to get into BST ? - a bit later than everyone else in the UK!

tanith Thu 30-Apr-20 12:42:35

In bed but reading by 10:30 awake with a cuppa watching the news in bed by 7 and up by 8ish I would normally be in the shower by 7:30 but nothing much to get up for now.

Oopsadaisy3 Thu 30-Apr-20 12:41:12

We stay up much later, midnight ish often just reading or listening to music, but I often wake up usual time of 7am. DH stays asleep until 8 ish.
I think it’s because we don’t have to get up early so that DH can go to work.
