Good Morning Everyone,
Its a clear blue sky over Brackley this morning, today apart from being 72 .
Not expecting any post because they will not deliver today.
Maybe start to prepare my Sunday/Monday meal in slow cooker later.
But also have a Chinese Take Away later on.
Take Care ,
Mick

Morning All

A lovely, bright sunny morning here in the north of Norfolk.

An exciting day beckons with a friend calling round for tomato plants which means a distant five minutes door step chat, a local greengrocer delivery (plus flour!), AND a Tesco delivery!!

We’ll be exhausted with all this activity and human (at a distance) contact!

We had a second government food parcel too dragonfly, and nearly a third one but I managed to catch the delivery chap and he’s crossed us off his list.

Have a super walk outside Urmston
Hope you’re feeling better soon Mary
And I do hope someone, somewhere eventually gets back to you with some good news Gilly

Good morning from the Highlands - reverting to form - grey skies and a bit chilly but luckily no rain. Nice to see Marydoll's birthday thread for Mick - she is always thinking of others. It would have been my Dad's birthday today. A quiet hard-working man taken to soon at 66 but my Mum passed away at 62 and he was never the same. I really need to give myself a shake and get going today. Off to re-read Urmstongran's post as that really brightened my day.

Pretty disgusting service from Morrison’s Harri I don’t know why they bothered to be honest.

dragonfly46 Sat 02-May-20 08:15:22

Good morning askitty says it is sunny here so shall tidy up the grass and get the washing out.

Dexter seems much calmer this morning although his cone is stuck together with duct tape where he has broken it!

Ocado delivery today and managed to get a Waitrose slot in 3 weeks.
I received a second government food parcel yesterday, I tried to ring to tell them I didn’t need it but all calls are automated. I therefore donated the lot to a food bank who were very grateful.

Enjoy your walk urmston.
Sorry to hear you are still not well Mary hope you feel better later.
Pleased you are feeling better GG.
Happy Birthday Mick

Good morning from a bright and fairly sunny Newcastle.
Wishing you a very happy birthday Mick I hope the sun shines for you and you enjoy your Chinese meal tonight.

Urmston ready.....get set..... go!!! Enjoy your long-awaited freedom. I'm glad it's a lovely day for it.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Warwickshire, blue sky and sunshine here this morning. Just having a quiet cup of tea then hopefully plumber will arrive to fix leak. ( it’s in outside utility room so we can socially distance). Planning to walk later as well, hoping the weather holds.

Have a lovely day everyone ??

Gelisajams Sat 02-May-20 08:10:01

Good morning from a cool Morecambe Bay. Mix of blue sky and cloud this morning, though the forecast is no more rain for a while. Like most I’d like the rain between midnight and 6am.
Happy Birthday Mick. Enjoy your Chinese take away later.
DH out running so will walk later, maybe this evening and hope there is a sunset over the bay.
Had a FaceTime yesterday with DS3 and DGD aged 3 who was proudly wearing the shorts I’d made her and sent through the post. She was apparently chuffed to see her name on an envelope and wouldn’t take the shorts off even though they were too big. Now I’ve seen them on her I shall make her a couple of pairs that should fit better. I have a bit of Peter Rabbit material, so I’ll find a way to incorporate that into whatever material I use.
Thinking of all who are finding it hard at the moment, take care, stay safe.?

gillybob Sat 02-May-20 08:08:12

Good morning from the NE coast where we have a bright start to Saturday.

Happy Birthday Mick Do enjoy your Chinese Takeaway smile

Spent most of yesterday trying in vain to contact a certain large CC company . Made over 30 phone calls and sent more emails than I can remember all with no reply. In fact their telephone lines seem to be cut off and have a message saying “we are in the middle of an emergency call back later” all this despite their TV adverts assuring their customers that “they are here to help” don’t make me laugh .

Hope you enjoy your first day of release Urms I’m sure it will be amazing . Wishing you a wonderful day .

Hope Dexter is on the mend now Dragonfly smile

Thinking of everyone feeling anxious, poorly or upset . We are living in extremely challenging times .

Will catch up later .

Love

Gillybob x

Urmston, I'm so happy thatt you can get out today, even if it is only to the Police Station! grin

I also meant to say that I'm delighted to see Bellasnana posting on the thread. smile

Good Morning from a bright and sunny East London . A very Happy Birthday Mick! ??. Enjoy that Chinese takeaway this eve. Weather report looks good so hope to spend time repotting seeds . A good walk too maybe . I started out yesterday but abandoned it almost immediately when the rain came down in sheets suddenly. I think I will queue at our corner shop to buy a weekend paper too as missed it last week.
DD and family called round yesterday for a front gate visit .I had made a cake for them to hand over with “social distancing” to take home ! The DGC quickly said hello and then scooted up and down the path whilst we chatted for ten minutes . Nice to see them . Hope DS and family may include a visit to me on their bike ride over the weekend .

Urmstongran Sat 02-May-20 08:03:56

Oh that’s really nice of you Marydoll and so thoughtful! I’m over to post my good wishes on it now. Thank you. How lovely for Mick to have his own thread.

Of course I shall want one now at the end of August ... the day after Beechnut!

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A very Happy Birthday to you, Mick??. Enjoy your day in whatever way you can. The sun is shining in South Yorkshire but it isn’t warm. Don’t know what we will do today; I have some seedlings to sort out at some point, and the bathroom to clean. Stay safe folks.

harrigran Sat 02-May-20 07:58:07

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Happy Birthday Mick, have the best day you can.
My Morrison's order arrived last night with about half of the requested items. No milk or cooked meat, no raw meat or fresh vegetables other than carrots and some other products had substitutes that were not really acceptable.
Basically a waste of time and the goods were all squashed, heavy bottles on top of tomatoes and bread.
Had video call with family last night, they were having problems with wi-fi not being good enough to support four of them working from home. DS was in a meeting when GD's online violin lesson started and DS lost his connection.
Teenage GD declined to appear again so I sent her a WhatsApp message which she replied to immmediately.
Started another novel yesterday, The road to Grantchester by James Runcie, gives you the story about Sidney before he became the vicar. I did enjoy the TV series.
My sister sent me a link to a French resaurant doing takeaways and asked me to pick my birthday meal, my present this year is going to my dinner. Apparently the meals come ready to pop in the oven.
Thinking of gillybob and others with troubles.

Urmstongran Sat 02-May-20 07:56:43

GOOD morning everyone from Malaga where it’s gorgeous! I can hear the ducks quacking away in the swimming pool. Too cute! Himself is out on the landing doing his BRISK walk and just popped back in to say there are joggers out, cyclists, walkers. Woohoo!
?????????

I’m so looking forward to our walk after breakfast. Might put some lippy on for the first time in seven weeks! ?

No, GG13 we won’t be able to go along the paseo unfortunately (just yet anyway) as we have to stay within a kilometre of home. We checked the distance last night and it’s up to the police station on the way into Arroyo.

There’s a pharmacy opposite it and I shall go in to buy another month’s supply of blood pressure tablets. Plus, I need to buy a mask, I haven’t got one yet. Himself has used one for the grocery shop only.
?

Hope Saturday is good to us all. Nice to hear from you Bellasnana over there in sunny Malta. You went AWOL for a while. Trust you are alright? I must send a p.m. to BlueSapphire today. Yesterday was windy and the WiFi signal was rubbish.

Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning all from a very sunny, but cold Glasgow.

I have sent you a birthday card Mick in a new thread, I'm sure your followers would like to add their best wishes to it.
Unsurprisingly, the thread is called Happy Birthday, Mick!

www.gransnet.com/forums/chat/a1278043-Happy-Birthday-Mick

A very easy day for me, I haven't had a good night. For some strange reason my angina and RA have flared up and I'm a bit whacked this morning. I can't understand, as I'm having the best rest I have had in ages.

Looking forward to seeing DD, when she comes for her shopping later. I managed a Tesco slot, so got her shopping and a few bits and bobs for neighbours.
One of my neighbours had a craving for a fish finger sandwich! grin

To all my fellow good morningers, especially those and their families, who are struggling just now, (((hugs)))

Have the best day you can, I'm off to open my maths class!
I'm being easy on that troublesome lot today! wink

brook2704 Sat 02-May-20 07:43:59

Good Morning all from Inverness. It’s a mixture of clouds and blue sky just now and it’s dry so hopefully I’ll be able to get outside again later.

Happy Birthday Mick I hope you have a good day and enjoy your takeaway later ! ???

Nothing really planned for today, I’ve got a few odds and ends drawers and cupboards to sort out and maybe another go at sorting out and tidying up the garage and shed but we’ll see ....

Have a lovely day everyone and take care if you’re going out - Urmstongran special wishes to you to enjoy your day ?

Maybelater2020 Sat 02-May-20 07:40:15

There is a clear blue sky this morning in S E Essex and I have woken up feeling more like my normal self I actually slept from 11pm through to 6am which counts as a good nights sleep for me.

I tried to catch up yesterday with this threads news........

Urmstongran I hope the sun is shining for your walk today, are you allowed to go to the paseo?

Dragonfly how is Dexters poorly eye?

gillybob it is so sad when we cannot be with our GC on their birthdays because of this flipping virus, we missed our GD's last month.

Morning all from a sunny North Leicestershire!

Many happy returns Mick - I hope you have a great day.

Not sure what we will do today apart from our walk.

Ginny42 Sat 02-May-20 07:17:18

Good morning Mick and special birthday greetings to you. It's just not the same spending the day alone is it? There will be many more virtual friends popping by soon to cheer you up. Enjoy your takeaway!

It was golden sunrise in Cheshire after a wonderful sunset last evening but now the clouds have rolled in. It was too cold to sit out yesterday although I was prepared to sit in a jacket and a wrap, I changed my mind when I realised the sunshine had fooled me.

In the woods yesterday I met a mother duck and three ducklings. She walked out of the pond and up the embankment fearlessly towards me and stood with her babies a few feet away. Father was swimming not far away.

I'm planning a new painting today for my GS's birthday. I'm a terrible fiddler but it's not till July! That should be enough time. I'm going to bake something I'd never heard of before - spotted dick loaf. I found it in a search for egg free bakes and find tons of recipes for it. However did I reach this age and never hear of it?

Take good care of yourselves everyone. flowers for all.

NanKate Sat 02-May-20 07:16:36

Morning to the Birthday Boy Mick ?? and All.

A lovely sunny day here in South Bucks.

A friend is delivering some coffee beans to us today, so I will have a chat whilst she is 2 metres away in my front garden, what a palaver.

Pantglas2 Sat 02-May-20 07:13:49

Morning all and happy birthday Mick from a dry but cool north Wales where I’m listening to a pigeon cooing and waiting (a trifle impatiently I’ll admit) for my chamberpot of tea. DH offered to fetch it and I’ve been instructed to stay in bed, ah, here it is!

Not a lot planned today apart from trotting out for a paper, more for the TV guide really. Stay safe and have a lovely weekend everyone x

GrandmaMia1 Sat 02-May-20 07:02:55

Happy birthday Mick, I hope you have a lovely day and enjoy your take-away. Sounds fab.
