Ah, it brings a tear to the eye, look at the old place. It’s just as it was on the day we moved out, it’s a bit dusty....cough cough though.

Lins1066 Fri 10-Jul-20 16:12:43

I will certainly share the wacky baccy Peardrop, shall we go and see if Willa will introduce us to this Harvey Wallbanger? Doesn't sound very French does he?
Then I'm going for a toes up before tonight's show, it's hard work spraying your plumes.

Carillion01 Fri 10-Jul-20 13:20:44

Bonjour and bien venue wila and peardrop!!!
Watch out tonight for the frenchies, it took them two days last weekend to escape Lins (grip) guidance ...
A bientot...???

Carillion01 Fri 10-Jul-20 12:58:34

Just showing the sailors some care and attention. They’ve arrived early for tonight’s biz. Someone has to do it. ??
The last minute rush on Doodle’s spare elastic has stretched my wardrobe drawer of ecoutrements but we’ll get there (and back)?
lemon, where are you hiding the Admiral once the french captain, Big Hugo de MountforSport, arrives? You know he’s never got over you leaving him up the Eiffel with just his baguette???⚓️

Peardrop50 Thu 09-Jul-20 23:06:15

Willa45 I haven't met this Harvey Wallbanger but he sounds very tasty

Peardrop50 Thu 09-Jul-20 23:04:13

Thought I'd use an old frilly cushion with fringes to sew on to my cancan knickers, Mr P not pleased when I practised to see 'home sweet home' written across my derriere.
Lins106 are you sharing the wackybaccy?
Doodle sorry no big mac available only folly burgers.
I could bring a cock in a van, I believe that's a french custom.

willa45 Thu 09-Jul-20 22:54:20

No worries puzzler, doodle, soop, lins and lemon.....just shake your petticoats repeatedly and whoop loudly (just like the girls in the movie), and no one will know the difference. ...oh and merci, Peardrop...... 'follyburgers' sound very yummy! I'll have mine with a tall Harvey Wallbanger to go!

1 1/2 oz (3 parts) Vodka, 1/2 oz (1 part) Galliano, 3 oz (6 parts) Fresh orange juice ahhhhh, delicious!

Doodle Thu 09-Jul-20 22:09:25

My goodness willa those girls had some moves. Some of our older punters may need resuscitation when we’ve finished that routine.
Big Mac and fries for me peardrop please. Need energy for this dance.
Humph ? lemon you promised you wouldn’t mention that again. It wouldn’t have been so bad if he hadn’t landed face first in one of soop’s hot pots. He had carrots sticking out of his nose when we fished him out ?

lemongrove Thu 09-Jul-20 21:57:57

Ah! So many new (old) faces in the bar....welcome one and all.
Lins have you been at the whacky baccy again? Or the magic mushrooms we grow in the cellar....I was saving those for Friday night, garlic mushrooms a la Lemon.Oh well, I expect Soop will bake a batch of snail brownies ( with a little secret ingredient) ooh la la.?
Doesn't Thor look wonderful in a beret ( and very little else) yes, mean, moody and magnifique.Kev says he can’t find any onions to string round his neck and will garlic do?
Those are some good moves Willa ?
Watch out for Doodle and her high kicks, the last time her prosthetic leg flew off and concussed the Admiral.

Peardrop50 Thu 09-Jul-20 20:47:34

Heard someone mention folies bergeres so popping out to McDonalds for some folies bergeres with french fries and juice d'orange. How many shall I get?
A bientot mes amies

Puzzler61 Thu 09-Jul-20 20:30:02

Wow! I’ll need plenty of practice, otherwise I’ll just fall back into my gran-dancing ways (like dad dancing: very like the Gay Gordon’s and in stiletto’s I’ll certainly need someone to hold on to ? ?

willa45 Thu 09-Jul-20 20:24:45

Oooh.... dance troupe sounds like so much fun! I learned Can Can when we visited the Moulin Rouge in Paris! My DH loves it when I show him. I'll have to find the black fishnet stockings I keep in an old trunk and some naughty garters. Lots of purple ostrich feathers, a leotard and a pink lacy petty coat should finish my look very nicely!

I also found some moves for us to practice......what do you think?

Doodle Thu 09-Jul-20 19:42:34

willa welcome. You will have to find your norty self to enter the portals of the Argy. Den of iniquity doesn’t quite describe it, Warning, stay clear of the poteen. lemon brews it herself and it is lethal.
Tomorrow we are having French nite in the bar lots of oooh and plenty of la la. We are all having a go at the cancan. I have some spectacular lacy knickers and black lacy stockings and suspenders,. We need another member of the dance troupe. You can join in too. Just stand over there and practice your high kicks.......just don’t knock out any of the clientele ?

Carillion01 Thu 09-Jul-20 19:14:55

Lins, mon brave, I will not sully your fascinator with E L A S T I C , mais non!
I’ll stitch big plumes onto your Tiller Girl coiffure to match the stilletoes you will be borrowing from me (no, I do not have a shoe fettish) ?? ?? ??...
well perhaps ...

Lins1066 Thu 09-Jul-20 18:50:24

My cartwheels are coming along great, formidableur in fact, though how I'm going to keep my wig on is anyone's guess. Can you sew on some elastic Carillion to go under my chin?? Merci buckets.
Just finished painting the windmill red, well it makes a change from painting the town red ?
Welcome to the " den of iniquity" willa though how Charley knows that, one can only surmise.......
Time for a Panache or maybe a Stella Artois, think that's Belgian but no matter Big Thor got a bargain in Carrefour. The bar looks well stocked and I can hear strains of Offenbach ????

Puzzler61 Thu 09-Jul-20 18:33:04

There is always something in the Argy bar to go in your glass with ice and lemon! Apparently they are 2 barmen called Kev and Thor (can’t see them, they must be doing something in the cellar). And Doodle and lemongrove were here also. Are they in the cellar too ........ I wonder what they can all be doing?
Oh I know, they’ll be checking the pipes ? ? ?

willa45 Thu 09-Jul-20 17:58:14

Thanks Puzzler! We had some passing thunderstorms yesterday, but today nothing. It's sunny, humid and very hot today! The kind of day that begs for something cold preferably with lots of ice and a lemon wedge or two! Great to find you here too!

Puzzler61 Thu 09-Jul-20 17:13:24

Hi willa great to see you here, you’ll see a few old Maths Klass friends hang out here. How are you? We are having a very grey, rainy week in middle England where I live.
We all need to visit this Bar to feel brighter!

willa45 Thu 09-Jul-20 17:07:18

I do hope I have the right address! Sorry to barge in like this, but I was told I could find some of my old school buddies hanging out at a place called the 'Old Argy Bargy'. So, I decided to come and 'inverstigate fer myself' (as our tipsy landlord used to say).

Can rumors be true also, that inebriated mice taunt the patrons on the dance floor, making them do crazy things? I said to myself, this 'Argy Bargy' must be a real hoot. I'll have to stay awhile and enjoy a nip or two of my favorite spirits!

Carillion01 Thu 09-Jul-20 16:32:25

Nice one Doodle, saw what you did there...but did Charleygirl not suspect when she saw Thor ‘holding the ladder’ for lemon while she was dangling the ????????bunting ??

Doodle Thu 09-Jul-20 15:49:49

charleygirl I can assure you this is a very genteel place. elegran from the Temperance club drops in often. ?

lemongrove Thu 09-Jul-20 15:39:43

Gone With The Wind Soop ? Have you been eating something explosive again??

All is in hand for tomorrow night, don’t worry.Have ordered in a whole crate of creme de menthe and if you will do the snail wotsits Soop that takes care of the French cuisine.
The customers will still want some pies.Have draped the bar in the tricolour and Thor is practising his French as we speak.
He intends to complete all orders entirely in that language, so
Don’t say anything if you order a large brandy and receive a pint of Old Dark Goblin.

soop Thu 09-Jul-20 15:31:28

Charleyg I won't tell you if you don't tell on me. Sometimes, a girl needs to run slightly amok and throw caution to the wind. grin

Charleygirl5 Thu 09-Jul-20 13:44:28

soop you have gone down in my estimation- I really did not expect a laydee like you visiting that den of iniquity. I would also add Marydoll and Elegran, really are you both so desperate?

Marydoll I will be reporting you because shielding is the same in Scotland as well as England. Also, alcohol is not allowed now you are on this new drug regime. That will be a phonecall to your Rheumatologist. He/she will be shocked.

soop Thu 09-Jul-20 13:30:42

Carillion Is that the best photo that you could find of me in my domestic goddess clobber? Shame on you. Make mine a quadruple Tequila with a wee umbrella, cos I'm sophisticated.

Doodle Thu 09-Jul-20 13:18:28

Excuse me charleygirl but I haven’t got going yet. When I start I am like a whirling dervish. Marigolds on overdrive. Bleach (well poteen) to sanitise, one of soop’s leek and tattie pies to scrub with (takes the surface off anything). Come back later, you won’t recognise the place ?
