Good Morning Everyone,
Yet another clear blue sky start to the day this morning, no sign of any frost around this way.
Today, usual shop for essentials , one thing with the lockdown, I do not know about others but I have the odd snacks ,and my weight goes up .
My hair trimmer arrived it does not due much, so looked at others online and no stock , so there maybe containers coming in with items from where they make them ,as the demand for grooming hair at home as grown.
take care
Mick

Good Morning, from a sunny N.,Cambs.,

DH renewed his golf membership, so we are both looking forward to him getting a longer "walk" a couple of times a week..!! wink

Gillybob, I saw the Martin Lewis programme last night, where he mentioned the "B" word.! Hope you get sorted soon.

Take Care all you good folks.

Good morning from a now sunny a NE.
Morrison's delivery at 10.45 last night, too k us ages to clean and store everything.
I now have 4 kilos of carrots, guess what kind of soup I am making this morning.
I could accept that Covid19 has been around longer than the press would have us believe. I think it probably entered the country with students starting the new academic year. We have 120,000 Chinese students in this country.
I look forward to talking to the family on WhatsApp tonight, no meeting with anyone not even at the other end of the garden.
Take care everyone.

Good morning from the Shropshire borders. Its blooming freezing this morning?

Baking this morning then relaxing. We drove to Stafford yesterday and had a socially distanced picnic with our younger daughter. It was so lovely to see them both and even though we couldn’t hug DGS,just seeing him and his joy at seeing us was enough.

Looking forward to restrictions in Wales easing so we can see and help DD1 and family.Henry had a bad day earlier in the week and it is really upsetting our daughter now.The new GP is being supportive which is helping.

We think we had the virus starting in December too gilly. We were ill for five weeks and had the cough until March.

Glad that the problems with Barclays have been highlighted on the Martin Lewis programme.??you might get somewhere now gilly

Have the best day you can everyone and stay safe.

Good morning from sunny but chilly Hampshire/Surrey border. It’s so lovely to hear of a baby due on New Years Day! Congratulations Scentia on your daughter’s wonderful news.
I might venture to the garden centre today. Yesterday I’m told it was empty, today who knows, but worth a try.
A safe and happy day to all.

Oh what a beautiful morning ☀️?
Oh what a beautiful day...☀️?
I've got a wonderful feeling
Everything's going my way...??
Well, maybe not but it's pretty good out there ??
Usual run, ??‍♀️ a bit earlier than usual at 5am but it was good and not a soul to be seen.
Fed ducks a bit of stale white loaf (horrible Warburton's toastie bread) and yes, has a delicious cup of tea and biscuit with 'the old man' and Dollar.
The 'old man' is actually only 61 but weather-beaten with a lot of living in his face, twinkly eyes and many stories to tell, in other words, interesting.
I put washing on before going out and it's now air-drying beautifully.
Strawberry plants doing well and everything got a drink before the sun got out of bed.
Apparently the sun is now going through a phase (usually about every 11 years) where it has fewer sun spots on the surface.
It's reckoned to be fewer than the number which showed in 2009/10 when we had that very bad winter. A mini ice-age however is not on the cards but a very cold winter is.
Back in the kitchen, beans on toast (seeded wholemeal and rye) and grilled tomatoes then cappuccino taken in the courtyard to get some rays.
I might take a walk or bus ride later and look for interesting subjects to photograph.

It's good to hear that Urmstongran is having a better time in Malaga and the Friday steak and wine will definitely help the joy de vivre.
Good wishes, ☀️ and ???? to all GNers.
Anyone having a celebration of any kind can have a ? on me but use your own ?
Take care and...well, just take care ??
See you again tomorrow ??

Yes I’m sure I had it early Jan soon after DH died so it was difficult to sort out between grief reaction and viral illness . I had never felt so ill had a fever ,and then had a dry hacking cough for 6 weeks , Was so exhausted and had a metallic taste in my mouth. My Sis in Law also had the same and she was with me most days . But no-one else caught it so who knows ...

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Mapleleaf Fri 15-May-20 08:59:10

Good morning,

Another lovely bright morning though breezier than yesterday.

I've got a bit of weeding to do in the front garden today and the bedding to change and wash, but otherwise, not a lot planned! My goodness, we won't know what's hit us when we are allowed to go about our everyday activities. By the time we are allowed, we might have forgotten how to do them ! ??

Lovely news, Scentia. You must be thrilled. ?

Take care, everyone.

Is your husband going to have the test Gilly?

I am sure a lot of us have spoken to so many people who now with the benefit of hindsight are convinced they had the virus last year before it had allegedly arrived in Europe.

If that’s the case it could mean millions of people here could already have immunity.

Gingster Fri 15-May-20 08:51:32

GILLYBOB . It must have been the virus! Makes you wonder doesn’t it!

Gingster Fri 15-May-20 08:47:31

Thankyou Gabriella for your kind words ?

Greyduster Fri 15-May-20 08:45:27

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A bright start I’m South Yorkshire; not quite as cold as yesterday. We had to take a trip to the bank yesterday, so nipped into the butchers next door for one of their legendary steak pies and then across the road to one of our lovely parks for a walk. We took a small flask of coffee and a couple of pieces of fruit cake and sat on the grass in the sun for a while. Lots of family groups doing the same, but acres of space so no problems. Far less stressful than trying to avoid people on our usual local paths. We noticed on the way home that two of our three garden centres were open and judging from the car parks, very busy. I have some plants I have raised to find space for today, and that will be the last of our planting. Have a good safe day folks

NotAGran55 Fri 15-May-20 08:40:39

Gelisajams How are going to be able attend the birthday celebration when the guidance is only to meet ‘one to one’ in a park or open space ?

It is my MILs birthday next week and we can’t get together as we would normally do .

gillybob Fri 15-May-20 08:37:31

Gingster your son probably did have CV.

My son always said when my DH was on life support at the end of last year that they didn’t have a clue what was wrong with him. They tried every antibiotic known to man . Huge cocktails of stuff that had the most senior microbiologist in the country completely baffled . Kept saying that whatever it was mimicked other virus’s . I’m starting to wonder myself and why suddenly this letter ? hmm

On a lighter note, on opening the letter my DH announced “I knew I shouldn’t have had that Chinese takeaway last October.” grin

Lins1066 Fri 15-May-20 08:32:08

Great news about Dexter dragonfly. xx.

brook2704 Fri 15-May-20 08:30:52

Congratulations Scentia on your lovely news ! ❤️?

Lins1066 Fri 15-May-20 08:30:41

Good Morning Mick and all from the S Welsh coast where there is a cloudless blue sky.
Less people out for the clap last night in our cul de sac.
Wishing your husband a very Happy Birthday NannyT ??
Hope you will get somewhere with Barclays today gilly
Stay safe everyone.

GabriellaG54 Fri 15-May-20 08:28:57

Gingster
You must be so pleased and proud and what a lovely person you are for doing what you did. ?
It's thanks to you that Caroline grew into the delightful person you now know.
A sad story with a happy ending. Respect. ??

Good morning from sunny West Berkshire.

I’m in snail ? mode this morning, usually ready for the day by now but not showered yet . I’m sure there must be something interesting to do today but it hasn’t come to me yet . More of the same I guess.

Mick you can set up an email alert on John Lewis for out of stock items and do a ‘ click & collect ‘ the next day from your Waitrose branch . Works very well in my experience.

Fingers crossed for Gillybob today .

Congratulations to Scentia on your family’s happy news .

Happy Friday one and all .

Gingster Fri 15-May-20 08:26:46

GILLYBOB - I know quite a few people who are certain they had the virus December and January. My son, for one, who was travelling on trains to work. Had all the symptoms quite badly but for only a couple of days. Just thought it was a touch of flu.

Pittcity Fri 15-May-20 08:22:11

Good morning from a sunny but cold Colchester.
I have ironing to tackle and a bed to change, but otherwise nada as per.
I am purposely not buying snacks but DH insists on baking and eating the results.....

GabriellaG54 Fri 15-May-20 08:21:47

No. You're right on the money Puzzler61

Mythbirtthedragon Fri 15-May-20 08:21:19

Good morning from east London, sunny, blue and not as cool as yesterday. Choir last night was really enjoyable, we did ‘Careless Whispers’ , 1920s style. Today I am back on the tennis court, playing singles and observing all guidance. Probably last about half an hour. Have a good day.

HollyMolly Fri 15-May-20 08:19:52

Thanks Puzzler61 it's an 80 mile drive, a long way for a walk in the park. You didn't mention (private) gardens, so I guess they aren't included in the current instructions.
