My car is a casualty of this lockdown; well and truly, flat battery through lack of use! sad I thought it would happen, but didn't worry as I have a charger. However it's parked at the back of my garage, and almost touching a work bench, so I can't get at the bonnet catch.! Being an automatic, as most Aussie cars are, the gear stick is locked in "Park" and needs the engine to be running to free the lock. What I need are 4 hefty blokes, or women, to lift it back a metre. YouTube has a work-around video for such occasions which may or may not work. We'll see! hmm

Megs Bet that cod was delicious; thought cod had been fished to near extinction and off-limits for fishing!? I tried to follow suit tonight with "cod"/parsley sauce/ veggies, but when it thawed, looked and tasted like steamed fish; nutritious I suppose, but nothing like battered chish and fips. In our early days "down under", asking for cod and chips drew blank stares; it's "flake" and chips, i.e. shark! shock
Jane thanks for the pic! You've done a marvellous job with your garden. All that lovely green grass and not a mole hill in sight. Were you the brains and landscape gardener with DH acting in a supervisory capacity, unlike here where I was i/c wheelbarrow! Now it's my turn to sit and watch a (paid) gardener at work' grin
Lovely day again, 17C after a 5C start. I don't get out these days of course being old and doddery. Some days it's not just the car with a dud battery (shouldn't tempt the Devil!) hmm
TV News is beginning to show released inmates crowding together at coffee shops etc. Some of it looks a bit stage-managed for the benefit of the cameras, even though we are urged to keep our distance. My old bones have a feeling that all these "Rules" will soon be forgotten when the real problems with the economy start to hurt.
The Queensland Gov't is in the mix for buying into Virgin Aus. Federal Govt. spokesman (treasurer, I think) says they're barmy to use tax-payers money to buy 7 billion dollars of debt when they can't even run an efficient railway system! grin That's politics for you!

Oh dear, I can tell what the Sunday morning Facetime chat from Queensland will be about Rufus, thanks for the warning!!

Do you belong to the AA or equivalent, do you have Homestart? Don't try lifting it one-handed! We could try to do it virtually, of course, sending positive vibes from GN.

We had 'home' fish, chips and mushy peas last night but it wasn't a patch on the real thing. In fact, never again. The "large" battered cod fillets were tiny and soggy, I dont like oven chips but the mushy peas were good.

A glass of NZ SB washed it all down well though.

Some of the best fish and chips in Oz was near an area called Palm Beach in Sidney. The fish was red snapper and it was delicious. Never tasted the like since. In fact I think they were potato scallops, battered, not chips, but I remember it being lovely grub.

Good Evening Rufus.

I hope you get your battery charged. I gave my car a run this morning after 3 weeks of not being driven. Think it was grateful

I had some of the best fish and chips ever in Paihia NZ . The John Dory was fresh from the boat and after a day in the open air they were great.

We ate at Doyle's in Sydney, very overpriced and then we found they did take away for $A16 just outside!

Spectacular view of the laser show on the Opera House, though.

Never to be forgotten.
