Do you vacuum every day

Why do we have to be grateful?

I suppose he is grateful when I cook him something!
And so he should be.

Once a week does me.

There is a large cobweb at the apex of the conservatory and it had a fly struggling in it. A large fat spider scurried out to inspect dinner about five minutes ago.

But now the fly has escaped somehow.
If I did my cobwebbing I would have no entertainment.

I do most days but only because I had new carpets fitted the day before lockdown.

Now dusting...........

Life is to short to be chained to the vacuum clean, I do it when I feel like it.. In fact I got the vacuum cleaner out this morning but then decided on a cycle ride and meeting my son. Now back home I can't be bothered.

Three dogs means I vacuum downstairs most days. I sometimes don’t put the cleaner away.

Er...........every day?............do my eyes deceive me?????

My vacuum rests peacefully on its charger and I hate to disturb it. I wake it up when it looks dusty!

Definitely not!

However I must admit to a hankering for one of those robot vacuum cleaner things........

My robot vac is doing the whole of the ground floor now. I am sitting in the sun with a cuppa

I used to do it every day when the children were small. Now, it’s about once a week, normally done by my cleaning lady. Dh has been wielding the machine but I’ve now charged up my Roomba and she happily burbles away vacuuming the floors for me.

On a similar domestic note, I had to iron something yesterday. Both iron and ironing board needed dusting before I could commence.

When people are talking about hoovering or using their hoover, do they really mean vacuuming or using their vacuum? Or do most Gransnetters always buy the Hoover brand? Just wondering, as there are so many modern brands these days.

My vacuums are Dyson’s so I say vacuuming ☺️

Vacuuming? Moi?

Many of us are bone idle and use the word hoover instead of vacuum. I have a Miele downstairs and I have forgotten what is upstairs- + a Roomba so I do not possess and never have, a Hoover.

What is a Roomba Charley?

I hate vacuuming/hoovering whatever it’s called. Also hate dusting. So don’t vacuum as often as I should.

Much prefer ‘wet’ jobs, anything that requires water. My husband says I like ‘sossing’ about, if that makes sense.

Things we do when we have pets Oldbat1 but they are worth it.

I make friends with my dust bunnies!

Pre lockdown vacuuming in this house was done 1) if we were having visitors 2) if we were going on holiday.

Now it's only if it is very messy which as we have our 45-year-old Son shielding here with us it sometimes is. He does his own room and the bathroom he uses.

No ironing been done for weeks.

Ellanvannin I presume when you say when the cats see the lights coming, that you have a shark hoover like me, all my cats and dogs dodge it ??

We made a mistake and bought a black glass top tv table which is a dust magnet. I wait for the dust to build up so it seems more worthwhile - it needs dusting at least once a month. We were intending to replace it just before lock down.

Our Gtech has a light I think. More OHs province than mine these days.

I do the housework once a week concentrating on one room each week, giving the other rooms a quick dust hoover or steam clean. The second day is the kitchen oven, fridge and work tops. That’s it. I ignore the house the rest of the week and enjoy life. Or at least I did when I could go out.

Just missed the second theatre and restaurant booking???. A good fair at the Weald and downland and Hove. And of course NT .

I am definitely going to re-think my lifestyle.
