Good Evening Sunday
Some good news, for me, anyway! Car is now un-parked thanks to a video clip on YouTube showing how, albeit on a different car, but same trick worked here!
There's a very small button (about 2mm diameter) alongside the gearstick housing. Press it, jiggle the gear change lever and "Open Sesame" grin
I had thought up a cunning plan to get my electric mobility scooter (Freda) hooked up to the car's rear, but then had another think that if things were to go wrong, Freda would come off 2nd. best and the insurance Co. would find some fine print by which to decline a claim ; "not being used for its intended purpose!" sad
AGAA4 Battery now on charge overnight, so fingers crossed! Garage door will be left open all night, so hoping the possums don't knock the leads off the charger! The door is an automatic lift and it would be just my luck if it was shut and the power went off!

My word! "chish and fips" is as popular as ever, by the look of it! . I was reminded of Harry Ramsden who once had an establishment up the road from here, now a Chinese restaurant of course. Google tells me that all 34 restaurants in the UK are currently closed. What a shame!
Megs that "cod" I had last evening was "smoked cod"; OK I suppose, but give me beer battered chish and fips any day.

All your memories of Aussie venues set me off thinking of our English favourites, mainly down West Country way
There was, maybe still is, a chish and fips shop in Lower Parkstone which had a banner strung up across the shop front proclaiming it to be voted the most popular in; I forget when!

Callistemon Hope your "Chat" was amicable! Although I do recall you stereotyping Aussies as being blunt, but there again I imagine you can be just as blunt! shock
For the record we do have RACV, an AA equivalent, which comes free with a new car purchase provided the car has regular servicing with the dealership.
Thanks for the positive vibes; I'll put them on lay-by!
NZ SB ? to wash down mushy peas or to wash your hands in Corvid 19 style? hmm
Heck! I've got that Monday morning feeling!
Good Health everyone wine wine wine

Good evening Rufus.

Glad to hear your car is charging up nicely and hope those pesky possums don't scupper all your efforts.

Quite a menagerie---I love it. Possums on yer plugs.
D used to have Fred, the blue-tongue living up an old drainpipe, he was a friendly critter. I used to encourage the kookaburras with bacon rind which they took from my hand.

I can see all is well with you Rufus, a very g'day to you this Monday morning and I hope your weather is still good.
My old mum called them chish and fips too, so that language has been going strong for quite some time now.

Stay safe and well and I hope it won't be too long before you're on the road again---as the song goes.
