Hello Everyone.
Good Evening Chewsday
Near disaster in Melbourne. They had to close 12 MacDonalds outlets for deep cleaning! sad
Six re-opened today, but I’d wait a fortnight at least before dining there again!
The abattoir tally has reached 100, it having been closed for a while.
Football is slowly edging closer to resumption and should go some way towards reducing the steady increase in domestic violence, thought to be attributed to frustration at not being able to let off steam.
Most likely it will be behind closed doors for a while, but it will be “live” on TV.
Megs Sorry to hear you are wobbly! I’ll hang on to the naughty stool for a while, but I’m sure you won’t risk using it again. What is this “List” I hear about? I’ve heard of “Lists” at hospitals which are most important to be on, otherwise you wait!
We are almost at the end of a lovely spell of mild, sunny weather, cold nights, but warm in bed. Rain every day for the rest of the week and much colder by day, so being locked down won’t hurt.
Clearing out my Win7 comp. prior to firing up Win 10 and I’m amazed at how much useless stuff is lurking everywhere. Documents, once vital, now obsolete, programmes, jokes “essential” downloads, and old emails!
Of course with the advent of sophisticated hacking progs I’ll have to scrutinise and delete anything personal! Life gets tedious, don’t it !?
Just came across a B/W video of Artie Shaw’s Begin the Beguine. An absolute classic! So refreshing to see all the orchestra and Artie dressed in smart suits, no holes in trouser knees, all with black hair slicked down. I think I’ve lived through the best era of entertainment.
Hope you all continue to enjoy your Summer weather
Oh by the way Jane nearly forgot; “The Oldie” No.369 Spring edition arrived yesterday along with 2 editions of The Railway Mag, so some things are getting back to normal
Good Health and Good Reading!

Lovely to hear from you Rufus.

In the frozen north (Northumberland), we are just beginning to see the sunshine. It appeared atxabout 4:30 pm today, but has gone back behind the clouds now.
I went for my daily walk while it was shining, met son-in-law and two grandsons out for their walk. We chatted a while observing social distancing, and then went our separate ways.
What a chore it is to clear out computer junk! Good luck.
Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be beautiful here, fingers crossed. I'd love to be able to wear my sandals.
Hope you slept well, itcwill be early morning there now.
Stay positive and keep well.

Glad to hear you got your Oldie Rufus2. It'll be a good read as usual.
I was interested to see you liked Artie Shaw. We were just listening to a CD of his on Sunday. He was simply the best clarinettist. However, we were interested to read what a super achiever he was. He had the best band, was the best music arranger, won Oscars, just gave up music after a while, wrote best selling books and on top of everything else was really handsome and married 8 times. Some guy. I bet the other bandleaders hated him. His clarinet playing was so effortless. He said once, 'Benny Goodman plays clarinet, I play music'!
