Good Morning Everyone,
Up early as usual , its dry ,windy and grey at the present moment here in Brackley .
Yesterday , I managed to get some cornflour , from a local convivence store.
Apart from the town centre looking something like a ghost town, except for cars ,which have started to slowly increase in numbers .
Normality still seems scary as to returning to it , I noticed someone yesterday who was returning from somewhere , he looked like death warmed up , he is the type who ignores the rules as laid down ,and thinks others do not ee or notice changes in others .
Take Care
Mick

Good morning, only just squeezing in before noon. It is incredibly windy still and so cold the heating is on. BBC weather promised some sun so hopefully it will come out. We had a great church service today and it helps so much for several reasons. The chat at the beginning and end is lovely and the technical expertise that has had to be acquired is impressive.
bella?
As always to you all, keep on keeping on.

Beechnut Sun 24-May-20 11:54:02

Welcome back BlueSapphire. It’s lovely to see you and don’t worry about the wine I’ll have one for you ?

GrannyGravy13 Sun 24-May-20 11:47:05

Welcome back Bluesaphire ?

Urmstongran Sun 24-May-20 11:27:22

BlueSapphire you’re back! Yay!
?

If you go for a walk, just till you want to come home is ‘far enough for today’. Even if it’s only halfway up the road. Baby steps while you build up your confidence. x

Marydoll Sun 24-May-20 11:19:39

I am going to be brave and say Good Morning everyone.

Will be a day indoors, and start a 'task' that my therapist suggested. I have wool and needles and may make a start this afternoon while the cats are sleeping upstairs!

Although it is very windy I will try to walk to the end of the road and back - about 300 yards. Therapist has said not to go further than I am happy with.

Worrying very much that my Sainsbury's delivery man yesterday was not standing far enough away, but I expect he was, but that niggling fear just sits in my mind......

Will make chicken tikka kebabs for tea with Indian rice and Bombay potatoes. Pity I can't have a lovely glass of wine ? with it, but not allowed alcohol with my tablets!

Should have been our neighbourhood Sunday drinks socially distanced get-together today, but it is too cold and windy. May do it tomorrow on Bank Holiday instead.

May watch another episode of 'Little Fires Everywhere ' on Amazon tv today. It was our book club book about 6 months ago, and so far I think the film version is better than the book.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Mapleleaf Sun 24-May-20 10:56:47

Good morning,

Very breezy still and somewhat dull in South Yorkshire with occasional rain spots in the wind. Supposed to be much nicer tomorrow. ?

Bellasnana ?.

Take care everyone.

BladeAnnie Sun 24-May-20 10:51:44

Good Morning all from a dull mid-Notts - chilly but at least the wind seems to have died down. So many of you with real worries and upsets - you are all in my thoughts. Stay safe everyone and may Sunday be kind to us all x

Good late morning everyone from a windy Essex by the sea. We've just had breakfast, put a chicken in to roast to have cold later, and so I thought I'd catch up with Gransnet.
Yesterday evening we went for a 20 minute drive to a very isolated part of the Estuary. We took my car to give it a good run, the first time I've driven in two months. It did us both good to go somewhere different where there was hardly a soul about.
No plans today apart from a walk by the sea.
Happy Anniversary to NFK and flowers for Bellasnana.
Have a good day everyone and stay safe xx

Taichinan Sun 24-May-20 10:29:22

Bellasnanna ?❣️?. Enjoy a day of memories and love. The pain I know is hard to bear and five years is no time at all, but there's a sort of joy in feeling that pain, I do know. "Better to have loved and lost........."

Good morning from the Shropshire borders.Still breezy.

Felt exhausted yesterday after the upset with Henry on Friday.Today my blood sugars are raised which stress can do so am going to have a relaxing day hopefully.I have found an Ann Cleeves book which I haven’t read so am planning a day sitting in the conservatory reading.

Good morning all from FifeI don’t know if/when the suns coming out ( it’s trying to shine)at least the wind has dropped my DH can now pick up all the garden furniture which he lay flat during the winds and the garden is in a terrible mess. Here’s hoping it’s going to be a lovely day stay safe everyone. Lots of hugs to the super gransnetters thank you all for your support during this time in my lifeflowers

Grandmafrench Sun 24-May-20 09:59:23

Good morning everyone. Hot, blue and windless here at the moment.

I have a spare room which seems to increasingly fill with “things pending”. If it was a filing cabinet, it would be all shipshape - but it’s not, so it’s not. Procrastination is a bad word in my family - sometimes I feel like I may have invented it - so today I shall strike! ??????? and put everything away.

Wonderful, happy memories today for you, Bellasnanna ?Happy Anni, the Nfk’s. Hope you’re pleased with your hair, Bellasnanna.

To everyone with pain today, take it easy and give yourselves chance to heal a little.

Pleased you liked your scones, Gingster - were those the Queen’s ones?! I decided to try the other day, but then.......no lemonade ?. It’ll be roast lamb this evening, lots of veggies, DH wonderful crushed roast potatoes, our own mint and a smidgen of garlic in the lamb. DH in charge so even less excuse for me to avoid the chaos of the spare room.

So.......up and at ‘em. But first a tiny tour of the garden, before coffee. ?. See? It’s going to be a battle between the good and the bad me today. Wonder who’ll win.

Take care all of you. Enjoy your Sunday........another week ticked off towards ‘real life’. Let’s try and meet it with a big smile (to cover gritted teeth?) STAY SAFE, please.

Big French hugs x ??

Good morning everyone. Yesterday my internet link had hiccups, probably because of the gale force winds, and I lost both posts I tried to send, so I'm getting in before reading today's posts! So frustrating. What I wanted to do was add my fury on behalf of gillybob. This latest of many last straws is unbelievable, poor soul, and I do so feel for you. Good times must surely be ahead soon. Yesterday was very much a non-day for me and I didn't really get my act together until evening. Then the sun shone and the gale dropped back to a very stiff breeze so I took myself out for a stomp and felt better for it. It was a circuit through the woods and home via the lanes that I used to do many years ago. Now, although I felt I was maintaining a good pace, it took me nearly ten minutes longer. Poor old soul that I have obviously become! Round here we're looking forward to the slight easing of lockdown starting next Thursday and I already have two garden catch-ups booked. Someone has also mentioned tai chi on the beach, but if we got the turn out we had last year we'd stretch the whole three miles of sand using social distancing! Seeing my family is a way off yet - my nearest, DD and two GDDs, are 80 miles away. So that won't be until July, going by Nicola's roadmap, but it's lovely to know that it will happen sometime soon-ish. Poor DD is champing at the bit to be let loose. She was widowed four years ago and then towards the end of last year she met a lovely man, widowed like herself. The only problem is that she's up here and he's deep into Englandshire. They met up with their children in tow (five teenagers between them!) several times and also just the two of them, and it is a serious relationship - but lockdown has certainly put the brakes on it somewhat. They video chat every evening but it's not the same is it. She'll be off down there at the first opportunity I know, but I'm sure we'll have our own meet up first. But all that is way ahead and there's another day of lockdown ahead today in which I promise myself I shall do all the things I couldn't be bothered doing yesterday. Or not ?. I hope everyone is as well and as happy as they can be in these strange times. Sending ? to all ?

Good morning Mick and everyone. It's brightening up here in the Gower after a grey start and the wind has dropped compared to the last few days.
As others have said, wind is often a price to pay for living by the coast. The plants have taken a bit of a battering but fortunately survived it all, I think all due to my WP's strategic planting ?

Bellasnana, as Marydoll says it will be a bitter sweet day for you today. Love never leaves, you shared it, so remember the beautiful times you shared as they do remain ?

Slow cooked belly pork with onion gravy for dinner later, roasties instead of mash I think, greens and carrots and I mustn't forget the Yorkshire pudding ?

I have very chatty phonecalls yesterday, one very long one with my WP's sister. I think in the end she chatted me out, odd really because I like to chat ?. I think I'll get my non artistic art work going again today and have a "chill out" day (as my nephew 1 would say) ?

Happy Anniversary ? to you and your DH NflkDumpling, enjoy your posh meal ?

Take it was Marydoll and I hope you are feeling more at ease today gillybob ?

Be kind to yourselves everyone ❤️

gillybob Sun 24-May-20 09:41:32

Good morning from the NE coast where we have a dull start to Sunday . It’s not quite as windy as it was yesterday when it was almost impossible to walk .

I went for a little walk on the beach to clear my head but had to cut it short as the wind was almost lifting me off my feet . As others have said my garden looks like it has been hit by a tornado .

Anyway is thought I would wait until a bit later to post today as really didn’t want to hijack this lovely thread with my woes and misery again. I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone for listening to my ramblings and for the very good and helpful advice given.

I do hope everyone has the best Sunday possible . I just want to give all you lovely people a huge {{hug}}

Love, Gillybob x

Good morning Mick - still enjoying this site although not posting. I get so annoyed at myself just now for feeling so low when I realise my pain from the cracked rib will heal and so many are living with long term conditions which are so debilitating. Although on my own with a very small family I have plenty of folks keeping in touch and see my DS and DGS once a week when they deliver bits and pieces at the back door and retreat to the bottom of the garden for a wee chat. Yesterday I was able to leave something on the doorstep for DGS. During our one day heatwave up here in the Highlands I was looking through a suitcase for a piece of summer clothing and found a Christmas present I had bought in advance and hidden away! It was a Newton's Cradle and had been on his wish list the last two years. I was sure when he was opening his presents I had bought one but thought it was just Granny being silly again!! He was absolutely delighted. Pretty grey day with us up here but the wind has definitely died down and the forecast is better for next week. Off to have some breakfast and catch up with some of the other threads I follow. Will definitely keep off the political ones today. I will be thinking on Urmstongran enjoying a lazy Spanish Sunday. I know the area where she is so well and really hope the Spanish economy and people continue on an upward slope.

GrannySomerset Sun 24-May-20 09:27:27

Sunny and windy here in North Somerset and another day without real purpose, though I could weed the front border.

Have taken DH his tea and pills and he is not with it at all. Will see how he is when up and dressed but it looks like a difficult day.

Doesn’t feel like Sunday with no church and because we are currently without an incumbent we don’t have a streamed service either. I miss it so much and radio versions, whilst helpful, are not the same.

Beechnut Sun 24-May-20 09:27:25

Thinking of you Bellasnana

Have a lovely anniversary NfkandDH ?
