It's in the back of my mind when I'm on here that some of us have disappeared since the onset of C19. Who are we missing?

fatgran57 Mon 15-Jun-20 06:07:53

I don't think MOnica would just leave gransnet without letting us know.

She would not be reading all our posts expressing our concern for her wellbeing and not responding.

Her postings stopped so suddenly that I can't help thinking something serious has happened.

The same thing applies to Gabriella whose posts I really enjoyed reading each day. If something had seriously annoyed her she would have said so not just stopped posting.

The sad thing is that we will probably never know what has happened to these two women.

Marydoll Mon 15-Jun-20 06:48:49

As mentioned earlier, Gabriella was reported for posting a particularly nasty text, which was deleted by GNHQ.

She vanished just after it. A coincidence? ?

Re MOnica.

I have been doing a bit of detective work. I think MOnica last posted on 20 April, on the Coronavirus forum, ‘Will You Be Wearing A Face Mask?’

She said she had a bad cold, coughing and sneezing for the last week I think, definitely not Covid, but had been out shopping.

I replied that she really shouldn’t be out shopping if she had a bad cough and cold.

No news since then I think.

I really hope she is ok.

A Missing Members thread started on 8 May, and MOnica was mentioned back then,

* Bradfordlass* has posted on Devils claw thread today

Marydoll Mon 15-Jun-20 08:19:08

Bradfordlass posts every day on the Lockdown Gang thread.

Anyone heard anything from POGS. I always enjoyed her posts on the News and Politics threads, but we never agreed much on anything.

I did however enjoy the terminology in her posts and shoot from the hip style which always contained great respect.

Hope she is OK.

Bellannona
I was Petra. I didn't want to change my name but I had a technical glitch and to be honest I would rather have stuck pins in my eyes than sort it ( to be able to come back as Petra) ?

Bellanonna Mon 15-Jun-20 08:47:42

Oh my goodness, fancy that! Glad you’re still around, Petra, nice to see you.

Marydoll Mon 15-Jun-20 09:15:44

MerylStreep, oh drat! I was sure you were someone else! grin.
I'm useless at spotting changes in username!

Callistemon Mon 15-Jun-20 09:44:32

I don't think POGS has changed her username so it is worrying that she is not posting.
She wasn't the kind of poster to leave because others might have disagreed with her.

Rainwashed Mon 15-Jun-20 12:15:09

I have noticed a couple of Regular posters missing, can’t remember their exact user names but they were something like nanaandgrampy and nanajan53. I too hope Monica is Ok, she seemed a very nice sensible person.

Rufus2 Mon 15-Jun-20 12:34:36

Meryl What an odd expression! confused
I realise now why you gave me a big serve recently when I commented on the Jalima mystery and you SHOUTED at me to respect members wishes to remain anonymous, to BUTT OUT and find something useful to do! Oh! I'm also a "saddo"!, so you said! grin
Before you start sticking in pins I suggest *you first cast out the mote from thine own eye, and please explain what I've done to deserve your special attention!? sad
Others don't appear to be respecting the cloak of anonymity by their constant speculation!

Glad you haven’t gone away Petra/Meryl smile

I too feel very concerned about MOnica.
I remember her being the butt of some nastiness and as usual she seemed to rise above it with her calm logic, but perhaps it did upset her. sad

kittylester Tue 16-Jun-20 14:13:02

nannyandgrampy was in the Kitchen a while ago (yesterday maybe) but I've not seen nanajan for a while.

Kalu Tue 16-Jun-20 14:31:27

Pleased to see you are still here Petra. I have been wondering who Meryl Streep was?

Also feeling a bit uneasy as to the whereabouts of M0nica I missed the thread that would possibly have upset her. I can only hope she is taking a break and is in good health.

mumofmadboys Wed 17-Jun-20 18:47:48

Is anyone personally in touch with MOnica? Has anyone met her in RL? It would be good to know she is ok. I also feel worried about her.

Fennel Wed 17-Jun-20 19:33:05

I've sent a pm to M0nica and she didn't reply.
We had some contact by pm in the past because we have some long gone history in common.
I could be wrong, but I think she once said she had a long standing health condition.

BlueBelle Wed 17-Jun-20 20:05:50

I too sent a pm to MOnica but no answer

Marydoll Wed 17-Jun-20 20:17:47

Some gransnetters are in contact with other grans by phone and personal email. It's a pity there is no-one who is in contact with her, who could reassure everyone.

Callistemon Wed 17-Jun-20 20:42:06

I'm sure there are a couple of Gransnetters who know her in RL. I hope someone is in touch.

I think it's more worrying that the PMS have gone through. Had they not, we would know she had left GN.

Fennel Wed 17-Jun-20 20:49:47

I know they had a holiday home in France - perhaps they'd gone there and she hasn't been able to get internet.

Bellanonna Wed 17-Jun-20 21:52:29

I was going to say that too Callistemon. Had Monica deregistered then a PM would not have gone through.
I hope Fennel is right and she is in France.

MissAdventure Wed 17-Jun-20 22:02:18

You're giving out a fair bit of someone else's (possibly identifying( details here, if you don't mind me saying.

Bellanonna Wed 17-Jun-20 22:05:29

Monica was quite open about her second home

MissAdventure Wed 17-Jun-20 22:08:53

Yes, she's a straight talking woman.
It just feels a bit uncomfortable to watch a thread develop into a 'where's m0nica' special.
