Good Morning Friday

Good morning everyone from a sunny but very windy Essex by the sea. The last couple of days the wind blowing in off the sea has been quite chilly.
DH is on a training call with work, those working from home have to 'attend' 2 or 3 times a week. I'm just finishing off some ironing. I bought 3 summer dresses in an online sale and I'm very pleased with them, they just need pressing.
Happy birthday Hymnbook, have the best day you can.
Bluesapphire you are doing great, every little step is a step in the right direction. I too know from experience but keep on carrying on as my 89 year old neighbour loves to say.
A walk later will be on the cards, not much else planned.
As my daughters live 50 and 120 miles away I won't be seeing them anytime soon, that makes me sad.

Another Truck convoy, through our small town last night, on it's way to Peterborough hospital, to deliver the money raised for the NHS charity fund. Very noisy, all lights & horns, but a good community spirit.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. I couldn’t connect with Gransnet this morning for some reason, so I am late today. Maple has got the weather here spot on. Another scorcher. We were out walking yesterday and it was sooo hot! I wouldn’t have gone, but DH had an itch he needed to scratch! Laundry today; some baking too as DS and DiL are planning to descent on us on Sunday for a sit in the garden. Greatly looking forward to it. Have a good safe day folks.

Gabriel is a man’s name, isn’t it? Are you sure it’s the same person Kalu? I did try to send our Gabriella a p.m. but after typing on out it wouldn’t send as she wasn’t receiving messages.

Actually wouldn’t it be better to see that directive as one starts a message, instead of doing one and then finding out? Grr!

Morning everyone. I hope you are all well. Today it's my 70th birthday. Happy birthday to me. I never thought that l would be celebrating this day alone in more ways than one. I will have a video call later with my brother and sisters. Hope you all enjoy a good day.

Grandmafrench, are you my sister??. My parents always called me Calamity Jane as I was so accident prone however, I loved the name as it was my favourite film. The name still fits in adulthood too! your poor toe, that sounds like a nasty one. I remember seeing some very strange looking spiders when we lived in S France and another time lifting a stone in the garden and finding a scorpion?

Another walking disaster Marydoll. Forgive me for laughing at the Peppa Pig plaster but I hope your wounds heals quickly.
As I am wearing shorts today, evidence of my disasters will be on show, bruised legs. Can’t even remember how they got there sometimes?.

Can’t help but notice the mood has lifted quite a bit on our GM thread as easing of lockdown now allows us to meet up with family again. So looking forward to a picnic in the garden with our girls.

Harrigran, I was given silky fingerless, lightweight compression gloves by the hospital for my very painful hands. I found them so comforting. So much so that I have ordered a pair online for my friend.
Perhaps, you have already tried them.

It's another glorious morning here in South Yorkshire and is going to be very warm again this afternoon.

Popping off to the chemist shortly before it gets to hear t to queue as I've got prescriptions to collect. Also want to get something for the itchy heat blisters I always get on my hands when it gets warm and sticky. They then dry after a few days and begin to flake and itch again. Not nice, but hey ho, it's minor in comparison to many troubles so many of you endure.

Hope you find the phone call helpful, BlueSapphire. Remember, everything you manage to achieve each day, however small it might seem, is a huge step in the right direction. ?

So sorry to hear you have had another bad night with pains in your hands Harrigran which reminds me that poor annsixty hasn’t been around much lately either . I know she was waiting desperately for a hip replacement operation and was in a lot of pain . It makes my angry that they have cancelled so many operations (my DH’s included ) leaving a lot of people in a lot of pain . It’s as though the NHS has for gotten anyone other than those suffering from CV .

Anyway what I meant to say Harri is that the Freecycle network is still very much up and running, with people collecting things from a safe distance and not going into each other’s homes . Would it be an idea to list some of the unwanted furniture you have and arrange for it to be left outside for collection ? Just a thought .

Good morning from the NE coast where we have a beautiful bright and sunny start to Friday .

I will start by complimenting grandMattie on her amazing handiwork . That quilt is beautiful .

A very Happy Birthday to Mr Lins do enjoy the Malbec.

It was my dads 82nd birthday yesterday and I went over to see him . When I got out of the car he was pottering in his front garden as was his neighbour but one, so I started singing “Happy Birthday to you.....” his neighbour shouted over to ask how old he was and when I said 82 she shouted back “no way.....I had him down for about 70” . What a compliment . I shouted back that I was 58 and she just looked as if to say “is that all”

I had a bit of a garden disaster yesterday. We have a little spherical water feature and I decided to stake the Alliums that were bent over by the string winds of last week . I was happily hammering the little canes in and tying them up until I hammered straight through the electric cable that feeds my water feature . I’m not sure if I will be able to repair it or replace the cable so I’m gutted . It attracted a lot of little birds into the garden for a drink .

Will have a catch up with this lovely thread while I enjoy my second (or is it third) cuppa.

Good morning from a mild and bright NE.
Bad night of constant pain in my hands so will probably be tired today.
DH is having to travel to the Lakes today because the buyer has asked for the place ro be cleared of furniture. We have found someone who is prepared to take the lot into storage and hold it until a charity is ready to accept it.
This is going to be an expensive way of disposal but we have no option.
My BIL remains in isolation in hospital in Germany and my sister is not at all well, difficult times.

Yet another brilliantly wonderful summer’s day in the north of Norfolk.

Must get dressed and do my hair before DGD3 FaceTimes for her reading. We’re near the end of a Faraway Tree story and I can’t wait to see what happens.

As Cornergran has said, Maw is having a break. She is still posting occasionally.

Good morning all from a bright and sunny mid-Notts. I had a bit of a broken night - some really strange dreams!! Shopping was delivered yesterday by sainsbury's and Mr BA slightly ecstatic that the tip is now open for trailers so he can get rid of all the rubbish which has been accumulating . I understand maw is having a bit of a break urmstrong, it is odd when our GN friends disappear. Could do with some rain here Bella, only overnight though .

Morning Mick, morning All. Clear blue sky over our corner of Somerset. Really enjoying the sun. Quiet-ish day ahead. Slow start, some garden pottering before it gets too hot. Our poorly friend and neighbour has tested positive for covid. Not good as she has all sorts of pre-existing conditions. As she was shielded we’d not been near her, it seems it was contracted in a medical setting. Cat feeding is all I can do to help. A very happy birthday to Mr Lins. Be gentle with yourselves everyone, please no more accidents.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Looks like we will be in the coolest part of the country today.
DH is off fishing so I will have a couple of peaceful days.... being together 24/7 is not easy at times.
I have all the bedding on the line for airing and can now please myself doing not much.

Just heard that out here, from Monday, the time/age restrictions for walks will be cancelled. Yay! Much better from a practical point of view plus it’ll be liberating.

Blue don’t feel bad about yesterday (whatever it was). Sometimes progress is so small it doesn’t register. Daily comparisons can be disheartening. Try to go with the flow and then look back now and again to how you were a fortnight or a month ago. That’s when you’ll feel heartened by how far you’ve come. I speak from experience. x

Also Marydoll I’m missing Gabriella and Maw on here. Different styles, different personalities both AWOL.
