Good Morning Everyone,
Yet another clear blue sky day today here in Brackley.
Today , apart from TV etc, the slow cooker will come out gain and I will do another curry ,which should last two days.
I am also going to mix some cornflour in to thicken it .
Comprises of Cut up chicken thighs , peas and spring onions chopped up maybe a normal onion as well , I like the Chinese style curry so could put some soy sauce into the blend as well.
Take Care
Mick

Meant to say Urmston, I send best wishes and a speedy recovery to your friend. These things have a habit of coming right out of the blue and not necessarily when exerting yourself. It sounds as though not too much damage was done and he'll be as safe as houses in Spain with their knowledge of all things medical.

Scary, all the same.

Good morning Mick and team, from a sunny east London.

We are planning a housework and online shopping day. I am awaiting a refund on concert tickets and have decided to treat myself with the money, in consolation for not going to the concert.
We have had a number of refunds for concerts, gigs and plays, which we were looking forward to ... it’s such a shame.
So I am going to use the refunded cash to buy myself some Molton Brown Eau de Toilette, for a lovely daily spritz.

Our dishwasher (less than 12 months old) has conked out. We cannot have an engineer’s repair visit until after 30th June, because I am shielding. So a month of washing up by hand ...

I have some pizza bases in the freezer and some good salami in the fridge, so will make pizza and salad for supper tonight.

Have a good day all, especially those who can have family gatherings in the garden. Special good thoughts to those who need them. ?

Good morning Mick and everyone from a lovely sunny morning in Cheshire. I'm late clocking on this morning as I've been cooling off in the garden. I couldn't sleep without the fan and couldn't sleep with the noise, so I'm a bit sleepy still.

Yesterday I did some heavy lifting again in the garden and smashed up a big ugly old pot the previous owners left with lump hammer and bagged it all. I don't know which part of me hurts most. I had lots of chats with neighbours and several WhatsApp chats with friends, so I feel connected.

Skype chat with DD and DGS to look forward to today. Their cat wants to be in the picture too and tries to sit on the keyboard.

Off out for a walk soon so better get a move on. Neighbours with dogs go at 9.00 on the dot and I don't want my name in the late book.

Warm wishes to all. Stay safe and have a wonderful time with family and friends those able to meet in gardens at last. sunshinesunshinesunshine

lovebeigecardigans, you can retrieve your emails, if you know your email password.

E.G. I have a Virgin email address, so I log into my Virgin account and there is a tab, which says email, you can read all your emails there.
I'm sure something similar is possible with other providers.
That's how I retrieved all mine, when my PC died!

If you go into your email trash folder, there may be an option to Restore.

Hope you get it sorted.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Wall to wall sunshine again in South Yorkshire. Baking for me today as DS and DiL are driving down to see us tomorrow. We will have lunch in the garden. No hugs though☹️. We went to a small garden centre near here yesterday to get some plants to replenish an outside trough. Nothing fancy; just good reasonably priced plants, and never teeming with people - there was only one other in there. Different to the other local GCs which are heaving at the moment judging from their car parks.
Have a good safe day, folks.

Another lovely sunny morning?

DH’s birthday tomorrow so will make his birthday cake today and hunt out his presents from wherever I have hidden them?

We are looking forward to meeting up with family too.I am anxious about the easing of the lockdown so we still won’t be going shopping or anywhere apart from the garden. Both daughters haven’t been anywhere either so feel confident about garden meet ups with them.

Thinking of all those who are anxious and struggling.

Have a good day everyone, stay safe and take care.

Morning all!

As dragonfly says, Leicestershire is glorious this morning. I aim to do a little dead heading thus morning and not much else.

We have arranged to see our 'localish" dgc next week. One lot in Derby and one lot in South Leicestershire but the ones in Hertfordshire are prioritising DSiL's mum as she is a widow and sounds quite fed up.

Our sort of Dil delivered some stuff yesterday and brought our 20 year old step grandson and it was awful not to hug him - he is 6'2" and does brilliant hugs!

Kalu Sat 30-May-20 08:57:06

Hope you are doing OK today BlueSapphire and feeling a bit less anxious. Slowly but surely you will get there?

Good morning from sunny Colchester. I have slept in as I usually do when DH is not snoring beside me. He has gone fishing and is not back until tomorrow. It's a solitary pursuit so easy to social distance.
I shall wash the floors this morning before DS gets up and we'll have a takeaway this evening.
Probably helping DS with his plans as he is leaving home at the end of June. I shall have an empty nest and a spare bedroom.

Good Morning from Morecambe Bay where it looks like it’s going to be another hot sunny day. DH is out on his run and I await my weekly phonecall from Somerset.
Yesterday we took our camper out to look at a different part of the county. Beautiful as it is here it was good to feel the freedom of being able to travel away from walking distance.
DS1 has invited us to a bbq on Tuesday. It can’t be sooner because of his shifts. I think this is the best time to see people before they all go back to school etc. and the bug flares up again.
Take care everyone, stay safe?

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Expecting a parcel today that will hopefully help my painful hands, thank you Marydoll for the information.

Second home was cleared of furniture and taken to storage yesterday, one less thing to worry about.

My sister was called to hospital and allowed to see her DH in ICU before he was transferred to a specialist respiratory hospital. The doctor had rung her and asked her to take in the DNR form, not what you want to hear over the phone.

Video call with family last night except for teenager who did not even answer my WhatsApp message later, I usually get that courtesy.

Have not heard from DD abroad, hopefully will do over the weekend.
Take care.

Good morning Mick and all x

Another beautiful day here in S E Essex ?

Urmstongran wishing your friends husband a speedy recovery.

It seems so quiet in my house this morning, no squeals from GS and no cuddles in bed with his baby brother ?

Will try to busy myself and not dwell on the emptiness.

Take care and keep safe ?

BladeAnnie Sat 30-May-20 09:29:03

Good morning all and another beautiful day here in mid-Notts. I'm not sure what today holds but I've a feeling it will be a lazy sort of day and a bbq for tea. Stay safe everyone and may Saturday be kind to us all x

A late good morning from the NE coast where we have a sunny start to Saturday.

I took a dose of Night Nurse for bed last night after suffering sneezing and runny nose all day yesterday. Slept the best sleep I have had in years .....

Barclays have paid £50 into my business account with the reference “compensation” but no explanation and as yet still no letter . I thought they might at least pay it into my personal account and not to sound ungrateful, but £50? Really ?

Anyway I haven’t had chance to read all the messages this morning so am making myself yet another cuppa, then I will go back and catch up.

Have as good a Saturday as possible everyone.

Love Gilly x

Good morning Mick and all his followers. It seems that the UK has sunshine everywhere today! Yesterday we had a walk with DS, DiL and DGC with their bike/scooter for the first time. It was such a beautiful evening too. The only hiccup was when I suddenly found a little hand holding mine. ?.
DD tells us they are coming up at the end of this week and will christen our new BBQ with us. It was our Christmas present and we haven’t used it for just the two of us - didn’t want to spoil the newness! They will sleep in their camper van on the drive. I have to admit to feeling a little nervous about it but we will all be very careful.
Weeding today - it is amazing how watering the beds regularly makes them thrive more than the stuff I planted!
I hope today is kind to you all.

Grandmafrench Sat 30-May-20 10:11:56

Good Morning Everyone.

Wishing hard for your friend in Spain, urmston. As you say, Carpe Diem. Maybe even more important for us to look for the joy in each day we’re given because you just never know. Perhaps having struggled through the spectre of Covid, lots of us may re-evaluate our lives somewhat and Learn to stop sweating the small stuff. (Note to self, GrandmaFrench ?)

Lots of descriptive early morning posts. Isn’t the world around us so beautiful when the weather is good, another warm sunny day in the garden beckons? Before life and the day gets going there are those moments of total peace when it feels as if time is suspended. Oh to be able to bottle that and pour it out on a grey, damp day. The smells are wonderful, before the heat dries them out. We can’t hurry our dogs if we take them out at sun up.....they are in sniffy heaven then and they forget all about surroundings, so we just have to slow down and wait while they get their fix!

DH has just come back from the hairdressers. Just him, her and the receptionist manning the door. Without mask or appointment - you don’t come inside! She, who has suffered financially, feels that it’s only for obvious economic reasons that France is opening again this coming week. It’s a risk.....especially with the unstoppable march of tourists from all over Europe that this will bring. My Eye Specialist I spoke to yesterday feels the same thing. I’m worried, after all the suffering, that the UK will go bonkers in the sun this weekend and there’ll be no social distancing in parks and on beaches. I want to feel that it won’t be too much longer before I can see my family and friends there. Garden gatherings for careful close families are a totally different, and controllable, thing. Still.....we won’t know until we know, so maybe better to look on the bright side and enjoy the new freedoms.

Hope your poor hands benefit from the good advice harrigran, your foot is better and not being stood on for extended periods, Ellan, that Blue’s determination to get better stays strong, that dragonfly’s glass stays firmly half full (unless she fancies another drink, of course), that the useless bunch at Barking Banclays will one day soon come across gilly’s name on their daily to do list, that jacq is much better after her bad fall and justwidowed is finding some more hopeful moments. I wish that anyone wobbling or in pain feels better and more cheerful soon. Let’s stick together on this thread and find a reason to smile. Enjoy your day, all. Big hugs from ????

Good morning all, another ? day in the Gower.

I had heartburn all day yesterday and all night, finally got to sleep at 4:45am and only woke just after 9am. Bl...y heartburn still there ?.
I haven't read all the posts this morning I'm embarrassed to say.

I did "clock" yours gillybob and feel annoyed on your behalf. Excuse my language here, but, ffs! I don't say that lightly (or very often). What an insulting fob off ! As for no letter - it seems to me that a bit of skullduggery
is in play on their part. I wish I could help you as this is beyond. This in no way compensates but sending you ((hugs)) and ?

I did also "clock" your post Marydoll, I think it was the strawberry that did it ?.
Sounds like you had a fabulously fruitful, fantastic family frolicking Friday ?

I hope the rest of you are okay, ? for those who are unwell or having difficulties
Take care everyone and be kind to yourselves ❤️

Kalu Sat 30-May-20 10:50:07

Oh gilly £50! Boy, this lot really know how to add insult to injury......and....you’re supposed to feel grateful? ??
