Just been reading a thread about "Does Appearance Matter?" and wondered what Gransnetters are wearing in lock-down? (This is meant as a lighthearted thread........hopefully it stays that way!!)

Cream trousers, cream and pink linen top, cream espadrilles
Make up and perfume
I have decided that I want to feel better about things, so will wear nice clothes and it works for me
Wearing the same old, same old got me down somewhat

Are some of you going Out Out?

etheltbags1 Mon 15-Jun-20 10:35:16

grin I do read these posts with a grin on my face. No offence meant to anyone, I'm sure having clothes with a name tag means a lot to many. I'm wearing scruffy nightie so old that I've forgotten where I bought it and old joggers. Btw nightie is just scruffy cos I've just put the bin out, will chuck it in wash when I go in the shower. Never mind shops are open today so all those lovely labels will be dangling to tempt shoppers

Navy cropped trousers and what I call my ‘boho’ loose top which is blue with a darker blue palm leaf pattern. No shoes. Touch of makeup, mainly mascara.

I've been outside gardening, cutting back brambles, so I'm in ancient pair of brown and cream striped trousers and a pink and white striped top. The top is Dash and I love it so much I can't bring myself to get rid of it.

Stripy leggings, t shirt, flip flops.
Little bit of make up, hair in a pony, but I did brush it today!

Marmight Mon 15-Jun-20 11:58:30

Navy cut offs, strappy blue white turquoise blobs top, white crocs

A floral sleeveless summer dress which I made a few weeks ago. I lined it with fabric from an old sheet which I'd put my foot through - the middle may have been worn out but the rest of it is fine. Looks better than it sounds - I think.

Blue floral cotton jersey skirt (Per Una via Ebay), navy blue half-sleeve t-shirt (Cotton Traders) and purple Skechers sneakers. Comfortable but not disreputable.

ethel it doesn’t matter to me where my clothes come from. I’ve got things in my wardrobe from Tesco as well as more expensive things that I’ve had for 15 years or more. What matters is whether they make me feel good and my Tesco winter coat certainly does that.
I think it’s interesting, as someone else said, to hear about others’ choice of clothes. If someone said they were wearing something from a brand I hadn’t heard of, & it sounded nice, I might be tempted to go and have a look at the website.
Some of us are interested in clothes and some of us aren’t.
Don’t get your knickers in a twist.

Kalu Mon 15-Jun-20 13:47:12

Oh, really do not like the word panties similarly, pants (trousers), purse (handbag)

Today it’s white silk knickers and matching bra
Grey jeggings, white short sleeved stepped shirt and grey loafers. Finished off with a large silver pendant on grey cord.

I won’t bother justifying my purchases as I buy what feels good on, I like it and it’s good quality which my £6/£15 collection of jeggings are, all mixed with various tops and jewellery of varying prices.

I make sure my knickers are a good fit thus, avoiding twisting?

Riverwalk Mon 15-Jun-20 14:00:29

Oh, don't be so sour ethel

Grin all you like - I don't grin when posters talk about the cakes they've made, cruises they've been on, NT houses they've visited, all things I have little interest in.

For anyone interested, I'm wearing White Stuff grey linen trousers and an M&S navy T-shirt, and the ever-popular Skechers (pink & grey).

downtoearth Mon 15-Jun-20 17:17:23

Jùst bought 2 pairs of white cropped jeggings from poundland....just sayinggrin

downtoearth Mon 15-Jun-20 17:18:18

Very nice they are too...and I did need them grin

Riverwalk Mon 15-Jun-20 17:52:50

And I'm sure you look very nice in them dte in your new sylph-like state!

BlueSky Mon 15-Jun-20 18:23:09

Exactly Janeainsworth! I did have a look at some websites that I thought were interesting. Today being very warm, I'm wearing a Kilye Minogue strappy dress I bought in the sales in Oz!

Whitewavemark2 Mon 15-Jun-20 18:24:06

Off white capris and off white and blue and Pink flowered top.

Puzzler61 Mon 15-Jun-20 18:41:03

White knee length shorts, a tomato coloured linen top and black slider mules. It’s been a very warm day in the Midlands!

Callistemon Mon 15-Jun-20 22:27:15

M&S Tencel cargo pants
Bue and white White Stuff linen jersey top 2 years old which has stretched so much it would be unwearable were I going Out.

etheltbags1 Mon 15-Jun-20 22:33:34

jeanainsworth. I don't care where anyone has bought their clothes from. I'm just making the point that some people like to name the brands. It seems like bragging , a lot of posters on here do brag. I was brought up not to brag. I'm not getting my knickers in a twist (asda ones btw). Are people really interested in clothing brands.confused

etheltbags1 Mon 15-Jun-20 22:37:03

riverwalk I'm not sour I'm amused at the importance people put on clothes. wink

Maggiemaybe Mon 15-Jun-20 22:40:06

Today I have been mainly wearing a navy and white striped dress. Boden Blackberry, if anyone’s interested. I bought three in different patterns for about £40 in their clearance maybe ten years ago.

I like a Summer frock. It saves me having to think about what goes with what. Though I have just added a fetching pair of multicoloured thick socks, as it’s got a bit chilly.

Callistemon Mon 15-Jun-20 22:44:31

I've been wearing socks all day.
Crazy Clarks, Australia.

downtoearth Mon 15-Jun-20 23:03:50

Awh thankyou * Riverwalk* blush

Puzzler61 Tue 16-Jun-20 06:45:53

ethel you really have a bee in your bonnet about perceived bragging.
One thing I remember my dear mum saying was “if you haven’t got anything nice to say, be quiet”.
