Hi all,
I always went barefoot then got fed up with having to wipe the soles of my feet as they always felt unclean (even though my house is spotless), so I bought some cheap black sliders from Tesco. What do you wear? X

My pet hate is bare feet indoors. I always wear pretty slippers and always have a spare pair. I also take them on holiday with me.

Usually a pair of baffies!! (slippers to the uninitiated). Then comfy shoes when taking the dog out!

Isotoners from TK Maxx or Amazon, they are like ballet pumps, very soft, light, velvety, comfortable & come in all different colours.

Crocs, not too hot or cold great if you have to pop outside. Washable .

Sitting here with bare feet at the moment BUT just wanted to share that my step-son had plantar faciitis and his GP said the cause was probably from always walking around the house with bare feet! Just googled it to make sure I wasn't mis-remembering and found this:-

- If you have high arches or flat arches (many people lean one way or the other), going barefoot can increase your chances of developing heel pain, or plantar fasciitis. Running or walking barefoot for long periods of time on hard surfaces can quickly put strain on your arch and wear down the fatty heel pad.

Summer light weight slippers or sandals in the summer and lovely warm snuggly furry boot type slippers in the winter.

Take no notice of Maw, thinks she’s a moderator, she isn’t

Gabor lanzerote mules in Summer, moshulu slippers in Winter!

Flip flops in spring, summer and autumn. Must be Crocs - blissful and washable.
Slippers in winter, preferable the bootee type.

Bare feet...the dog runs off with my shoes and I can't be bothered to keep trying to find them!

Sarahmob Fri 26-Jun-20 13:24:01

Flip-flops when it’s hot, slippers in the colder weather

I have to wear orthotics all the time in my shoes so need something fairly substantial even indoors. At the moment I am wearing a pair of M&S lookalike Sketchers which are lightweight but still give me support. In the winter I get very cold feet so wear thick socks with sheepskin slippers.

Lulubelle500 Fri 26-Jun-20 13:40:09

Always bare feet. All day they're cooped up in trainers or shoes or sandals and deserve a good wriggle. (I have my shower at night, because I can't be doing with grubby sheets!)

No I don’t.
Just would prefer people, especially in these days of social distancing, to keep their unwanted xxxx to themselves. ??

FarNorth Fri 26-Jun-20 13:52:12

I always get some casual slip-ons, to wear in the house.
Being at home all the time in lockdown, tho, I noticed they don't give enough support so now I wear chunky walking sandals indoors.

(xxx to MawB.
I think we're all suitably distanced to make that okay. sunshine )

Bare feet in house always..... and usually in the garden ( sometimes painful).... the freedom is enormous . I’m 70 and my feet are in perfect condition . My kids went barefoot and so do my grandkids! In house and garden of course!!

FarNorth Fri 26-Jun-20 13:58:48

Usually barefoot, but broke my little toe yesterday on the sofa leg. A&E doctor advised footwear indoors. Apparently it happens a lot.

A warning for many posting on this thread. shock

DanniRae Fri 26-Jun-20 13:58:57

I have a very painful big toe because of an ingrowing toe nail and I am having toe nail surgery next week (dreading it!) so at the moment my Animal flip flops are worth their weight in gold as I have no other foot ware that I can tolerate shock

Lynnp Fri 26-Jun-20 14:03:27

Crocs all the way for me. The most comfortable things on the planet. No problems with my feet either x

Heartily concur with Grannylyn65 and the others who have dared to point out that MawB is not in charge here, it sometimes feels that way and people seem scared of correcting her or disagreeing with her. Well, I’m not.
