Please don’t jump down my throat, I am making an observation, not criticising but does anyone else think Wilfred is very long/tall for an 11 week old?
In yesterday’s photograph he looks almost ready for standing.

I think the last Downing Street baby was Leo Blair

I remember Florence Cameron was born in Cornwall while the Camerons were on holiday but I can't remember whether DC was in Downing Street by then.

Yes he was, we were down there staying near the Cameron’s with our grandsons. The boys found themselves surfing alongside?. Security bods on the beach, bit weird.

Why come on a thread you have no interest in purely to say you have no interest?!

It always surprises me how often people feel the need to do this!

Going off piste, but why do we all still refer to a new baby’s weight in pounds and ounces?

No one says, “Oh, my new grandson weighed 3 kilos” or whatever.

I wonder about this!

Seems to still be the norm

7lb or 3.175 kg

All my grandchildren had their weights measured in pounds and ounces

kittylester Mon 20-Jul-20 08:54:44

A couple of my children had their weights registered in kg. Didn't half confuse me!!

Callistemon Mon 20-Jul-20 09:39:35

My DGS was measured in kg. (4.825 kg)

Perhaps they come on to let those of us who are, know they're not interested?!!!confused or perhaps just to make sarky unpleasant comments for the sake of it?! Sad really!!

I wish Wilfred a long and happy life, just as I do for all babies born into such an uncertain world.
Yes, he does seem long. My first baby was 9lbs 12oz (I can't think in metric) and is now 6'4".
It amazes me how some people feel the need to be unpleasant.

JenniferEccles Mon 20-Jul-20 12:18:29

Wow henetha 9lb 12 !!
I bet that brought tears to your eyes, and a first baby too!

kittylester Mon 20-Jul-20 15:27:16

My 4th was 9lb 8oz and the biggest in the nursery, or so I though! The nurse came round and woke me to go and feed my baby as she was crying. I staggered in, picked up the big baby near the door, fed it, all the while wondering why my baby wouldn't feed and why someone didn't come and feed the baby wailing at the other side of the room. Went back to bed only to be told that I really should go and feed my baby as she was getting distressed. Oops!!

Oh Kitty! Have you told your daughter the tale?

That sounds like one of those ‘never lived it down’ family stories!!

granzilla Tue 21-Jul-20 09:57:37

I thought his name was Theodore and I've convinced DH. blush Not that he was very interested.
Who was I thinking of? confused

Callistemon Tue 21-Jul-20 10:14:46

Boris does have a son called Theodore Apollo with his then wife, Marina Wheeler, but he's 21.

Wilfred's big half-brother.

Callistemon Tue 21-Jul-20 10:16:31

Ps Theodore has the same hair as his father

granzilla Tue 21-Jul-20 10:21:10

Ah. I see, wrong kid. Thank you callistemon I'll now try to impress DH. smile

Callistemon Tue 21-Jul-20 10:23:37

You're welcome!

I knew there was a Theodore around somewhere but I had to check grin

henetha Tue 21-Jul-20 11:53:17

Hi JenniferEccles.. smile. My second baby was only a couple of pounds lighter...

henetha Tue 21-Jul-20 11:55:05

Duh! I meant ounces... he was 9lbs 8 oz.

ladymuck Tue 21-Jul-20 11:57:17

What is the point you are making,Annesixty? We saw Carrie when she was pregnant, we got the news when the baby was born. Is there some doubt about how old the baby is? Why??

felice Tue 21-Jul-20 12:24:08

I wondered the same Ladymuck, perhaps a remake of the baby in the bedwarmer ??????

DS1 was 9lbs 5oz, and was nicknamed Rod as he had hair like Rod Stewart, now 6ft and could hide behind a lamppost !!

Desdemona Tue 21-Jul-20 12:30:02

I love babies, whatever they look like!

They are the future of the planet and are good to cuddle so whats not to like? smile

annsixty Tue 21-Jul-20 13:29:19

I was not making any point at all.
I just made an observation that the baby was perhaps longer or taller than SOME other babies.
Nothing sinister, plotting or even suggesting anything else.
After many years I think I am coming to realise the perhaps GN is no longer for me.

To be fair to annsixty I honestly don’t think she had any hidden agenda !! Bad luck Ann !
My comments re lack of interest were just that....but seem to have provoked the exclamation mark fest
