Nuisance, yes, but I ignore them.
If ads. weren’t on gransnet - courtesy of Google I believe - I’m sure we’d have to pay to register and use this site.
The modern way of things ..

Ah I used to use adblock when I used a browser called Opera. My updated laptop now has Chrome and I had forgotten about adblock, mind you, local papers hate it and pop ups from them appear lecturing about the fact that they need the revenue from the ads. Seems an absurd cycle of nuisance to me. Still clearly no one else cares very much, thanks for the reminders!

I'm not sure there is anything anyone can do about this but, am I the only one who loathes the number of ads on websites now and if so, what do you do about them?

It just happened again with Gransnet, I no longer read local papers online if I can help it and if I stay on the site, I have perfected a way of completely ignoring the ads while the page reloads and reloads! I understand, of course, that they 'pay' for the site itself but aren't they useless to the advertiser if they set up resistance in the viewer? I don't know what responses I am expecting, perhaps I'm just venting! Over to you!
