all star jamboree I enjoyed Harry and Meghan's wedding!
Although I wasn't actually there.

Not interested in reading anything about any of them.
So un-important to me.
The so-called book will be in the charity shops within months and what`s the betting the Depp rubbish will be made into a film as i have no doubt Covid 19 will be.

confused Why are you on this thread then?

Framilode Tue 28-Jul-20 17:50:48

Totally agree Anniebach. I would imagine that Meghan was giving Harry hell at home when things weren't going to her plan. He is so desperate to keep her and make her happy that I feel sorry for him. He is no longer rational. I'm afraid I still think it will all end in tears.

^all star jamboree^ I enjoyed Harry and Meghan's wedding!

And I’ll bet many others enjoyed it too but in retrospect of course it was all dreadful!!

eazybee has pinpointed the problem
In a nutshell:
they could not accept that they were supporting players

If they had taken on some of the duties such as those involving the Commonwealth as Harry started to do with The Queen's Commonwealth Canopy, then they could have found themselves with their own high profile work where they were the "stars" as they both desperately seem to need. Instead, they hitched their wagon to William and Kate who are always going to be the main players.

Their advice was abysmal. Or if it was not, they ignored it.
Such a pity.

Sorry for all the cliches.

Callistemon Tue 28-Jul-20 17:56:08

Meghan's veil with the Commonwealth flowers embroidered on to it was inspired and I really thought that was an indication of the route they would take.

I am constantly amazed At the inside knowledge GNers appear to have about the inner workings of H and M minds.

I don’t specially like the bitching about Diana either to be honest.

I await being told to get off the thread .....

I know nothing.

Just my thoughts.

Tongue in cheek I think ?

Anniebach Tue 28-Jul-20 20:58:38

There has been no bitching about Diana , she did play the press, it was coincidence when on holiday on Fayed’s yacht the
press turned up as she was sitting on the end of a diving board,
coincidence the press knew on a holiday she was visiting the
villa where the Duke and Duchess of Windsor had lived ?

quizqueen Tue 28-Jul-20 22:08:06

If Harry had wanted to leave the royal family for years then surely Chelsea was the obvious choice. They could have lived in Africa, where she was from, and done lots humanitarian work. Chelsea genuinely didn't want the limelight so Harry could have just quietly got on with his life doing his good works with animals and poor people on that continent, which he claims are important him.

Now a Chelsea book would be really interesting. Lucky Beatrice, having to have a quiet, small wedding. It meant she didn't have to invite them!

Anniebach Tue 28-Jul-20 22:12:20

If they attended Megan would had to sit behind Camilla and
Kate again !

My point is that I think a lot of people enjoyed watching the wedding, the beautiful dress flowers etc etc but now that Meghan is out of favour even the wedding is being described as an “all star jamboree.”
I dare say Harry and Meghan are a disappointment if you’re into the Royal family etc but I still find the tone of these threads bitchy.

Summerlove Tue 28-Jul-20 22:29:10

Lucca, got it, thanks

I agree with you

merlotgran Tue 28-Jul-20 22:29:24

I remember Harry saying how much he wanted to live in Africa when he was with Chelsey, quizqueen. He's been wanting 'out' for some time but that hasn't stopped him taking advantages of all the privileges in the meantime.

Chelsey and Cressida had lucky escapes. Harry is needy. They would have been stifled but Meghan knows how to use it to her advantage.

Anniebach Wed 29-Jul-20 09:42:57

Criticising hypocrisy is not bitching .

Lucca Wed 29-Jul-20 09:47:28

Lucca Wed 29-Jul-20 09:49:25

Eg comments about Meghan being a “two bit actress “ or the wedding being “an all star jamboree “Are not “criticising hypocrisy “

Anniebach Wed 29-Jul-20 10:10:31

And your claim that there was bitching about Diana ?

Jabberwok Wed 29-Jul-20 10:30:03

I agree with easybee. Playing, as they saw it, second fiddle to William , Katherine and their children for all time with no chance of moving up the pecking order was something they(?) couldn't tolerate! Such a shame about the Commonwealth, they would have been perfect for that extremely valuable role and, as it appeared to mean so much to them, would have made them important in their own right! The Queen offered it to them with no strings attached, but it wasn't good enough! Harry knows perfectly well how the RF operate and should have made this clear to MM before they married, but I expect he was afraid she'd leave him!
I think the Queen had flowers of the then Commonwealth in her wedding veil all those years ago. She took it seriously, MM clearly didn't. I watched the wedding, well, some of it! I thought it was a bit over-the-top but if it made Prince Harry happy, then fine! Now, it just seems that it was an expensive sham and a complete farce!
