Good Morning Everyone,
Its a nice clear blue sky this morning over Brackley .
Today a quiet day , with a small shop this morning .
Lunch and then a nap .
Yesterday , apart from heavy rain whilst out was a reasonable day out .
Looking forward to next weekends break.
Reading local reports Northampton where Blue Sapphire is has gone into a lockdown, with local warnings about being careful etc .
Take care ,
Mick

Good Morning everyone. A lovely sunny start on Severnside this morning.

Oh dear Mick concerning Northampton. I hope BlueSaphire is ok.

I plan to dig some stumps out today as best I can. It’ll probably make me tired so I’ve got some left over food from yesterday to eat. Afterwards have a well deserved G&T.

Had a lovely time with DD yesterday. She gave me her no longer wanted craft stuff so I’m saving that for a rainy day to go through. My brother has sold his sunny weather house and is going to have a new one built so I told DD and showed her the computerised drawings/photos that his wife sent to me.

I hope you all have a good day ?

Morning Mick on this sunny Sunday in Spain - bet you’re excited about your trip aren’t you - been a long time coming!

Some titivating this morning- facial, pedicure, de-fuzz etc. There aren’t many times I wish I was a bloke but that’s one of them - they don’t bother do they!

Off to friends this evening for drinks and tapas so hope everyone has a Placido Domingo!

Nanabanana1 Sun 26-Jul-20 07:01:34

Good morning everyone looks like it may be a good day here in Torbay after all the rain yesterday. The garden was thankful for it though. Another quiet day for me today, after walking the dog.
Don’t overdo the digging Beechnut, I hope the stumps come out easily.
Have a good day all .

Good morning Mick and all, sorry to wake up to the problems in Northampton.
Strangely we are still not considering that making “air bridges” and allowing flights of people from all over and not asking them to quarantine could possibly have anything to do with new outbreaks. ✈️

I went to the Opticians yesterday (long overdue). Met at the door by a young men in protective overall and face visor, invited to use hand sanitiser and sit on a chair with a 1 metre space taped off all around it. I was the only client anyway.

Got all the business done at a safe distance, all machines used were wiped before and after I put my chin on them.
I was given plenty of time to try specs on and put all the ones I tried in a basket for sanitising afterwards before they went back on display. The whole thing was over in 45 mins. Very pleased I went, and in 2 weeks I’ll collect new specs and prescription sunglasses. ? ?

No rush to get up today so I’m lolling a-bed looking out at the sunshine and drinking mint tea. I think we’ll have fish for tea tonight as we had steak and chips, pepper sauce and green beans last night and we like to eat fish instead of meat at least twice a week. We do love a good roast though, so for all who will be having one later - YUM! ?

Thinking of everyone and hoping the weekend is being kind to you all ?

Good morning from The New Forest, if this weather holds out Jessica, our vintage MG will be given an outing. I shall have to give the car a quick clean up, polish the chrome and buff up the paintwork. We might even stop at a watering hole, there's plenty of space in the forest to keep your distance.
Take care, stay safe.

Good morning everyone from south Cornwall where the sky is blue so far. Very, very noisy gulls right above my head at night - roll on August when the babies fledge. Grandson's 3rd birthday barbecue party to go to this afternoon and I finished his knitted dinosaur present just in time! Have a peaceful day if possible everybody.

Grammaretto Sun 26-Jul-20 07:45:37

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. A lot brighter start today. I kept having to dodge showers as I dead headed brutally pruned the roses yesterday.
The crows have gone quiet now their young have flown. That must be like your gulls MellowYellow .
Church on zoom and nursing my toothache today.
Hair appointment tomorrow at last.
Have a nice day everyone wherever you are.

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. Thank goodness that rain has stopped, it was relentless yesterday.
I am not sure what the oriole in charge are thinking making people quarantine from the whole of Spain now, there are people there now, they cannot just have another two weeks off when they get back. Does it apply to people who are already there?
Today I am going walking with DH and a couple of friends. I may try my geocaching skills out if I get the chance.
I really need to go shopping and I have decided that whilst we have to wear a mask I will just shop as and when I need stuff, I feel so strange after a few seconds of walking round with it on. I used to suffer with panic attacks a while back and I really don’t want to get them again. DH said he will go shopping but he won’t buy nice things so I have a dilemma, do I risk the panic attack for a few crisps and biscuits??
Now folks, I insist that you all go out on this sunny day and look around and revel in the beauty of the place we live in. Go for a walk, look in the hedgerows, pick some blackberries, listen for the birds (in between the traffic!) and most of all, be thankful we can.?

Nortsat Sun 26-Jul-20 07:47:11

Good morning Mick and the GM team, from east London, where it is currently sunny. ☀️

We had a good day of cleaning and housework yesterday, so not much to do today.
We watched a very interesting film last night, about Marie Curie called RadioActive. It’s well worth looking out for on Prime (or whatever). What an extraordinary woman she was ... 2 Nobel Prizes and her daughter and son in law were also awarded a Nobel Prize. The film looks at the results of her work and its manifestations in the 20th century, too.

We are having steaks this evening, with red wine jus (my partner’s favourite). I will put a casserole on to slow cook and we’ll have that tomorrow.

Spangler how lovely, a trip out in Jessica ...
Thinking of Bluesapphire, Cherry and Dragonfly
Have a good day all and ? to those who need them. ?

Morning all
It's a lovely sunny morning here in North Yorkshire and I've been up since the crack of dawn tidying the house before our trip up to Scotland in our campervan. Can't wait to see the little GCs again.
Have a good day everyone and enjoy your trip to Harrogate Mick.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Yesterday was a wash out but today looks fine.
Our neighbours flew out to their Spanish apartment yesterday just before the quarantine announcement. She works in the NHS and won't be best pleased.
A quiet Sunday for us with a roast beef dinner.

Yes indeed, the novelty hasn't worn off yet and there's something deliciously subversive about driving without seat belts and still being legal.

Good Morning All. It's a bright day here in Polmont. A bit breezy but a healthy mix of blue skies and cloud. I have nothing planned today. The highlight will be a tesco delivery. I decided that rather than aldi as I couldn't get everything I wanted there. I'm not sure what I want to do today. I think I might draw and paint as I haven't been creative for ages. I want to bake too but haven't decided what. I managed to get hold of yeast which has been in short supply so maybe Chelsea buns. Anyway have a good Sunday whatever you do.

kittylester Sun 26-Jul-20 08:02:40

Morning all from a sunny North Leicestershire.

We saw some of the village scarecrow and will go to see the rest today. There are almost 80 all told. We had thought about joining in but the standard is so high that I'm glad we didn't. blush I still think it's an odd concept in our large village but it seems to have been a success so that is good.

Slow roast lamb and new potatoes for dinner.

I am really pleased that the government has imposed quarantine immediately. The bugs won't wait until people are ready for it.

cornergran Sun 26-Jul-20 08:03:11

Morning Mick, morning All Sky is black over our corner of Somerset. Apparently in for two more days of heavy showers with the occasional storm. Family BBQ was great fun yesterday, the rain stopped for the cooking hour, the chef was delighted. Quiet day ahead here. It seems quarantine is risk to be factored in to foreign holidays. A lot for folk to consider. Be gentle with yourselves everyone and stay safe.

Gingster Sun 26-Jul-20 08:05:36

Good morning all and it seems to be a sunny morning here in Essex. It rained yesterday afternoon and early evening but we desperately needed it.

Spangler have a lovely outing in Jessica. We too have a vintage MGTD. It’s 2 years younger than me. 1952. Racing green. We had a red one in 1968 - 1971 and sold it the evening before our wedding for a boring ‘run of the mill’ saloon. My DH never got over it and so we bought our current one on our Silver Wedding anniversary 24 years ago.

Nortsat . I had booked to see Radioactive at the cinema a couple of weeks ago but chickened our at the last minute. Sounds like it’s worth a viewing.

DD and family coming for traditional Sunday roast today. Chicken and all the trimmings. We have 18yr old gd who eats moderately, twin boys of 14 who eat like horses and you can never fill them up and 4 yr old GD who nibbles like a tiny mouse. Apple strudel, and icecream to follow . (Not homemade).

Dh has gone to his fishing lake to help clear the weeds etc. So I must get on and prepare for the visitors.

Have a peaceful, pleasant Sabbath day. ?

Morning all from a sunny South Notts. The rain absolutely thrashed it down very noisily yesterday evening but it's looking dry so far today. Will do my usual weekly shop later and then relax with the papers. Not very exciting but I like my routine.
That's a fine looking vehicle Splanger, enjoy your drive.
All good wishes to those with worries or illnesses.

Good morning from Shropshire.

As sun is forecast for the whole day it will be a laundry and gardening day.Living the life again??

Thinking of Cherry, dragonfly, blue sapphire and all our other absent good morningers?

gillybob Sun 26-Jul-20 08:10:40

Good morning from the North East coast where we have a bright and breezy start to Sunday .

I did a little shopping yesterday (complete with that awful mask) but it was a case of getting in and out as quickly as possible as I felt very claustrophobic.

Pottered in the garden a bit in the afternoon and had an Indian takeaway for supper (that’s 2 in a month it’s getting to be a bit of a habit) .

No plans for today except for hanging washing out in the hope that it doesn’t rain . I’ve got that day before school feeling today which means I will probably spoil my day worrying about tomorrow .

Thinking of our missing friends BlueSapphire, dragonfly and CherryCezzy , sending them lots of sunshine and hoping that they will be back with us soon .

Have as good a Sunday as possible everyone. Love Gillybob xx

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry and a bit cloudy. Yesterday was mainly dry but we did have one heavy downpour late morning which we got caught in. We’d met DD2 in the local woods for a wander, the DGC had brought their bikes and were happy cycling the ups and down and getting quite muddy. We were about half way round our circular walk when the heavens opened and soaked us all - but we still enjoyed it!
Nothing much planned yet for today probably some gardening later
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

Sar53 Sun 26-Jul-20 08:23:03

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea . Yesterday was grey, miserable and wet so no long walks for us. We did have a quick visit to DH's eldest daughter. The 3 year old twins are always SO pleased to see us.
Today we have booked Sunday lunch at a local pub restaurant, the first time since March. I'm a bit apprehensive but they are taking all precautions.
Have a lovely day everyone and stay safe xx

That sounds wonderful, any photos? My car is actually a YB, same DNA as the TD but it's a saloon version.

It certainly is, if you were to believe my wife she says that the MG acronym means My Girlfriend.
