Good Morning Everyone,
Its a nice clear blue sky this morning over Brackley .
Today a quiet day , with a small shop this morning .
Lunch and then a nap .
Yesterday , apart from heavy rain whilst out was a reasonable day out .
Looking forward to next weekends break.
Reading local reports Northampton where Blue Sapphire is has gone into a lockdown, with local warnings about being careful etc .
Take care ,
Mick

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga ? another day in Paradise.

Football at 5pm (over here) will be tethering us to base. Himself has so many matches he’s interested in. Apparently all the teams play at the same time today - no advantage for anyone I suppose!

I’m not at all into football so will read my latest novel n my Kindle. Any excuse - I can’t put it down & would highly recommend. It’s called ‘A Good Neighborhood’ and was a New York Times bestseller earlier in the year. My absolute favourite type of book.

Enjoy your jaunt out in Jessica Spangler she’s a beauty! Bet she turns heads wherever you go and sparks discussions with petrol heads everywhere.

The U.K. announcement has caught out a few in our apartment block. It was a bit of a shock for some to say the least. Funny though how I feel safe here. Two-pronged really - I don’t want to do trains, airport and a flight but also, once we do do home we’re for staying put for a few months - no flitting back & forth as we usually do. Selfishly, I’m enjoying all the things we can do out here in this gorgeous weather - the beaches, bars & restaurants and walks.

Hope Sunday is kind to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. This virus isn’t going anywhere just yet. x

Good morning from Shetland. I didn’t post yesterday as I was suffering with vertigo. Glad it was raining as I couldn’t venture out of the cottage. I’m still feeling rough this morning but hopefully a short walk will sort me out. DH will go for his run which is longer and hillier than his route at home. I’m thrilled to see him do it when I think of how I’ll he was this time last year. Must stop moaning, there are people on here much worse than me.
Am envious of the MG spangler enjoy!
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Good Morning All x.
Sun first thing but it didn't last and has clouded over--what's new ?
Nothing special today apart from my Sunday dinner later--2 Welsh lamb chops which I'll do in the oven with a few roast pots and also new ones. Rather than cabbage I got broccoli instead. Looking forward to that.

Mustn't forget the new series tonight on BBC1, " A Suitable Boy ". I love all things Indian, so I'll see how it goes.

I only have to put the ironing away today and that's that grin

Spangler, my brother had an MG in the 60's, he bought it from the daughter of Pilkington ( Pilkington's Glass St.Helens ) actress April Wilding---back in the day. It was a nippy little red one he'd used during his courting days grin

Ah well, breakfast calls---stomach's rumbling like an old drain. Hoping all is well with everyone and thoughts to our absent friends, it's tough going xx Stay safe.

Good morning all from a not so pleasant Glasgow, it's quite grey at the moment.

Nothing planned for today at all.

I got a lovely surprise yesterday when I had an unexpected visit from my my DD and future SIL.
I am still suffering badly from the side effects of my treatment and had been feeling very low.
My daughter's fiancè knew I had been admiring a print of a painting of the skyline Paisley, where I was brought up, but it was sold out.
He managed to source a framed one and bought it for me. I was so touched by his kind gesture, especially as I thought I had managed to cover up how I was feeling.

Thing of all our friends who are struggling and wishing Old Goat a safe journey.
Enjoy your day, everyone.

You are psychic, just stop anywhere and gentlemen of a certain age will be taking photos on their phones.

Such a pedigree for a car, I would loved to have seen that.

Gingster Sun 26-Jul-20 08:48:36
Ooh-la-la!

Marydoll Sun 26-Jul-20 09:03:20

Oh, I love those cars! ?

Someone on the GM thread asked me for my tablet recipe, but I can't remember whom. If you remind me, I will send it.

Urmstongran Sun 26-Jul-20 09:08:51

Oh gillybob did you cry? I thought the acting was just brilliant. I cared so much for all the characters!

Next up: The Sopranos.
I rated it equally (if not a teeny bit better!).

Greyduster Sun 26-Jul-20 09:14:22

Good morning Michael and all GNs. The sun is shining on and off in South Yorkshire. We had none of the much heralded storms yesterday; no rain at all. Maybe today is the day, or maybe a lot of people in the Met Office should be paid by results! I had a terrible sneezing fit in a supermarket yesterday (behind a mask I hasten to add!). Instant social distancing took place!
Not sure what we are doing today. Not a lot I suspect. Boeuf Strognoff for dinner. Have a safe journey to Scotland Oldgoat and a lovely stay.
Have a good day folks.

gillybob Sun 26-Jul-20 09:14:32

Oh I did cry Urms

Mainly for poor Hank who I loved . But was sad when Walt died too even though he was technically a bad guy ( he killed himself really didn’t he ?) . I was so worried for Jesse but glad he made it through . I loved the whole 5 series’ .

So Sopranos is your next recommendation ? Great that’s me sorted . smile

Urmstongran Sun 26-Jul-20 09:17:16

‘What y’gonna do?’ ?

harrigran Sun 26-Jul-20 09:35:19

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Have you watched El Camino gilly ? There is also Better call Saul.
We watched The Promise last night, quite harrowing but I watched it right through. DH said that it had actually made a loss at the box office.
Managed about an hour in the garden yesterday but it soon gets too cool to sit here in the north.
Not surprised at the quarantine announcement.

Good morning from east London, sunny early on, then clouded and brightening up again; that’s what happens when you get your head stuck in a book (Maja Lunde, The end of the ocean). Today will be quiet compared to yesterday; we had GD2 all day while her parents demolished a wall at the Southend house and she kept me well entertained. We borrowed GD1 from her dad for the afternoon so all bar the babe got wet when we walked to the park but didn’t care as both GDs were enjoying themselves and it was quite mild. GD2 (nearly 7 months) is a lot more active now, what with her reverse crawling, double rolls and sitting up to change direction. Amazing how fascinating the cord on her jogger pants is and the flecks in the carpet. GD1 talks to her all the time, tells her she’s going to teach her how to do things safely like to jump off the second step up the staircase first, not the fourth one like she does (....).
Back to basics, tomato plants to feed plus some to pick and decide if I’m going to cook something specific for dinner. Have a good day.

Good morning Mick and all

The clouds have obliterated the blue sky (they are going your way Sar53 ) . I shall have another lazy day until we go out for a late Sunday lunch.

I do hope that A suitable Boy is good tonight as I am looking forward to the series.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Froglady Sun 26-Jul-20 10:30:19

Quite an overcast day in Blackburn.
I have just given a Bose music system to freecycle (it had an intermittent fault on it and I'm not technically minded to be able to sort it out). I will be on the lookout for a cd player, with speakers and, hopefully, a DAB radio as well. I like to have something in most rooms that I can play music on.
I shall be tidying up a bit today as am having my flat deep cleaned tomorrow, so want to put away as much stuff as I can do.

Serendipity22 Sun 26-Jul-20 10:54:16

Goooood morning everyone from Yorkshire.... the sun was beaming this morning, glorious....

Yesterday I ventured into town complete with mask ! I can't say that the experience was as I expected, I know it is a necessity..... BUT !
Last night my GD slept so today we are having a fabulous girlie day.

I wish everyone a lovely Sunday, whatever you all choose to do... smile

Good morning from breezy mid -Notts. I'm not sure if the sun is going to shine or it's going to pour with rain. A lazy day for us with football ⚽ this afternoon!! Final game of the season too. It's not quite the same watching on t.v. as being there. But being realistic that's probably how it's going to be for some time to come. Hope everyone has the best day possible and please stay safe. Up the Blades and all that too!! X

Puzzler61 Sun 26-Jul-20 11:08:01

Enjoy the match BAnnie May the best team win, as long as it’s yours ? X.

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 26-Jul-20 11:08:10

Good Morning all. Cloudy here, we've had a shower, not. much hope of anything brighter! Had small GS yesterday, he's obsessed with counting. When he gets to 20, it's two-ty, then two-ty-one and two-ty-two. I think it's pretty good for a 6 year old who has Down Syndrome!

Purplepixie Sun 26-Jul-20 11:15:52

Good morning from a cloudy and breezy East Midlands.

I love Spangler and thank you for the photo.

I have a 1953 Ford Pop which my husband is doing a refit on at the moment.

Marydoll - I hope you feel better soon and I love the print of Paisley, such a lovely place.

Take care all and have the best day possible. I am heading back to bed as I had a rubbish two nights sleep.

Greyduster Sun 26-Jul-20 11:28:10

BladeAnnie??. If they lose today I am going to hide in a cupboard for the rest of the week, out of DH’s way. But we’re going to win, aren’t we?! Yessss!

BladeAnnie Sun 26-Jul-20 15:38:26

Puzzler61 and Greyduster - yes let's not have Mr Wilder's boys letting us down!! Puzzler i will pm you later smile

Puzzler61 Sun 26-Jul-20 16:23:46
