Having a lazy day today (when don't I?). Watered my 100 or so pots first thing after my walk, then it got too hot outdoors so pottered inside.

This afternoon I decorated some large pebbles to add to the Rock Snake which has been started in the village, with The Railway Children on TV in the background. I was surprised how little of the story I remembered.

This morning went BlackBerry picking with DH, although it's early and not alot of ripe berries we .managed to pick 2.8 Kgs between us. Now I'm waiting g to put the jam, just hope it sets well, I don't like "drippy" jam so fingers crossed there.
Then I did a spot of cleaning downstairs, hovered, mopped and dusted.
All in all, it's been a busy day up to now, hence am having a well deserved rest until supper time.

Lovely artwork on the stones shysal. I've done very little today flying, half the crossword and I haven't even started on the ironing which is getting drier and wrinklier by the second. I know I'll pay for it later. What a lazy article I am.

On my way to get the paper I delivered a facemask to a nephew's girlfriend. When 'tidying' my sewing room I came cross some sunflower material and I recalled that they are her favourite flowers so I thought, why not? If she doesn't like it she can pass it on to a friend.

I think the kettle beckons.

Speaking of diaries, when I heard that I was going to be confined to home for the foreseeable future ( date is now August 16th, in Wales we are doing an extra fortnight or so) I decided to write a diary. Since Day 1 have written a page slightly larger than A4. The idea was that I would then be forced to do something each day that was worth writing about. As time went on, I added bits about family news, Cv-19 figures, weather etc. and I have kept it up, intending to do so until the end of sheltering. I didn’t type it, to discipline myself to actually write with pen and paper, something I rarely did. I haven’t looked back on what I wrote, and don’t intend to in the near future. Doubt whether anyone else will either. It won’t be an exciting read, but I made the effort.

I have had a lovely day. Got up fairly early, cut the lawns, back, front, and side. Tied up my triffid like tomato plants, with more stacks, picked runner beans and raspberries. Did two loads of washing, and deadheaded flowers in hanging baskets. Then my sister came round for the afternoon and we sat SD in the garden trying to sort out her knitting which she was stuck on. We had an afternoon of laughter especially when i sat in the deck chair and it tilted to the side i dare not move incase i ended up on the floor,and i couldn't do anything for laughing, the neighbours must have been wondering what was happening. An afternoon which will leave wonderful memories for us both.

Went for a swim in the beautiful North Sea

Went for a walk along the canal bank today. Passed an area with picnic benches and a coffee and snacks mobile caravan.

I thought to myself things almost look normal with families at each table enjoying their drinks. I was tempted to buy a coffee and continue on my walk. Then a man who was sitting at a table coughed and made no attempt to cover his mouth, just opened his mouth and let rip. His selfish, disgusting behaviour made me about turn.

Up early, reflux, serves me right for a) extra glass of wine in local and b) eating late,...8:30pm. Enjoying the coolness as here down south it was hot, hot yesterday. Cleaned cloakroom.
Caught up on here and fb, read paper and started crossword. Daughter and her two GC came for bbq about 3pm, first time they have been and stayed in garden for any length of time, it was lovely, still no cuddles, now watching FA cup. Have a lovely evening all.

I’m glad you had a fun time yesterday FlyingH. Just what you needed to distract you from the pain.
Sometimes I have the best time doing something I didn’t think I was looking forward to, do you find that?

Today was a brilliant day as I spent it with my oldest daughter in a local Spa. Not wanting to boast but it was blooming lovely. The massage has eased all my ‘knotty’ bits, and it’s always a treat to spend time with my beloved daughter.
It was her birthday present and we do it annually. It’s become a ‘tradition’.

Oh Jaxj I get that blooming acid reflux too.
We know what causes it, but we still have a meal a bit too late and that last glass of wine don’t we? ?
We wouldn’t be human if we didn’t. Thank goodness for antacids!

I’ve had a long walk through the woods with DH (sheltering under a tree when we had a quick shower), made soup from the allotment broccoli glut, and given the garden benches a quick coat of paint while himself watched the football. Feeling virtuous now. DH is making tea, then we’ll do Jay’s pub quiz and watch The Second Wave. With a G & T in my case. Maybe two.

I’d rather have been on a spa day with one of my lovely daughters though, Puzzler.

Just made two apple strudels. I’m going to see my son, DiL and some of the grandchildren tomorrow for a roast lunch, so I said I’d take the pudding.

We met friends we haven't seen IRL for the past four months. Lovely! She's 78 and he's 80 and they've recently become 'an item'. Ahhh....

I made a roast lamb dinner and son came round to help us eat it.
Did the dishes and settled down for a leisurely afternoon.
Printed some documents for a colleague of DH's and went and delivered them.
Now I'm about to watch The Voice Kids.

Did some mending prior to holiday in ancient cottage starting tomorrow. Lots of washing and ironing, not pleasant in this heat. Then off to DS and family for tea, cake, croquet (actually came ahead of DH!) and table tennis in their garden.

Really must start packing!!

I looked after my grandchildren this afternoon and it was the first time I’d had both together as grandson was born 3 days before lockdown. Granddaughter aged 3 was a star and the little one cried loudly until we hit upon the idea of taking him for a walk in the buggy - thank goodness I had it in my car boot! We went for a little walk and he fell asleep. He woke up and cried again! I ended up pushing him round and round the garden. That was the only way he was happy. Was I delighted to see mum and dad pull up on the drive ?. This evening I’m babysitting ... I’m a softie but can’t say no and I’ve just put granddaughter to bed. Little one has been asleep since I arrived. Wish me luck!!

Well, yesterday, after reading a thread on here, I resolved to get my sewing machine out and make face masks.

I'd like to say I made a dozen or so, but so far - nil.
I have been busy, though.
