Some of these parents need to realise the danger they are encouraging their daughters into.

No I don’t think you are, I see the same with primary school children every day when our very close Academy is open it’s very sad.

Who are your FB friends? None of my friends post such pictures and I am in groups which give me local information and art groups which give me help and support.

Good grief, not on any of the posts I see. Rather a harsh condemnation of all school children based on a couple of ill advised photos by some rather stupid parents who will probably be back on the same pages in a day or so grumbling that their precious child has been sent home for contravening uniform regulations. Just ignore the fools

Several schools near us its only the older ones 15+ who dress up at weekends the schools here are very good.

I see some awful sights near us. Can only assume that their parents don't realise they go out dressed like they do.

I know what you mean about short skirts but to be honest I’ve not seen any dressed that way, not pouting anyway, not from primary school. But I did see a woman walking along last year with a young child maybe 7/8 years old wearing a T-shirt which read Too many boys not enough time! I must admit that did shock me, obviously the T-shirt didn’t bother the mother

Strict school uniform here at secondary level and a uniform at primary level too.

The children I see are definitely primary in school uniform not so much the fishnet tights, black usually but short skirts and large handbags instead of school bags maybe they lower the skirts in school but it’s not a good look for under 12s.

I doubt that the clothes were ‘ back to school clothes’ probably dressing up or birthday party clothes.

I just object to people putting photos of any children on the Internet until the children are old enough to agree or disagree.
My GCs are 14 and 16, neither of them want any photos of themselves on social media, so it would have been a gross invasion of their privacy if my DD1 had been putting their pictures on her social media sites. (She hadnt of course)

Actually, there was one photo that GD agreed to have on FB, she had her long hair cut very short to help raise funds for her best friend who was terminally ill with Cancer, she was 13/14 at the time.

Backpacks here, thank goodness, as they have so much to carry. Each day is like a route march with full kit.

No schoolbags allowed in our schools for the forseeable future.in a bid to stop infection.All packed lunches have to be in disposable containers and disposed of in school bins. Skirts ...I well remember rolling up my skirt and so did almost every girl I knew in my all girls convent school .Of course the nuns made us roll the waisband back down .. but we always managed to keep them shorter than the mid knee we were told to wear. That was in the mid sixties,its fashion and it wont ever go away ,we just have to let our girls enjoy it whiile keeping a close watch on WHO they spend time with on or off the internet .My mother who was born in the 20's ..the 1920's used to tell my dad to stop moaning about skirts or eye makeup...she'd tell him " at that age they'd be as well dead as out of fashion at least thats what they think"

DGC back to school today, both look lovely in their uniforms. But they’ve been told they have to have a clean set of clothes everyday - doesn’t any parent have five complete sets of school uniform?! DD is ultra (too!) fussy about cleanliness but she certainly doesn’t!

Yes clothes to be washed every day. No blazers because of the impracticality of this.

Paddyanne I too was at an all girls convent and yes we rolled our skirts up around the waist I m still in touch with friends who were boarders and they tell me how they used to hang out the window at night smoking surely we ve all broken the age rules
How do your school kids manage without bags paddyanne all their books are kept in them ??? My granddaughter practically takes a suitcase (well a tiny exaggeration but not much)

I live close to a secondary school and it is a strict school uniform but I have noticed at lunchtime or after school, the skirts are hiked up to mini skirts but they did not start off at that length early am. Definitely no fishnets.

When I went to high school in the fifties we had to kneel to check our skirts did not touch the ground. The "New Look", mid calf, was strictly forbidden!

I knew a teacher who, when asked what classes she taught responded with “the 3 T’s”.
When asked to clarify she would say ”Tarts, Toe-rags and Thugs”
