One of my fvourite proverbs is proverbs chapter 17 verse 1, Better is a piece of dry bread where there is peace, than a house full of feastng along with quarreling.

There's something called "www" (world wide web) out there containing millions of proverbs, some charming, some charming (not!), some rude, some clever, in fact there's a proverb to suit any occasion!
There's no room or need for DIY proverbs!

Twain was also attributed with:

But there's no evidence that he actually said it. Never the less it's a useful proverb when the political threads overheat.
If you check The Bible you will find something very similar in: Proverbs 17:28.
