What Do You Do When There's Wee On A Public Loo Seat?

I always seem to choose a loo in which the previous (or one long since gone) occupant has left wee on the loo seat (and sometimes a puddle on the floor - no attempt to clear it up).

Through gritted teeth, I wipe it off because... I don't want the person following me in to think it was MY wee!

Do you wipe up, leave it in situ or loudly say 'Harumph' so those in the queue behind you know it's not yours!

Having not actually been in a loo queue for many many months, you can see how this wee problem(!) has been worrying me!

I of course understand that there are emergencies and people have to dash to the loo but couldn't they clear up afterwards?

If possible, I would choose another loo.
If not, I would get some loo paper and wipe it off, grimacing as I did, then wash my hands extra well when I finished.
I always check if there is loo paper before sitting down.

If i`m desperate i use wet wipes and clean it up,other than that i go to another cubicle.
My brother noticed women`s toilets seem far more un-clean than mens these days.
My brother is in the pub trade by the way.haha.

I blame the hoverers.
If there is a choice, then I just use a different toilet.

I object to having to mop up after dirty people.

If there’s a dirty toilet, I walk in, walk out again.
Difficult when in a queue, so when faced with the wee on seat and floor, here is my modus operandi: wipe seat then throw sheets of toilet roll on the ‘floor wee’, then when I stand up, move the ‘wet floor’ tissue to the side of loo with my foot.
Scurry out, hoping next person doesn’t think it’s me... 😂

Some strange threads being started - this one and another about whether you flush each time confused

Chewbacca Wed 26-Aug-20 10:51:53

I'd do the same as Calendargirl but if it's a real mess in there, I back out and wait for another cubicle to come free.

Candelle Wed 26-Aug-20 14:38:35

Yes, I know the topic is strange (and I nearly conflated it with the similar 'flushing' one but didn't want to hijack that one) but it really is something that I have been thinking about. Yes, I know, too much time on my hands!

In an interval at for example, the theatre, there is always a huge queue with often only three or four cubicles in the ladies section. Or perhaps in a station where people rush for trains. Everyone has their eye on the time and there is often no such luxury of waiting for another stall to become free.

I am always in two minds as quite what to do: wipe (which I usually do) or brazen it out on my departure.

I just wonder what others do...

If I have that happen.... I hover
Don’t blame me MissAdventure I m an extremely well rehearsed hoverer with strong leg muscles

AGAA4 Wed 26-Aug-20 15:18:55

I can never understand how grown women can make and then leave a mess on a toilet seat. Understandable for a young child but mum should check that all is clean before leaving.

Millie22 Wed 26-Aug-20 17:15:02

O no not another one.

MissAdventure Wed 26-Aug-20 17:51:29

It's not your day, today Millie22

Chewbacca Wed 26-Aug-20 18:01:22

grin shouldn't laugh really Millie

pollyperkins Wed 26-Aug-20 18:03:41

Wipe it, use it, wash hands. No problem. I blame hoverers too. Don’t see the point of hovering.

pollyperkins Wed 26-Aug-20 18:04:04

But not Bluebelle!! 😁

EllanVannin Wed 26-Aug-20 18:06:07

I wouldn't use it, simple as that. Dirty beggars.

BlueSky Wed 26-Aug-20 18:35:27

I always hover but it's not me! No trouble balancing on public toilets!

Oopsminty Wed 26-Aug-20 18:37:54

The last time I saw this horrific sight I burst into tears

I was in hospital visiting my dying mother

The loos had recently been changed to unisex

I'd been earlier ... all was fine

Went again some time later.

Loo seat up

Urine droplets on the bowl

It was just too much for me to cope with at the time.

Gwyneth Wed 26-Aug-20 18:51:53

Are loos in all hospitals unisex now? Also are wards single sex or mixed? Must admit would really feel uncomfortable in a mixed sex ward.

Millie22 Wed 26-Aug-20 19:08:02

Sorry! I couldn't help it. So much toilet talk.

Marydoll Wed 26-Aug-20 19:18:41

I had a much worse experience that. I went into a cucicle in Rome airport right after a lady had used it.
The floor, bowl and seat were covered in poo. 😱🤬😫 I was actually gagging. She never even blushed, as she pushed past!
I called after her and said she was disgusting.

Marydoll Wed 26-Aug-20 19:19:09

Sorry, cubicle!

Millie22 Wed 26-Aug-20 20:16:49

Oh no this is all getting too much now. Tmi Marydoll. And I've always wanted to go to Rome.

Marydoll Wed 26-Aug-20 20:20:12

The toilets in Fumicino are always spotless, the cleaners are always hovering about, pardon the pun, that's why I was so shocked!

The lady made no attempt to clean up. Even if she had had an accident, she could have attempted to clean it or at least apologise. I would have.

JuliaM Wed 26-Aug-20 20:28:30

The worst dirty Ladies toilets I have had the misfortune of entering were at my Daughters graduation ceremony which was held in a large Theatre venue in Leicester. It was clear that some people did not have a clue how to use a standard Toilet, and the floors were covered in urine. The poor cleaner who was trying her best to clean each cubicle as it became vacant, explained that many international visitors had never seen or used this type of toilet before in their lives, and their normal set up was for the Turkish style toilets which are fully designed for Squatting, and resemble a shower tray with raised foot plates either side, and a continuous trickle of water to flush them. Indeed, my elderly sister in law was shocked when visiting Inca on the island of Majorca, to find this type of toilet was the only one available to her, and she was desperate to go for a Poo at the time!
