Erections on television ?

On channel 4 tonight there will be a “documentary” with pictures of erect penises(?). Will anyone be watching? Is this the start of full on porn on terrestrial television? I might watch just to remind myself of what I’ve been missing! What do you all think? If I said my remark was tongue in cheek it might be misconstrued ???

I agree withlemongrove maybe it will be helpful for men with erectile dysfunction. Men often find it difficult to talk about this so if it helps.......
Just hope its a serious programme and not just titillation ( unfortunate choice of word )
The rest of us can watch Downton or Cormoran Strike.

Bluebellwould, I suspected that.
We have a saying in Glasgow.
Do you think I came up the Clyde on a banana boat wink

It'd put right off my dinner. In dim lighting on your beloved possibly. In wide screen plasma, no thanks.

I thought it was illegal too, eazybee. The law must have changed while my attention was elsewhere. I don't think I'll be watching.
Some men may find their anxiety is even worse after watching it.

me too dont have a tv. but then again we might need a stiff talking to. ???????

I must just take a sneaky look at that whilst my husband has his nightly bath! But, in all honesty, I think that the “standing to attention” is a step too far for tv.

Faux pas alert! I just realised what I said could be taken 2 ways! I meant to say the erect manhood on TV, not on my husband!! Oooops!
Deep down, I really think that this sort of programme is totally unacceptable for tv. It’s going too far. Many people will tune in out of curiosity, but i’m not in favour of this type of programming. Also think Naked Attraction unacceptable. And shallow! Picking a partner for how they look naked - no! Like Lemongrove, i’m very much enjoying watching Downton. I have the box set so i’ve got the bonus material too, lucky me.

Sounds like a bit of a cock-up to me grin

I'm not sure if this is illegal now, but in any event they would probably justify it by calling it a health documentary. No I won't be watching - not because I am easily shocked but because I think the programme will be very boring.

biba70 Mon 31-Aug-20 13:53:53

Honestly? no won't be watching.

My main concern though, it that such viewings, create totally unrelatistic expectations - same with most porn. Both for the young women who will be watching, and then find 'normal' men not quite up to those standards. But mainly for young men themselves, who will be comparing themselves to those exceptional, and possible helped by plastic surgery, super well endowed 'men' - thus creating a sense of inferiority and disatisfaction with their more natural and 'normal' implements. Just like young women looking at plastic surgeoned and photoshopped and often sick/anorexic models. Tragic and sad.

it`s amazing how many of us have said it`s not really for them, but they will take a peek. C`mon girls.......if you want to look be brave about it.

I’m glad you warned me. I remember when I mistook the show Naked Attraction in TV menu For the Fatal Attraction film ?
I didn’t like it but kept watching ?

Beechnut that gave me such a laugh ???

Elegran Mon 31-Aug-20 15:09:22

If it really is a "health" show, the examples shown will be from the modest middle of the range down to the microscopic. Could encourage the less spectacular specimens. Maybe it will be stressed that it ain't what you've got, it's what you do with it?

Lolo81 Mon 31-Aug-20 15:27:33

Well although it’s not my cup of tea at all to look at standing tallywhackers, I don’t see the issue at all. The female form in all its glory is fine to be seen on tv, so why not it’s male counterpart? It’s not exactly the most attractive part of a man so I doubt there would be much titillation!

annep1 Mon 31-Aug-20 15:41:49

I'll have a peak out of curiosity but really what is the world coming to? !

Tweedle24 Mon 31-Aug-20 15:44:10

Bluebellewould. Thanks for the heads up (oops!). I did not know it was on until you mentioned it ?

Callistemon Mon 31-Aug-20 15:44:51

Well, I was looking forward to the programme until you said, Bluebellwould. I'm so disappointed.

Bluebellwould Mon 31-Aug-20 16:10:54

Callistemon, I’m baffled as to why I have disappointed you.

Callistemon Mon 31-Aug-20 16:20:05

grin

Oopsminty Mon 31-Aug-20 16:22:57

They aren't the most attractive of things

I always found them slightly comical

Best not let Mr Minty know about that

I'll probably watch so I can point and giggle in a juvenile way

Callistemon Mon 31-Aug-20 16:28:38

But I think the Eiffel Tower is very graceful, Oopsminty and very attractive.

TrendyNannie6 Mon 31-Aug-20 16:36:13

Boodymum67 well I’m going to watch it, ??

JuliaM Mon 31-Aug-20 16:59:48

It wouldn’t bother me in the slightest if they showed it or not, many years ago l used to deal with them on a daily basis, and get paid for it, all shapes and sizes, as have most nurses that have ever worked on a male ward would have done.
Some of the young students were clearly shocked the first time they had to fit an incontinence Sheath onto a patient, and some would ‘oblige’ by making themselves ‘ready‘ to make the job a whole lot easier for the nurse!

Oopsminty Mon 31-Aug-20 17:05:37

Callistemon

But I think the Eiffel Tower is very graceful, Oopsminty and very attractive.

That made me laugh out loud, Callistemon!

lovebeigecardigans1955 Mon 31-Aug-20 17:06:25

grumppa Mon 31-Aug-20 17:14:31
