Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking a grey start over brackley this morning but its dry at the moment.
Usual day bit of a tidy up and hopefully change my ink cartridges today.
Before watching cycling on TV , not tour de France as its a rest day today , but another event in Italy which has also been delayed as its normally held in March.
Take care ,
Mick

Wishing you both a Happy Anniversary Mr&MrsUrms ?

Welcome Spice.

When I read you smiling post Scentia I’d already had a good laugh at someone’s comment on another thread ?

Good Morning All x
Have a Happy Anniversary Day Urmston x winewineflowers

Dull, still but mild. It was so dark this morning it was more like November, without the cold.
I did want to do some washing but I'll wait until the weather's suitable for hanging it out.

I certainly enjoyed my dinner yesterday. Roast chicken with all the trimmings it was like a Christmas dinner, then a chunk of cream cake. Bless me belly as mum would have said grin One has to keep well nourished !

I'll be doing a bit of curtain-twitching today as the vacant flat is being occupied so I'll probably prune the shrubs while peering out smile Not making it look obvious, you understand.

Another day of "trying to find lots of things not to do ". I say it's good to rest now and again as it helps the body heal. My way of looking at it anyway.

Thinking of Gillybob, who hopefully is just having a break from her existing hectic life including school runs. Difficult I know. x flowers
Others too who are finding life a struggle at present.xxflowers

Have a good day everyone and stay safe.xx

Good Morning everyone from the usual hot, blue and sunny etc., etc., in Mediterranean France. grin

Urms. This is my friend, Babs. She doesn't quite have the face to convey many many congratulations and have a happy day, Mr and Mrs Urms, but is on her way to Spain to be on standby for when you need help with the packing and clearing. And she will excel at helping you find the best route home!

You can tell that I have been bingeing on "Dinner Ladies". I think Babs' humorous contribution featured in the episode on New Year's Eve. Ellan there's a fabulous appearance by Thora Hird in the episode about the factory staff bringing family in for tea!! Lots of wonderful actors there, including Eric Sykes.

The fact that you don't like quizzes must count as such a blessing for Pants, I should imagine. What nortyness you both could cause if you went off a'Tapas-sing together. shock

GrandMattie sounds like your Dad would have quickly sorted those ^&@@%! Cathars at the tip grin Susan do hope that your Clinic appointment (and your understandable anxiety) is quickly resolved now. You too Sar. Hope that your eye improves, Gelisa - and the rain stops and that Scentia's pooch improves.

Spice a warm welcome to you. So sad to hear of your confinement We're all living on the edge these days, aren't we? Keep smiling...remember what Scentia says about laughter. I have needed endless bottles of that medicine at some times in life. But it actually DOES work!

Marydoll we are all empathising....as GrannyGravy says, all flat pack is evil! So true. Your landing conversation could take place on any landing in homes across the UK, I'm sure. Gingster's plans didn't work out much better : roasting the full Sunday lunch without an oven - that takes some steady nerves! grin. Keep on being so entertaining and we dearly wish you'll get some proper changes soon from those infernal injections. Maybe questions actually do need to be asked now?

It's chair cover laundering today and, if energy doesn't die away completely, linen curtains. Then again..........

Have the best Monday you can everyone. Pin on a grin and maybe people won't spot that you're actually baring your teeth!

To all missing posters and those with struggles or pain - you're in my thoughts.

Hugs from France and flowers and sunshine for all. x

Happy anniversary to you both Urmstons and welcome to Spice101. I'm fairly new to this thread and it is full of lovely people.

GrannySomerset Mon 07-Sept-20 09:59:29

Relieved to hear news of Gillybob who has more to contend with than any woman should face. Hope Marydoll has a recuperating day despite everything. We gave up flat pack furniture decades ago after it took four of us, combined IQ of about 600, three hours to assemble a simple desk with a drawer. Proof that brains are of limited use if not blessed with spatial awareness too. Our son in law has done the Ikea jobs in the past twenty years.

Three loads of washing blowing outside and a W.I. garden meeting this afternoon. Have the best day you can, everyone.

Grandmafrench Mon 07-Sept-20 10:00:31

Sorry, Beauregard - forgot to say that I shall now be all on thorns waiting for you to say that hay-making is complete and that "All is Safely Gathered In", without any more threats of rain. Good luck with that.
Grandmabatty trust that you are including yourself in that description, Madam! And please don't get your little chap's cold germs.

EllanVannin Mon 07-Sept-20 10:01:58

Love the Dinner Ladies, Grandmafrench. I must look for that episode with Thora Hird. I love a good laugh !

Marydoll thankyou for putting our minds at rest about Gillybob. I was obviously still writing my Sermon when you did your post script.

Good morning from a wet miserable w/Yorks not much to do today . ?To all having anniversaries, birthdays ,etc ?

Pantglas2 Mon 07-Sept-20 10:07:04

I’m back to wish the Urmstongrans a lovely anniversary- methinks she’ll save the ??for another time unless her powers of recovery are better than mine!

It always makes me smile when we go down to the coast around Benalmadena that I could be strolling past Urmstongran or sat at the next table and we’d never know!

Same in Wales where I know Susan56 often visits Llandudno, which is near me, and I’ve been to her neck of the woods in Shropshire as well!

Beechnut Mon 07-Sept-20 10:13:23

Pantglas, one day you’ll have to stand and shout Urmstongran and see who turns round ?

brook2704 Mon 07-Sept-20 10:22:11

Congratulations on your wedding Anniversary urms hope you both have a lovely day together !???
And thanks marydoll for the update on gilly - hope all is well

Jaxjacky Mon 07-Sept-20 10:33:21

Thank you Marydoll for that.

Beauregard Mon 07-Sept-20 10:46:02

Thanks Grandmafrench for your good luck wishes on my hay-making this week. I think i'm going to need it!

Susan56 Mon 07-Sept-20 10:49:28

Marydoll thank you for letting us know you have heard from gilly.

Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs Urms???

Kalu Mon 07-Sept-20 10:59:09

Good morning from a quite bright breezy Glasgow and here I am at the coo’s tail again. I had need of a stronger pain killer last night, the ones which make me more wonky than usual? another espresso is needed to clear the fog.

A warm welcome to you Spice. I look forward to your news from Melbourne. I have a DD in Brisbane so mostly follow what is going on there. Stay safe.

I sat down to read my book yesterday and the inevitable happened, feeling sleepy and trying to read with one eye closed until I felt DH remove my book. Same one eyed reading again at bedtime and I awoke this morning with book on one side and cat on the other.

Look after yourself gilly Kind thoughts are with you?
Happy Anniversary Urmston ?

Today I will have a look at the ironing pile, I noticed yesterday it was still there so I will attempt to at least knock the peak off the mountain and give myself a pat on the back for a job well done. ?

When DH ever attempts flat pack construction we call it BIY (break it yourself). Missing instructions and screws missing followed by the inevitable blue air has me turning up the volume elsewhere away from it all. Thankfully, no little ears around now to hear Daddy say a naughty word!

Plaster at the ready and take it slowly to ensure you hit the spot Marydoll. Sorry this is yet another injection day for you causing you to feel so out of sorts. Take it easy today and whatever needs done will be done when you feel up to it. ?

I won’t sully our lovely thread but I too wondered where the moderators were during last night’s nasty and quite bizarre thread ?

Best wishes for a pleasant day all, especially to those having difficult times at the moment.

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 07-Sept-20 11:04:50

Good Morning all from a dreich Harrogate. Well, what a weekend we have had!! On Friday DD1 had organised a walk on the outside of Scarborough which incorporated a walk round the farm my DH was brought up. First we picked up SIl who lives nearby. The current farmer gave us a guided tour. After that we headed off to the chippie. This was DD1, GD, DD2 SIL, DH, yours truly and the dog (who behaved amazingly.) Then all back to Harrogate. Next day DD1 had organised a little birthday party for DH's 80th, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Sunday we took SIL back to Scarborough. On the way back stopped for a cuppa in Helmsley, then had a little walk round, such a pretty little town. Today it's back to al' claes and purridge!! Translation, back to normal!!
Hope all are well and keeping safe!

Lins1066 Mon 07-Sept-20 11:05:18

A very Happy Anniversary Urmston ???

Alegrias Mon 07-Sept-20 11:08:49

Wet and windy in Fife today. I'm going to try baking some cupcakes this afternoon, I'm not the world's best baker so cross your fingers for me.
And this evening my Zoom dance classes start! I love my real life classes and the people I meet there but that's off the agenda for now, so this is the next best thing.
I'm off to St Andrews tomorrow taichinan, where Mr Alegrias is a tour guide.
Have a lovely day, all.

Gelisajams Mon 07-Sept-20 11:14:53

Thanks for letting us know about Gilly, Marydoll,I think we are all quite concerned but reluctant to bombard her with pm?

Annapops Mon 07-Sept-20 11:55:21

A very late good morning all from County Durham.

Beef stew in the slow cooker, dance online completed and little GD 2 happily playing for now. A mixture of armies, princesses and rockets!

Winter pansies to pot later today if the drizzle stops.

Have the best day you can folks!

Auntieflo Mon 07-Sept-20 14:09:33

Popped back to find good news that Gillybob is OK and taking a break.
Also forgot to wish Happy Anniversary to the Urmstongrans
