Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking a dry and clear start to the day here in Brackley this morning .
For myself, today will consist of a small shop ,and then prepare myself to watch the unfolding drama of the Tour De France.
As each stage is more or less live , the stages dictate the outcome of the overall of the race.
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning All. It's blue skies and breeze in Polmont but was very wet overnight. Like many of you, I'm up in the night. I don't sleep well anyway so the radio is on frequently. I'm off to the shops or rather a bookshop this morning to get a couple of birthday gifts. Then I'll visit mum. A couple of cross stitch kits arrived yesterday and I'm looking forward to getting going on them. Good news about your dh Sar

Good morning Mick and the GM team from a bright, east London.

I see quite a few of ‘the GM team’ have their cleaners back. I was shielding until 31st August and am not quite ready to have a cleaner in yet ...
Chicken for supper tonight, so easy cooking.

Sar so pleased at your DH’s results (it’s 6 years for me and we cherish every milestone). Georgesgran, I do hope your DH has a comfortable day and that you enjoy coffee with your friend.
Mellow I hope your conversation with the doc is helpful with your pain management.?
Thinking of Bluesapphire, Dragonfly and Gilly, good wishes to those who are facing challenges. Have a good day all. ?

Good morning from N Bucks where it looks as if it is going to be a lovely day!
My good news is that I got a message from a friend last night that the travellers have moved on.
Apparently the bailiffs arrived and they are on their way to Wellingborough.
Only 24 hours in the village, car doors tried all along one street, one shed broken into and a generator stolen, abuse shouted at a woman walking her dog near the school, somebody walking straight into a garden and eyeing up a motorbike, “missiles” thrown at passing cars and a tv dumped in the children’s playground beside where they were camped. Initially I was ashamed of my reaction when I heard they had moved in and I wondered if I was prejudiced but this sort of behaviour is just why communities dread them.
So, that is hopefully that for now and I can walk Hattie again without looking over my shoulder!
Weeding needed in the garden today while the weather is still fine.
I hope those I have not seen for a bit are not in any personal or health difficulties and wish us all a pleasant day.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning all from a sunny looking Essex. DH has had an early start on the golf course, so I’m watching the news about more restrictions on social gatherings. Oh dear , only 6 people allowed to meet up, indoors and outdoors. More cancelled occasions to come!

Poor DD’s washing machine has broken down and with 4 children (including twin boys 14 yrs) , it’s essential. . Fortunately she doesn’t live far from me, so my washing machine is doing overtime. Expensive for her to have it fixed or worst case sensario , a new one.

Good news for your DH Sar and of course for you.

I can just see your little GS Scentia climbing the hills with his little walking stick. How sweet!

I have an eye test this afternoon. They told me it was a 2 hour appointment ?. By the time I’ve waited outside and they have deep cleaned the rooms, chosen new glasses etc. What a palaver!

Hope alls well with Gilly And Marydoll. And all others with troubles.

?

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a warm and sunny South Yorkshire. Sneezing non stop again this morning.Hairdressers for me today, and then a SD cup of tea with my eldest niece in her garden. I haven’t seen her since lockdown, when her new dog was a small pup. She is now apparently trying to turn the garden into a pitch and putt! Have a good safe day folks.

Good morning all from a beautiful sunny County Durham.

After 2 days of GC duties I will make the most of today. Windows open, with fresh air flowing through the house after two very dull and drizzly unsettled days.

It's sad to hear Covid infection rates are rising so rapidly. My DD2 teacher informed me of the number of schools and nurseries being affected at the moment in areas not too far from us. So very worrying.

Cleaning and gardening on the agenda today. I have plenty of little fingermarks around the house to keep me busy.

Have the best day you can everyone. X

Morning all from a currently rainy Derbyshire. Not good news for my hay crop which is currently laying in the field soaking it all up. I'm hoping that will be the last of it and we can get it dried, baled and under cover, and hopefully not too spoilt.

We enjoyed our walk yesterday. Four miles plus the inevitable extra half mile because we always seem to take a wrong turning and have to retrace our steps! A short one for us, but I was feeling my back a bit and decided that was far enough.

Easier day today. Horse racing is on this afternoon so we'll be watching that. Just about to do my ITV 7.

Glad to hear your good news Sar. Hope everyone has a good day today.

EllanVannin Wed 09-Sept-20 09:28:04

Good Morning All x.
Bright sunshine few clouds scudding quickly away so the making of a decent day again. Lovely and warm yesterday, suits me down to the ground.
Certainly excelled yesterday after doing all the washing that there was to do and all dried by teatime.

I'm looking at the ironing ! Just looking, mind. grin It won't go anywhere.
Also had a good hoovering session too so might dust/polish where the dust has landed----might. What it is to be idle. smile

Prospective new neighbour appeared for a short while yesterday carrying bags of stuff again though no sign of a furniture van yet. I'm sure she'll be happy here even though we all keep to ourselves pretty well. I'm nosy too ! smile

Always good to hear about great test results Sar53, very pleasing all round as well as the relief it brings too.

I hope Maw had a better night, nothing worse than the feeling of fear. Let's hope " they " take their hooks and go sooner rather than later----pests.
Marydoll as well, hope that it's a better day for you too.

Anyone else who's suffering in silence hope things improve. Thoughts to all and Gilly I'm sure the break will be beneficial until you feel up to it again.x We all understand. flowers

Enjoy the day everyone and remain extra safe. xx

Good morning from a grey north of Scotland but the sun is trying to peep through. sar53 such good news for you both. I should be preparing for a zoom meeting tomorrow but prefer reading the GM thread. Mick I’ll be watch the TdF too between flicking over to the US open. I have the painter working outside and don’t like the radio station he is listening/subjecting me to. Thinking about asking him to change it to radio as I drop off his coffee and biscuit. I quarantine his (old) mug in a box and will wash them all at the weekend. Am I losing my marbles?
gillybob I realise you must be having an extra tough time. Haste ye back.
Have the best day you can everyone.

EllanVannin Wed 09-Sept-20 09:33:45

Hooray, Maw----good riddance.

grandMattie Wed 09-Sept-20 09:35:52

Nearly did, Urms - found out. (Blooming predictive text, I meant “very”!)

Good morning all. A lovely September morning here in Angus, with the sun playing peepbo between the clouds. Wonderful news about your DH Sar. I had a lovely day yesterday, seeing family after getting my hair cut Only one great-great was there as the others were at school/nursery. A gorgeous little boy with a mop of blonde curls. Anyway we a had a good catch-up as you can imagine - I love that Then it was off to the big city for a visit to M&S food store for my favourites. A fill-up of petrol, then off home. Just a lovely day Today is a lazy day with just a few phone calls to make.
Since lockdown I have learned to love being busy doing nothing! Maw I'm so glad the travellers have moved on and you can sleep without worrying again. Sending thoughts and sympathy to all of you with pain and worries. Have as good a day as you can everybody. ???

grandMattie Wed 09-Sept-20 09:43:40

Yippee, Sars. Such a relief. How brilliant, Maw. As you say, one feels prejudiced until one witnesses or is victim to such bad behaviour.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 09-Sept-20 10:13:50

Sar53 good news regarding your husband’s results.

CherryCezzy Wed 09-Sept-20 10:27:03

Good morning everyone from the Gower where the weather isn't going to win any awards unless it's a booby prize.

Very welcome good news for your DH and you Sar ?

Have any of you ever done something so embarrassing that you have actually put your hand over your mouth? Well I did yesterday ?. Me and my WP ventured out with plans to visit two supermarkets, a visit to one to get bread because the other doesn't do nice bread and the other because the former doesn't have such good veg'. When I walked into the first supermarket I knew something was odd... the floor seemed a bit spongy. I looked down to see what was wrong. I still had my slipper boots on! ? I was mortified. All I could think of was please don't let anyone notice. I sent my WP to get the bread and headed straight to the clothes and shoes, anything, except another pair of slippers, had to be better than I had on. There was no way we could go to the other supermarket and it was preferable to buy something rather than turn round, go home and head out again. As it happens... I saw a lovely pair of brown leather brogue ankle boots and they fitted like a glove ?. Customer service was the next port of call to snip the cord that bound them together. We were on our way, yippee, and embarrassment abated... phew ?.

I hope there's no excitement like that today, or any day in fact.

I hope all of you, Marydoll included, who are struggling and suffering with ailments, illness or pain have some relief, no matter how small, today.

There seems to be an increasing number of missing goodmorningers. Sending each some ?.

Be kind to yourselves everyone ❤️

Good morning from an alternate sunny/cloudy skies in Glasgow. A warm breezy day yesterday was perfect to hang a washing out, or so I thought. 10 mins. After all was on the line, a drizzle started?. Everything back in and hung on the pulley.

It’s all very quiet again in our area. My waitrose visit was reassuring as people are still following the guidelines. My thoughts at one point, as I looked at others walking around in masks was, when will we ever get out and about without being cautious of each other ? It is what it is and the thought passed quickly as I bumped into a friend who jokingly quipped, these masks are a godsend, no one can see me without my make up. ?

What a relief Maw. Sadly the reputation of travellers is what you witnessed in 24hrs. I am pleased to hear they have moved on.
Nice to see you visit our GM thread baubles, hope all is well with you.
What fabulous news Sar. Such a relief for you and your DH especially.
Well done with the typex ?. There’s always a solution. ?

Best wishes for a pleasant day all especially gilly and our friends who are missing at the moment.

Kalu Wed 09-Sept-20 11:00:50

It’s not that I forgot your name Marydoll.....I forgot to type it in. ?

Mapleleaf Wed 09-Sept-20 11:00:54

Good morning all,

It's a bright, sunny but breezy day today which is taking the edge off the temperature.

Such good news about your DH Sar ?. You must both be very relieved.

Maw you must too, must be very relieved to see the back of your unwelcome visitors. Why they have to leave such a mess behind and feel it's within their rights to break in and steal is beyond me.

Going out for lunch today for a birthday treat. Looking forward to it - don't know where, it's a surprise ?.

Hope you all have a safe day, and thinking of our absent GM's ?.

CherryCezzy Wed 09-Sept-20 11:06:43

Does that mean it's your birthday Maple leaf? If so Happy Birthday to you ? ?

Kalu Wed 09-Sept-20 11:21:21

Well Cherry, that’s the best excuse ever to buy some new footwear. ?. I love the sound of the new boots ? ?

I think it may be your birthday too Mapleleaf. Happy Birthday?? and enjoy your surprise lunch.

Mapleleaf Wed 09-Sept-20 12:24:04

Thank you. Yes it's mine. ?

Auntieflo Wed 09-Sept-20 13:49:22

Good afternoon Mick, Annie, and all, very belatedly.

I had a very quick look in much earlier, then decided that I would garden for an hour, which turned into much more.
I got my clematis planted, but of course it isn't as straight forward as that. Could have done with help from Gelisajam
Anyway, all done and tidied up, showered, and DH has been on tea and sandwich duty. I had prepared a Tea Loaf before I went in the garden, so that has now just come out of the oven, and smells good. All previous cake having been eaten.

Glad to hear that Maw's travellers have gone, but they do leave such a mess behind.
Marydoll, hope you are feeling a few more steps up from 'rubbish'. At least you now have a nice new radiator cover!
Great news re your DH Sar

I am now going to put my feet up and probably examine the back of my eyelids ?

Have a good day one and all.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 09-Sept-20 14:11:35

Happy Birthday Mapleleaf ??
