I’ve never got it right in the handbag department and now I have arthritis apparently in neck and shoulder area I think I’ll have to go backpack. Do you have a wardrobe full of handbags?

Cross body bags are my preferred style, but I do have a backpack for when I’m out walking. All my bags are by Mia Tui as they have very useful pockets and a pouch for a bottle inside, which I need.

I was going to suggest Healthy Back Bags but I see suzie has beaten me to it. I’ve used them for years and they really make a difference.

Oh dear suziewoozie I fear a purchase might be compulsory after looking at that website ????

Thanks Suzie it's lovely! Now the problem is deciding colour and size. Where's my credit card? smile

Lucca the bag you posted a picture of is a timeless, elegant classic, probably collectable and worth a bit too.

I got the bigger one in red leather - it’s so cheerful in the winter. I’ll post a photo of my summer baglett - it’s very pretty

BlueSky Sat 19-Sept-20 17:07:33

Wow Suzie I too had a look and I like them! That'll be my next bag, sorry I'm a copy cat!

I have three shelves of handbags mostly Radley as I like the design and the quality so sad I’ve not used them Much this year as hardly been out but my husband says I have one for every season well probably more! Bit of a obsession really!

Lucca really pleased I could help. I was so grateful to my friend who introduced me to them.

I changed to these www.thehealthybackbag.co.uk/ a few years ago and threw away all my other bags. I have the large baglett ( holds iPhone, spectacles, small purse) and the medium size ( holds iPad etc ) . I have the sizes in leather for winter and fabric for summer. The quality is excellent and you can wear them in various ways

Thanks ! I’ve just had a look and will order !

I like back packs but never use one as surely they are easily opened by someone standing behind you with evil intent? Leather is lovely but too heavy for me. I have lots of bags, none of them expensive, all of them shoulder bags and some from charity shops, but my current favourite is a Mantaray one from Debenhams. It is made of peach coloured fabric with a flower pattern and is just the right size, ie not too big and not too small. I love that feeling when you buy a new bag and transfer all your stuff from the old one to the new one. I had a clear out during lockdown and got rid of quite a few to the charity shop. I have to be minimalist beause DH is definitely maximalist - never chucks out a thing.

It can take a while to find the perfect bag, can't it? Mine is a mushroom colour and holds quite a lot. I'd never buy a designer label. Mine was just shy of £25 at TK Maxx.

I've got a few different bags a Louis Vuitton handbag obvs a looky likey one, a few cross body bags and my current favourite canvas bag which only cost £6.

"Hmmm. Can you get pretty/stylish bumBags? Or Fannypacks as I believe they’re called in the USA"
Yes I believe 'Fanny' over there is the bum! I remember a fitness programme where the instructor shouts"Fanny tight repeat!" grin

No rucksacks ( except a proper one for walking to carry food etc)
Many handbags of all colours, many shoulder bags and about three cross body bags ( smallish)
Plus two glam clutch bags, very rarely used now.
I change bags almost daily.
Have always avoided small rucksacks as I think they are very easy to steal from.

I can’t carry handbags as I can’t use my left hand. I have about half a dozen small cross body bags in various colours to match outfits on social occasions. They hold keys, wallet etc. Without being too bulky. Ordinary rucksacks are too heavy for me. I found a smallish backpack on Amazon that isn’t too much strain on my weak left shoulder. The fastening is on the side that’s against my body, for security.

Not a huge collector of bags. I normally have one canvas or straw for summer, and tan leather for winter. I use them until they get shabby, then replace. I have a practical backpack but use it for longer walks with groceries or books.

I'm just about to make the change from straw to leather, but finding the leather bag so heavy! This is the summer one from Banana Republic. Still in good shape for next year.

Nice buy Missfoodlove charity shops are great for bags.

biba70 Sat 19-Sept-20 12:34:38

I have a few nice bags for fancy occasions- but due to a shortened and damaged leg- I have used backpacks all my life to help with balancing the body.

My brother is at the moment giving away his wife's bags and shoes (she passed away 6 months ago) - 32 bags and 98 pairs of shoes.

Georgesgran Sat 19-Sept-20 12:34:36

Lucca ?not the ‘F’ word again!

Georgesgran Sat 19-Sept-20 12:30:19

Got to say I like a nice bag and have a few (lots really). Used to be a shoe girl, but not now. In cooler months I tend to dress in one colour from neck down, but add a pop of colour with a pashmina and matching coloured bag.

Cross body though for holidays or if I’m helping DD2s wheelchair otherwise she ends up with both her and my bag on her knee!
