We have had a thread like this before, I think, but I'll never be able to find the previous one, so let's have another.

There was "I've finished washing the shopping", which came into our lives earlier this year. This week I've had another one - "I've got an appointment at the library to take my books back." Any more?

Isolate. The last time I heard that expression was in 1945 when I had scarlet fever.

If you had a cold or a bout of 'flu, you were " keeping away " from family/friends.

I like the telephone triage system at my GP surgery. Sometimes I only need to talk to a doctor rather than visit and this suits me because I no longer feel guilty about wasting GP time. Now the GP can decide whether or not to see me or simply send a prescription. If I take up less time it leaves the GP more time to deal with those who actually need to see him/her in person.

I never ever thought I would have to tell my lovely adult daughters that they can’t come in to their family home. Not that they would have expected to when the rules said they couldn’t. sad

Yawning at the word 'unprecedented'.
Having physio appointments by telephone and posted diagrams,
Sharing the bus (when I absolutely have to use it ) with only 3 others.

"Love I've managed to get a Tesco delivery slot" with all the excitement of some one who has just won the lottery!
"I can't believe that this year we would have been able to go in several holidays and this pandemic comes" because of illnesses and deaths we haven't been able to have a holiday in years and for once the way was open for us to do as we pleased, grhh.

I never ever thought I'd say "I'm voting SNP at the next UK election."

‘Virtual hugs’ when leaving a friend’s garden after being served cake and fizz ...

No my DS won't let me look after my DGS as he has just started at nursery and might be infectious.

Rumpunch Sun 20-Sept-20 10:25:09

" I'm not booking any holidays abroad for next year yet"

" I've scanned the track and trace QR code - can I order my drink now?"

kittylester Sun 20-Sept-20 10:20:32

Please will you let me come to your salon - my own hairdresser has really poor cross infection control!

Mollygo Sun 20-Sept-20 10:15:12

Shall we go for another walk since it’s allowed now?

Florida12 Sun 20-Sept-20 10:14:59

You won’t catch me going on a plane this year, next year, let’s see if it all dies down in 2022.

Missiseff Sun 20-Sept-20 10:12:46

I want to go to work

Puzzler61 Sun 20-Sept-20 10:12:44

Asking a hairdresser what Covid safety precautions she is taking before making an appointment.

Matelda Sun 20-Sept-20 10:12:31

At last! I must seize this great opportunity to read the Barchester Chronicles! (And I did.)

Horatia Sun 20-Sept-20 10:12:16

I don't like handling cash I'd rather use my card.

maryrose54 Sun 20-Sept-20 10:12:03

Said by 4 year old DGD when we met up," I think you're getting a bit too close granny".

BusterTank Sun 20-Sept-20 10:06:40

I never thought I would say I would be quite happy never to go to the shops again . If it's not delivered to my door I don't want it .

Traceyac Sun 20-Sept-20 10:01:15

Marydoll Sun 20-Sept-20 09:56:53

Being told: You can't come to the hospital for treatment, it's too risky for you, we don't know when we can start it safely. sad

By the way, I did start it eventually , after asking if I could inject at home after being shown how to do it. smile.

Parsley3 Sun 20-Sept-20 09:56:10

I will need to buy more elastic as I am making face masks.

Alioop Sun 20-Sept-20 09:54:50

Screaming "don't touch me" when a friend forgets and goes to hug you.

Davida1968 Sun 20-Sept-20 09:50:40

Shouting "big hugs!" when meeting friends, & we all keep (at least) two metres apart.....

Americanpie Sun 20-Sept-20 09:48:53

I'm not supposed to pat your dog. It might have Covid19 on its fur.
PS I did anyway, the lead was over 2 metres and I thought what the hell!
