I have recently heard a piece of music that has bought tears to my eyes. It was at a funeral for my friends husband so was an emotional day, but this piece of music has really struck a cord. I hope you get a chance to listen to Donna Taggart a song called Jealous of the angels. I love all music but this one strikes at the heart. sorry cant post the link I'm not that clever.

That is lovely.

And, in a similar vein, this by Mindy Smith was written when her mother was dying. A very similar voice.

Lovely songs but I'm having a Rolling Stones song at my funeral. Not sure which one yet but something loud.

BlueSky Thu 01-Oct-20 18:08:42

Well done NotTooOld! I’m thinking of ‘Paint it black’ myself!

As much as I like the Stones I think I’ll go for ‘Summertime .... and the living is easy...’ most beautiful!

Honky Tonk for me! Also “Losing my religion” by REM. I danced to this song, with my son when REM played at Glastonbury- a happy memory.

DH wanted Who wants to live forever.

However when he was very poorly I found it extremely upsetting and told him I couldn’t do that. He understood and said ok.

harrigran Fri 02-Oct-20 08:51:59

I have chosen Queen for my funeral, Tie your mother down and Another one bites the dust.

BlueSky Fri 02-Oct-20 09:30:39

Beautiful but sad, perhaps better something positive like the classic ‘My Way’ or cheerful like ‘Wish Me Luck’?
