Good Morning Everyone ,
Its a dark, wet and windy start this morning with Storm Alex lurking about here in Brackley .
Today, my usual trip to Buckingham and Bicester , plans are to head back home, once I had a coffee and maybe a pork and stuffing bap , then a small shop ,and get bus back, then relax before I watch the Giro on Eurosport .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning from a dark and rainy NE.
Another day of reading and TV watching but I am well used to it since I have been nowhere since February.
Expecting a parcel this morning, something I ordered for my sister's birthday, I used to buy her smart going out clothes, this year she has asked for comfy trousers smile

Oh what a night, as the song goes- but not like that!
Woken 4ish by the wind and the rain hammering the house and that was it for the next couple of hours- I just wanted to put my head under the duvet but I was still awake at 6 just hearing the rain lashing against the windows and fretting and beset by all the worst worries my stupid brain could muster.
So glad I made the decision not to drive down to London to see D and Flynn and Otis, I hate the M25 at the best of times but in this weather it would be a nightmare.
Oh I forgot to say Good morning!
Indian Summer? More like Monsoon!
Keep safe wherever you are. ☔️☔️☔️☔️?‍♀️????‍♂️ ?‍♂️?‍♀️??‍♂️

Good morning Mick, Annie and all, from a very wet and dull bit of Berks.
One of our GD's is getting married today, so Bellasnana, we could do with some of your sunshine please.
As we are not able to be there in person, we shall don our glad rags and raise a toast to them, from the comfort of our sofa.
I believe some sort of link up is planned, so fingers well and truly crossed that it all works .
Happy birthday Beauregard
Wishing Urmstongran's family, well and all the others who are unwell at the moment.
Especially remembering Gillybob and sending love and hugs to her and her family.
Have as good a day as you can one and all.

Nortsat Sat 03-Oct-20 08:26:06

Good morning Mick and the GM team from wet, grey east London.
Happy birthday beauregard, have a lovely dinner this evening and hoping your DH is well enough to enjoy it with you. ?

Thinking of all with worries and/or illness, especially Sark Urmstongran, grandMattie, dragonfly, Jan16, Scentia and of course gilly.

On line shop and housework today, then film night tonight. It’s a ‘wine night’ too ... yay ... ?

grannysyb Sat 03-Oct-20 08:30:18

Dark and tipping down here. I'm on my way to the V and A to see the Kimono exhibition. Hope all goes well for your family Urmstongran and that everyone has as good a day as possible.

Good morning all. And the rain still falls.

Thoughts go to Scentia, Urstongran, Jan and everyone else with worries and health issues.?

Happy birthday Beauregard . Have a lovely meal this evening. ?.

Had our pneumonia and flu jabs yesterday. In and out in 10 mins. Best visit ever.

Reading papers and pottering today. Hopefully take little pooch for a walk. We couldn’t get out at all yesterday because of the rain. ?

Best wishes to all ???

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Wet here now too.
We had our ceiling (what's left of it) examined for rot. It is wet rot rather than dry which is better news.

The covid virus is still a big threat and we should not be travelling unecessarily.
I feel very sorry for the students who are far from home and feel like prisoners in small rooms.
Sorry to hear about Urmston's family and hope they get better soon.
I love that you are in DGD's pocket Bellasnana
I am so glad we can talk to all of ours on video.
Happy Birthday Beauregard enjoy your special day.

Urmstongran Sat 03-Oct-20 08:44:19

Good morning everyone from Malaga where we do have sunshine although the palm trees are dancing right now! ?

I slept well again last night (no wine does make a great difference there). It was a shock to hear that our youngest daughter and her husband have tested positive for Covid. Brings it home to you how easy it is to catch it as they honestly have been super sensible and careful. No socialising at all with others, no holiday this year, nada.

I haven’t heard from them yet this morning which I’m thinking must be good news? We have a system when I’m in Spain. She gives me one bell from her phone and I then ring her back on their landline. It works well as that way I’m never interrupting meal times, bath time etc. Then we chat away for ages. We speak every day with the occasional FaceTime thrown in at weekends. That said, the grandchildren chat better on the phone than FT. They seem to tell me more somehow.

You made me smile with your comment about the screen going pink and being told you were in your granddaughter’s pocket Bellasnana. That was too cute!

I’m using Himself’s iPad. Mine has a black screen this morning. The battery is kaput. It will limit my addiction to GN I suppose!

Hope Saturday is kind to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Morning from dark and dull S Lanarkshire. House tidying plan today, just came on to wish Urmstongran’s family a speedy recovery. Very hard to be far away when children are ill, no matter how ‘grown up’ they are. Best wishes and hope you get better news soon.

MawB2 Sat 03-Oct-20 08:54:49

Scentia wishing you well, too ???and good everyone else with worries flowers

Jaxjacky Sat 03-Oct-20 08:55:28

Good morning Mick and all, later up today and then I had an ocular migraine, disconcerting, but minor compared with everyone else’s current concerns.
It’s hoofing it down here, we have no plans today other than watching Leeds v Man City, first half probably in our local. OH is a Leeds supporter, so ?
Beauregard enjoy your a Birthday ?. Those struggling, I hope the next 24 hours brings improvements.

Anniebach Sat 03-Oct-20 08:55:53

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Urmstongran Sat 03-Oct-20 09:03:05

Apologies, ‘all about me’.
Yes Scentia I do hope you and you’re family haven’t picked up Covid and that your grandson’s test is negative.
?

Seems a cough isn’t always an indicator. ‘Just’ feeling meh with a high temperature in our family’s cases.

Marydoll Sat 03-Oct-20 09:03:51

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow.

I'm late to the party today, I had a very disturbed night, my pain levels have shot up again and I still feel awful after my flu jag, so I'm going to indulge myself today, eat chocolate and do nothing!!?

Happy birthday, Beauregard, have a lovely day!??
Auntieflo, I hope you are sitting watching with your wedding hat on! ? If the wedding is anything like my daughter's garden wedding, she will have a fabulous day! ??

So many with worries here today, prayers and virtual hugs for all. ? Life is so difficult and sad for many just now.
Remember, the carers have to look after yourselves, too.

Have the best day you can!

Grandmabatty Sat 03-Oct-20 09:05:12

Good morning All. Happy birthday Beauregard Have a lovely day and enjoy your meal. Scentia I hope things go well with the wee one and all your family. It is such a worrying time. Your poor sofa! My last dog was the king of chewers when anxious and I lost an entire sofa as he'd got into the living room when I was out. Carnage! It's wet and gloomy in Polmont this morning and I don't think it has to improve any. I should do a food shop but can hang off til tomorrow. I'll see how I feel. Later dd, dgs and I are meeting up with my aunt and uncle at a restaurant for coffee. We can't go into each others houses, so outside it has to be. I'll get the bed changed, the bathroom cleaned and the dusting done at some point too. Have a good day all.

Pantglas2 Sat 03-Oct-20 09:05:19

Morning all from a dry and blustery north Wales where I’m lolling abed with the second chamberpot ☕️ after too much ? last night....that’ll learn me ?

Sorry to read about the lurgy coming to our lovely Grans families, Scentia and Urms- ?all recoveries are speedy.

Birthday ? to Beauregard and hope you enjoy your meal out this evening, whoever you’re with!

I’m popping to see my dad this evening- first time since Father’s Day and he’s been out picking blackberries for me, to go with the apples from his tree! What a ⭐️!

Stay safe everyone x

Grandmabatty Sat 03-Oct-20 09:06:17

Marydoll ? I'm sorry you are in pain.

GrannyOwl5 Sat 03-Oct-20 09:08:29

Good morning everyone from a wet and grey north Kent. I am waiting to hear whether the football matches my grandsons are playing in are going ahead. I would be devastated if they are cancelled and I miss out on standing on a muddy field cheering them on in the rain!

Hope those with family worries and illnesses soon see improvements. Stay safe everyone

cornergran Sat 03-Oct-20 09:15:00

Morning Mick, morning All. Wet and windy in our corner of Somerset. Sorry you’ve had a bed night maw, we’ve discovered one advantage to bungalow living is we hear the wind and rain less.

Mr C has a strapped up hand, instructions not to use it for two weeks. Now it doesn’t hurt is that likely? hmm. Quiet day for us today, just faffing.

Hope Urmston and Scentia get positive family news soon, a hug for you both and anyone else with worries. A very happy birthday beauregard, enjoy your special day. Hope those stairs are comfy kitty smile.

Your relationship with your granddaughter is to be treasured bellasnana, she sounds wonderful. Being in her pocket reminded me that our Littlest had a tendency to put us under the sofa - apparently so we could look for lost toys grin. He’s not a fan of FaceTime now, maybe there will be a return in the winter. Stay safe everyone, look after yourselves, special thoughts for those with heavy hearts.

cornergran Sat 03-Oct-20 09:16:39

Missed your post marydoll, not speedy with the keyboard this morning. Hope you’re much more comfortable soon, pain is no fun flowers.

Pittcity Sat 03-Oct-20 09:17:21

Good morning from a dark and wet Colchester. Think the light will be on all day. Will be pootling indoors this weekend.

Happy Birthday Beauregard and ((hugs)) to all.

CherryCezzy Sat 03-Oct-20 09:24:17

Good morning everyone from the Gower. It's dry here... at the moment... but foreboding ?

Being that it is Saturday I think I'm going to spend the day in indulging in my non artistic artwork and chinwagging on the phone ?

kitty ! ?

? the fact that you are in your DGD's pink pocket Bellasnana ?

Scentia children pick up all manner of bugs and colds from others and bounce back quickly, it could easily be a minor germ that your DGS has, ? it's not the virus.

Urmstongran, wishes to your family for a speedy recovery ?

? Happy Birthday Beauregard. I hope you have a lovely day and your DH will be with you to enjoy your meal out. Enjoy your prosecco, it's always nice to have something free ?? ? ?

Stay safe everyone and be kind to yourselves ❤️

MellowYellow Sat 03-Oct-20 09:25:08

Morning to all you lovely people from a blustery (of course) south Cornwall. Happy birthday Beauregard. Have a lovely meal this evening. So many troubles for people at the moment. Sending my best to all of you struggling. As for me... flu jab at 11.12 (yep, that's not a typo!), then 4-year-old granddaughter for the rest of the day, a joy. Jaxjacky I get ocular migraines, ugh. Well, I'd better get on the move. Wish I could hug some of you who sound like you need it.

Bellasnana Sat 03-Oct-20 09:31:09

Just popping back to wish Beauregard a very happy birthday.????

Missed your message yesterday, Urmston, you must be concerned but I hope all will be well.

cornergran, when DGD was a toddler I also saw the underneath of the sofa, inside the kitchen cupboard, and was often propped up in her doll’s high chair so I could watch a movie with her!

I think the funniest was when she took me into her little tent then went off somewhere and forgot about me. I heard her mum saying ‘What have you done with Nana?’ I called out, ‘I’m in here!’ and we really had a good laugh.?

Thank goodness for technology!
