Good morning from darkish, dry E Kent.
Seem to have woken up later than expected. Another one of those nights where I nap through most of it and then have a good hour or so at the end.
Zoom meeting with 5 of DH’s school friends. We were due to meet in Edinburgh today for a few days but... Had it not happened I would have gone to the W.I. college for a course. Naturally, Denman has closed forever and CV19 has seen to the end of everything.
Housework, etc today. Did my Spanish homework on Friday.
Need to make an appointment to have my eyes tested.
Hope the ones with wobbles, sorrow and pain have an ok day. Stay safe.

Good Morning Mick and all who follow. A very dark morning here on Severnside.

Bed changing, washing and soup making for me today. My brother will probably come by on his way home from work. He’s a lovely man and I like spending time with him. Ooh that’s made my eyes leak.

Lots of worries around at the moment so take care and stay safe all ?

Scentia Mon 05-Oct-20 06:53:41

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. Dark and cold this morning, I will go out to take the dog out in a while so hope it’s not raining or too cold.
Work today, we are not overly busy at the factory so I will do some cleaning and repair jobs there today.
Now DGS and DD have gone home as the test was negative I know that this cold I have woken with is kindly shared by my little GS. We are always telling him to share nicely.
I remember, starting this time last year, DH and I were getting one cold after another, hope it won’t be like that this year. I have just eaten some of my home made Granola. It is so much better that what you buy, no sugar and so tasty.
I wonder if Gilly is ok, have you had a message at all Mary
I watched a film on Netflix yesterday called A Social Dilemma it was rather disturbing seeing how much the social media companies control what we do?
Well folks, must get on, take care of yourselves today.

Marydoll Mon 05-Oct-20 06:56:28

Good morning Mick and all who follow, from a foggy Glasgow.
I'm feeling pretty rotten after yet another disturbed night.
This flu jab has had such bad side effects, but not having it has even worse consequences. Everything seems to have flared up.☹️
# Feeling sorry for myself! ?

I don't have much to report, I didn't do much yesterday.
However, some of you will have read on another of the bargain my friend/ neighbour picked up for me at the early morning car boot sale.
I was still in bed, when she phoned me from her car, asking me to come outside in five minutes, as she had managed to get garden pots for me.
She had to park out of sight, as we have the nosiest neighbour in the world, who sits at the window, permanently glued to his seat.
I hadn't realised it was pouring and I went out in my pjs to help her. DH came out too to help. After sneaking them round the back, without my neighbour seeing them, ( nosy neighbour would want to know where we got them and the cost) , DH left me to chat. I came back to find DH had locked the door and was doing his Dolinguo with his head phones on.
No amount of banging the backdoor or ringing of the front door bell, was acknowledged! I was furious!!!? He hadn't even noticed I was missing! That's the part which annoyed me the most. # Neglected and unloved wife!?
I did indeed get a bargain. They were ex display, hence the reason they were so cheap. My son's fiancée said she needed her sunglasses to look at them. She is just jealous!!??

For all those struggling take care and for those who are worried about family and partners, ? Have the best day you can.

Beauregard Mon 05-Oct-20 06:59:11

Good morning from a dry, clear Derbyshire.

I'm a bit earlier today as I'm about to go away for a few days.

Mr B has decided not to go as he's still getting some pain when he moves around and is awaiting a call from his doctor today. He's not too bad but doesn't want to move far or be away from home at the moment and says he wouldn't enjoy it if he couldn't walk around as much as normal. He doesn't want me to miss out so we've agreed that I should still go.

Hope everyone is feeling well today and the day is a good one.

Marydoll Mon 05-Oct-20 06:59:17

Scentia, I haven't had a response from Gilly, and knowing things weren't so good, I'm very worried.☹️

Good morning all from a drippy North Leicestershire.

Not much rain forecast for today which is good as out gardener is coming for another morning to do the hedges. This is an achievement in my opinion as it means DH will not be wobbling around at the top of a ladder whilst in possession of a lethal weapon.

We had a lovely day with Dd2 and 2dgd yesterday. Very poignant though as we would usually have some of the others calling in too.

Sending love and good wishes to everyone.

cornergran Mon 05-Oct-20 07:10:55

Morning Mick, morning All from a soggy corner of Somerset. Wow, those pots will brighten your garden marydoll, please stay warm and dry today. One of ours made it with his daughters for a roast yesterday, a short but so welcome visit. The food vanished, well, other than the piece of broccoli I hid on his plate in the hope he wouldn’t notice grin. It’s sorting the car insurance day here today. Can’t wait hmm. Is it just me or does the process really get more tedious every year? Oh well, it will be done for another year. Look after yourselves everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 05-Oct-20 07:28:59

Good morning Mick and all

Another grey damp day with rain forecast for later.

Gym this morning then washing this afternoon.

Marydoll that’s worrying that you haven’t heard from gillybob.

Hope your family are on the mend Urmstongran

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Jaxjacky Mon 05-Oct-20 07:29:01

Good morning Mick and everyone from a slightly chilly, damp S Hants. A quiet day yesterday, didn’t do much. Bed stripped already for the wash, indoor drying, off to farm shop in a minute while it’s not busy.
Have a calm day all, especially those struggling.

brook2704 Mon 05-Oct-20 07:33:47

Good morning mick and all from a still very soggy Inverness. Yesterday it stopped raining in the afternoon but it was very grey and misty instead. We did go out for a walk though and really enjoyed it.
Today is my eldest DGS 7th birthday so we’re off out at teatime to a local restaurant to celebrate with him. I’m very much looking forward to it!
Those garden pots are lovely marydoll well done to your friend in finding them and I hope they brighten your day a bit.
Good news scentia that the tests were negative
I hope you still enjoy your break beauregard even though you’ll be on your own, good on you for still going
Hoping everyone with worries and struggles has a better day today, take care all whatever the day brings ?

Grammaretto Mon 05-Oct-20 07:41:18

Good morning Mick and all from the Scottish Borders where we have "persistent rain" according to the weather girl.
Marydoll flowers we love you even when DH is being neglectful.
I have to admit when I saw your photo, I thought it showed a range of containers ready to catch water. I'm sure they will look fab when planted up.
I must catch up with neglected emails and other messages.
I was glad to see my MP is also shocked that our banks are all closing though I doubt he can stop them. There were 4 banks and 2 post offices in our town when we came here 40 years ago. Now there will be one left plus the PO for the time being....
My DGD gave me her cold Scentia. Luckily it was a short lived one.
Happy Birthday to your 7yr old brook
Have a good week all of you and hugs for Gillybob we miss you.

NannyJan53 Mon 05-Oct-20 07:41:55

Good Morning from a much brighter Black Country after 3 days of continuous rain.

Hopefully get out for a walk today. My Monday Walking for Health group is still suspended, I really miss that.

I hope you have recovered from your soaking yesterday Marydoll. Very worrying about that you haven't heard from gilly.

Hoping your family are starting to feel better Urmston
NanKate I hope you had a lovely weekend with your DGD's and DS.

kitty I cannot remember the last time all my family were together. I think it must have been January for Mums 90th. So sad.

Wishing you all a good day, with special thoughts of gilly and anyone feeling down or struggling at this time flowers

Pantglas2 Mon 05-Oct-20 07:44:26

Morning all from a very wet north Wales where I’m enjoying the chamberpot ☕️ before I shift myself!

Miss Marydoll has made me me laugh out loud with her tale of lockout......as if lockdown wasn’t bad enough ?

I usually dread the car/home insurance hunt Cornergran but this year seemed effortless as the meerkat knew all my details and gave me a list to choose from!

Sad to read that Gillybob isn’t with us and I know a few more are on a break - hope they know they’re missed?

A trot to Llandudno this morning and DH flu jab in Conwy on the the way home where I shall treat him to an ‘oggie’ (pasty) from our favourite butcher for lunch!

dragonfly46 Mon 05-Oct-20 07:51:17

Good morning the sun is trying to shine here in Leicestershire.

We are minding a friends dog today. She is tiny so better not let her out alone.

Thinking of youGilly as always.

MawB2 Mon 05-Oct-20 07:55:26

Good morning all from N Bucks where the rain has at last stopped.
A quiet morning, then podiatrist and then my Art History course in the afternoon. We are looking at famous artists’ “Models and Muses” so learned all about the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood’s favourite models last week including our own Fanny Cornforth ! Zoom is nothing like as good as the real thing, but we are all friends on the course and it is nice to see them each week.
I am sorry to hear of bad nights, but glad the test results were negative Scentia - the relief that a cold is just a cold - who’d have thought it.
Also hoping Urmston’s family are coping and making a good recovery, and wishing you all a pleasant day.

Good morning everyone from a dull east coast of Fife had a fairly good sleep last night apart from a painful leg caused by two falls within a week must rest up today to let the leg heal - must try and keep upright no more falls for me think it must have been raining during the night I hear the cars outside and there’s lots of them splashing as they pass by. It’ll be a coos lick this for me this morning as they say in Fife, I’m too sore to go in the shower hope I’m not too smelly. Anyhow I’m keeping nice and warm under the electric overblanket it fairly came in handy when I was lying on the floor yesterday waiting for the falls team to come get me up with their brilliant blow up contraption. Hey ho another day watching tv in the comfort of my own home far away from any hospital non caring staff wink

Sark Mon 05-Oct-20 07:58:55

Morning everyone from Oxfordshire.
Greyish with a few patches of blue I think.
Running late for work today because I have been making butternut squash and sweet potato soup for later.
Have a good day everyone and thinking of all who have worriesflowers

MellowYellow Mon 05-Oct-20 08:04:00

Morning from a very soggy and blustery south Cornwall. Marydoll I have garden pot envy - they'd look lovely on my patio! Hope you can show us them when they're planted. A friend is wading over to have coffee with me this morning. The hill I live on cascades water when it rains. Otherwise it's a restful crafting day. The best of everything to you all.

farview Mon 05-Oct-20 08:05:11

Morning everyone..wet but warmish in Lancashire...
Gillybob we are all worried..just say a quick hello please⚘
I also wonder about the lady who lived on the houseboat..think her name was '*theoddbird*....not seen any posts from her..
Take care, keep safe...find some happiness in each day?

NanKate Mon 05-Oct-20 08:06:49

Morning Mick and All.

Cloudy but dry day here so far in South Bucks.

Thank you NannyJ. Yes we had a lovely very noisy weekend with my DS and our two full on grandsons. Fortunately the rain stopped late on Saturday afternoon and the boys noticed the local children playing football on the green in front of our house. So they donned their footie boots and had a great knock about. Fortunately there is a street lamp by the goal hence they played in the dark !

So sorry Mary that your flu jab has knocked you for six. Love your pots. Glad you DH finally let you in. ?

Having my hair done today. It’s so odd wearing a mask at the same time.

Gilly if you are reading this thread, we all miss you and want you back with us. ?

Good morning from a grey, damp Colchester.
Yet another quiet day here both the weather and covid have put paid to a lot.

Lins1066 Mon 05-Oct-20 08:15:43

Good morning Mick and all. Cloudy here on the S Welsh coast. My arm is very sore following the flu vaccine, Mr Lins is fine after his. Lovely colourful pots Marydoll, please don't get locked out today. Grammaretto we are in the same situation, forty years since we moved here and there were four banks, now only one. The post office is in a small supermarket.
Take care everyone.

Nortsat Mon 05-Oct-20 08:27:16

Good morning Mick and the GM team from an overcast east London.

We enjoyed watching Kenneth Branagh’s Murder on the Orient Express last night on C4. We had seen it before but it was enjoyable enough to watch it again. I had a thought about Branagh’s portrayal of Poirot - I wondered whether it was hinting at high functioning autism? Someone who is very clever, not good at personal relationships and sees the world differently than most people?

I parcelled up 4 envelopes of unwanted jewellery and donated it to the Alzheimers Disease Society. Along with my wardrobe clearances being listed on EBay, I am gradually making some headway in reducing the overcrowding in our bedroom!

Thinking of gilly, Bluesapphire and everyone facing challenges today. Miss Marydoll I love the pots too.
Have a good day, all. ?
