Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but looking dry and cold out there in Brackley this morning.
Anyway , my trip out yesterday saw some interesting things in the way people are shopping , there seems to a demand on artificial xmas trees plus xmas puds seem also to be in demand .
Today ,apart from watching cycling on TV later, I need to sort out my frost free fridge freezer as to water in base of fridge anyway have located the hole at back of the fridge part , so will use something once shelving has been removed , to plunge the whole and try and free up a blockage to allow water to drain out back of fridge freezer .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning from another early bird here on the east coast of Fife where it’s getting colder and really dark yesterday was a good day for this household where all three of us were In harmony with each other and I won’t cry if I never see another chip please please give me more vegetables much more healthier too. I’ve asked for fluffy scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast and given instructions to DH as to how to get the eggs fluffy he’s learning every day smile

Morning Mick and all who follow from a dark north Wales where methinks we’ll have a lovely drying day so I can get some washing done!

Off to dad’s later, who’s feeling a little sorry for himself although he’s had a negative COVID test - now he’ll have to put those aches, pains and niggles down to old age!

Have a safe day everyone and welcome back The renegades ?

Good morning Mick and all who follow later.
Seems to be dry and cold here in Oxfordshire, but too dark at the moment.
We have a garden full of tree surgeons and fencers here again so tea, coffee and biscuits will be the main focus of the day and trying to protect some of my larger plants from the chain saw. Although maybe a good trim would be a good idea? Anyway at least it should be a dry day for them, I felt sorry for them on Monday they were so wet.
Have a good day everybody and best wishes to the DogHouse 3 and all those who need a peaceful day.

Should read ‘too dark to see’....

grandMattie Wed 14-Oct-20 06:29:19

Good morning from a dawning E Kent. Did any one see the old moon and Mars nestling up to it. It’s gorgeous! Probably as dry today as it was wet yesterday. It’s so dry here that we’ve forgotten what rain is like!
I’ve got one of those fridge/freezers, *Mick. I have a sort of plastic stick in the drainage hole. I always wondered where the defrosting water went to...
Just laundry today. Exciting or what?
DS2 has reported that his Paper recycling and manufacture factory is full of virus, one paper machine has been stopped, which is unheard of due to virus. Seeing him on Saturday - hope he doesn’t bring it with him.
I’ve been trying to make food that DS1 especially likes before his return to India an institution food. Last night was fish and chips, which I loathe so he a salad. Tonight pizza (homemade of course).
Trust that today will be gentle to everyone.

Good Morning all from Severnside. Dark and dry.

My friend came by yesterday and we had a good chat, mainly about her house move. Sounds more of a palaver these days than when I last moved thirty odd years ago.

Today I’m off to do a spot of shopping and depending how long I am away from home will write some letters later.

Stay safe everyone ?

Ashcombe Wed 14-Oct-20 06:36:23

Good morning all from Torbay where it’s dry and expected to be sunny, as it was yesterday.

Todays's excitement includes emptying the bin (my only chance to breathe some fresh air, due to quarantine) and swapping my summer clothes for winter garb. I know how to live!

Have a good day and best wishes to all with worries of any kind.

Scentia Wed 14-Oct-20 06:45:06

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. Not been out yet, but I bet it’s cold out. I will walk the pooch before going over to DD to go swimming with DGS. I did suggest to DD that we cycle to the pool, she didn’t sound keen! I am worried about her as she has gotten rather weighty over lockdown and now she is pregnant I don’t want her to get ill. She has never been overweight before and doesn’t realise how damaging it can be, especially during pregnancy.
My bulbs arrived yesterday so I will put them in either this afternoon or at the weekend. I have loads of peony tulips, they are lovely.
Off to get dressed now, take care of yourselves today, stay warm, stay safe and have a sneaky smile to yourself when you are thinking about something. (People will ask what you are smiling at, you don’t have to tell of course!)

Purplepixie Wed 14-Oct-20 06:46:27

Good morning all from a nippy east Midlands. Lovely moon and Venus in the Eastern sky. Stay safe and sane during these mad ? days.

brook2704 Wed 14-Oct-20 06:49:49

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s still dark outside but we’ve been promised a dry day at last ?
Yesterday DH and I went walking to look at the local waterfalls in Glen Affric which were so impressive after all the rain. Really roaring water and amongst the autumn colours too, it was beautiful and we had a lovely afternoon
Today I’m up early as it’s the lull before the storm so to say, with the DGC arriving soon. Just got them for the morning today as SiL should be finishing work early afternoon. Then it’s off for a relaxing coffee with my friend - I’ll need it!
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

Morning Mick, morning All. Dark and dry in our corner of Somerset, sunshine forecast, a good drying day for the laundry. Will get some garden furniture under cover, usual Wednesday dust removal and grocery delivery. Neighbour wants a chat this afternoon. There’s a heavy feel here, a poorly neighbour has died and two more went off to hospital by ambulance, one made it back the other is now an inpatient. Mr C suggested we dig a moat around us and pull up the drawbridge. Take care everyone, have the best day you can in this strange world.

Morning everyone from a cold starlit south Cornwall. Was out on my patio an hour ago and it feels like a lovely day is emerging.

Will ring my hip surgeon's secretary today to ask about waiting lists. Otherwise a quiet knitting and pottering day, unless my son gives me 10 minutes notice of meeting in town for coffee, as he did yesterday! Boy did I get dressed quickly! We had a lovely catch up. He's a professional photographer usually but is currently a delivery driver for Amazon, and has some amusing tales to tell. Have the best day you can, all of you.

Pittcity Wed 14-Oct-20 07:14:42

Good morning from Colchester where it has just started to chuck it down. Hope it clears so I can walk into town for a coffee meetup. It might be our last one for a while as Essex County Council has asked to be put into a higher Covid tier.

I saw Mars last night peeping out from behind the clouds.

dragonfly46 Wed 14-Oct-20 07:25:49

Good morning from Leicestershire, I haven’t looked out yet.

Not much planned today except we are getting our feet done.

Hope everyone has a good day. I believe some of the doghouse 4 have been released so look forward to seeing them.
Thinking especially of gilly.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 14-Oct-20 07:35:54

Good morning Muck and all x

Fed up today as PittiCity has posted our County Council want to be put in Tier 2. We have been fairly lucky in Essex so far with low rates of infections, but hey ho needs must!!

(((hugs))) to all in need.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

kittylester Wed 14-Oct-20 07:43:41

Good morning all from a very chilly North Leicestershire where I think there might be a little rain on the window.

Zoomed Carer's course this morning and doing my on-line Sainsbury's shop this pm - I hate it!

We had a lovely hour or so with Wolfie and his mum and brother and sister. 2 year olds are fascinating and he is especially so!!

In the evening DS2 came round with new tea pot as a wedding anniversary present. He said it was to symbolise the warmth and comfort he feels coming here and the memories it evokes of drinking tea before school and watching the Breakfast news. We were both overcome!

Gingster Wed 14-Oct-20 07:45:15

Good morning all. Brighter here In Essex after yesterday when it poured all day. It was so miserable, that we went for afternoon tea in a lovely hotel along the seafront In Thorpe bay. We’d been given a voucher last Xmas and hasn’t used it so decided to go. We spent our wedding night there 49 years ago,, but it wasn’t so up market then.

DG1 has tested negative at Uni. All her bubble (the other 5) have tested positive.

Yes Pittcity I wonder if we will be put in the higher tier. ?. Perhaps a good thing. I’m not sure.

brook what a beautiful place you live. Waterfalls ! Fabulous.

Too wet and cloudy for us to see Mars or the moon last night. Is it Mars or Venus??????

DD will pop in for a coffee after work and have a catch-up.
DH going fishing if it keeps fine.

Keep well everyone and stay away from the crowds who are STILL gathering. ?

Beauregard Wed 14-Oct-20 07:46:48

Good morning from Derbyshire. Looks like being a nice morning with a threat of rain this afternoon.

Well...yesterday was interesting with one or two loose ends tied up!
On a lighter note I was so glad my parsnip photo raised a few smiles and loved the name suggestions put forward!

Today I'll do some housework and a bit of garden tidying. This afternoon is my weekly weigh-in to see what damage was caused by last weeks holiday. This evening we're going out to take advantage of a 50% off good offer at our local restaurant.

Hope everyone has a good day today.

grandMattie Wed 14-Oct-20 07:51:25

Ging, I think it was Mars, and it was at dawn...

mancgirl Wed 14-Oct-20 07:51:32

Good morning from Manchester where there is a faint pink stripe in the sky. Walk and chores today and then going to watch last episode of Us. Read the book a few years ago but thought the first ep was a bit slow but stuck with it. Had a tesco delivery yesterday. The driver asked if I had a frozen turkey for Christmas. If so, to order sooner rather than later as they were delivering lots already. Think I'll take my chance! Have a good day everyone. Hugs for those with wobbles - me! flowers for those with extra cares and worries.

Taichinan Wed 14-Oct-20 07:51:54

Good morning Mick and all from the Angus coast. I've looked out - and come back to bed! According to the weather app we'll have a sunny afternoon again, which is something to look forward to. You're very observant when you're out shopping Mick - I didn't notice anything Christmassy on the shelves yesterday, although there was plenty for Halloween. Nothing of interest to report from my little country nook. It sounds like everything is very sad round your way Cornergran - make sure you and Mr C stay safe. Have a good day everyone ???

Taichinan Wed 14-Oct-20 07:57:22

What a touching gift from your DS, Kitty - what a lovely, thoughtful man he is.

Sar53 Wed 14-Oct-20 07:58:30

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea.
DH's birthday today and we are going out for dinner this evening. We will pop round to his younger daughter's when the grandchildren are home from school.
We collected our new tv yesterday and spent some time setting it up. You can use the remote like a mouse to move around the screen !!!
Gingster was that the hotel beginning with an 'R', we've had afternoon tea there and very nice it is too.
DH will be off to the tip this morning to get rid of the old tv and the packaging for the new one, I have a pile of ironing to clear.
Have a lovely Wednesday and stay safe xx

Good morning all from County Durham. Looking dull out there but at least it's dry for now.

Some wonderful news yesterday. GD1 has been accepted by Royal Ballet on their junior associates programme. She's the youngest at her dance school to have ever been accepted. We're all so overjoyed for her especially after the fall from grace of Ballet West Scotland where she had previously been an associate. Her audition was carried out remotely which makes her achievement even more remarkable. Her lessons with them will be held in Newcastle each week which again is a plus for DD not having to travel to Edinburgh every month. After hearing such wonderful news I wanted to dance all day too.

Good news in these difficult times is so hard to come by. I do hope for some to come your way too, dear GN's. It's so warming to listen into your lives and stories. Keep sharing and supporting one another through these dark wintery times.
